  @HighEliteMajor Sosinski HAS to start playing. So does everyone on the bench. They have to be sent in to zone and hard foul the middle 5 minutes of each half. If Self doesn’t do this, the top 7 guys will all wear so much lingerie they will each look like the Mummy by February 1.

  @Texas-Hawk-10 That’s a really good point. Can you imagine what a Josh Jackson, Andrew Wiggins - even Selby would have done in a program like OU’s ? Don’t get me wrong, I hate Oklahoma in all sports, just using that as an example because of Young, Hield and many others they’ve had - even Bigger Mouthfield in football - they do a much better marketing job on the big names that they land in their respective sports.

  @JayHawkFanToo KU late nineties. No summer school. I’m not 100% sure if he started on the me degree his freshman year or like most students he changes his major at least once. He Graduated in four years, but he didn’t play basketball for Bill Self either. I believe most people refer to them as four year degrees because that’s what it should take, but many less demanding degrees than engineering take more than 4 years due to course correction in a teenagers life. I’m glad you were so well prepared as an 18 year old to know how and what you wanted to do. I’m nearly 40 and still haven’t figured it out. Maybe someday…

  Newman and Doke didn’t practice Sunday I believe. Injuries must be more then just wear and tear. At this point though if a rest day helps then it’s a no-brainer. We have to tread carefully with this Doke injury and pray its temporary. It sounds like he fought through a lot of pain just to play Friday. You have to wonder if the Newman injury is an old one. We knew he dealt with something at Miss St. It didn’t seem that noticeable in the game that he was hurt but reports of pre-game was he was limping around…

  Bamba would be a tough guy to officiate. He is so tall and long, he gets to balls that are higher than what most can get to. Its tough to really tell if he is getting them at their peak, or just as they come down. It would be a nightmare at real speed, considering that even in slow motion, it’s hard to tell. I think one of the blocks may have been a goal tend, but the others looked clean to me.

  Self told the team before the game to shoot at least 35 3s. Said he was going to tell them 40, but didn’t want to get in their heads. I think the comfidenc from coach that no 3 is a bad 3 has really taken the lid off the bucket. Guys catch it and go up with no hesitation and I love it.

  @HighEliteMajor I noticed that, too. I think Malik is starting to realize he needs to find other ways to help the team. It is going to be a process getting him to become more effective in the obvious areas, like driving and passing… and most, just seeing more of the court. A while back, I heard some people call him a ball hog. I never thought that. Self pushes him to contribute, but he just hasn’t figured it out yet and how to mesh with his teammates. So he has taken some ill-advised shots… just wanting to contribute. He learned a lesson or two last night, along with several of our players… on NOT what to do against a defender with a 7’9" reach. I hope Doke watches that tape over and over. His shot was exposed for sticking it right out there to get blocked, instead of keeping his big body between the ball and defender. Those low post moves… he needs to stop turning his upper body directly towards the goal. He should practice a baby hook and a few other moves. In the second half, he scored directly on Bamba by just taking the ball behind his head to make more space away from Bamba and his release. Now I’m curious for the Texas game in AFH. What changes will Doke make between now and then? He really has been impressive concerning advancing his game. He focuses well, has lots of emotion, his heart is in the right place (for his team), he is intelligent, has a solid athletic base and he works his tail off. Can’t wait to see his game by March!
