Other Big XII teams lose these games. Not the Jayhawks. They win. And they win championships.
Does anyone know if Jamari is okay? He took a beating for us. Played his heart out and took some hard falls. Stats won’t show, but I think he played the game of his life last night and might have played longer if he could’ve. He’s a senior, he lives and breathes KU basketball, and he’s come a LONG way. Extremely proud of him today and hope he’s okay.
I remember thinking way back in the day that there was no way Frank Mason would be better than Tharpe. What a dumbass I was!

Long time no see guys. I think we’ll be ok. Bill is generally flexible. He fell in love with an old love (big man ball) but I’m sure he’ll snap out of it. Just give him a little time, he’s earned it.

Issue #1: He gives Duke’s '99 team–who lost in the championship–the #4 spot? Led by Elton Brand? You gotta have more star power to be the 4th best in 25 years if you don’t even win the natty.
Issue #2: He has Baylor’s title team as better than any team KU has had over the past 25 years? I highly doubt that.
Issue #3: KU’s '08 title team–the only team to win with a final four group of all #1s–IS #13 ON THE LIST?! Blasphemy. Seriously, though, it’s just dumb. We had so many studs on that team: Chalmers, Rush, Russell Robinson, Darrell Arthur, Darnell Jackson, and Sherron Freaking Collins, Sasha Kaun, and Cole Aldrich off the bench. Medcalf probably thinks Lebron is the GOAT too.
Issue #4: Per issue #1, you don’t have to win a natty to be on the list. Then why isn’t our '20 team, arguably the most dominant team KU has had over the past 25 years, 2nd to last on this list?
Issue #5: Our last title team was the worst on this list over the past 25 years? I’m sorry, after this trash list, the burden of proof is on Medcalf or anyone else to prove why this team should be this low. I won’t explain myself on this one.
@justanotherfan yep, that change of pace. I suppose if he can be sudden enough to create space for his shot then he’ll be fine.
That change of pace is why Frank Mason was so good at getting to the basket. He wasn’t just blazing through the paint, he changed it up, kept people off balance, was prepared with floaters, etc. I love that kind of play.
For your viewing pleasure. One of the best highlight tapes I’ve seen in a while. Shows off his court awareness, ability to change pace, make quick decisions, and finish at and away from the rim.

No, none of KU’s issues involved NIL stuff.
No, very few people will make enough from NIL deals to want to stay in school longer. If someone is good to turn pro early, that’s going to be more money than staying in school.
Someone will end up as the poster child of how not to balance academic/athletic/NIL responsibilities
Most NIL based deals will be relatively small and from local businesses. The NIL deal will have minimal impact on KU’s recruiting unless the athletic department totally botches how they handle and promote NIL opportunities to kids.
I would think there’s a strong enough relationship between NIL and KU’s case that it may have some impact? E.g. If NIL existed then perhaps KU wouldn’t have done this or that (allegedly)?
Also for the marginal kids, the ones who may or may not make money by declaring, perhaps NIL would give them the incentive they needed to return?
