  @drgnslayr After leaving the NBA, Smart and Grayson Allen will revive Vaudeville by having an act where Allen trips Smart, Higgins blows a whistle and the audience howls at watching Smart suffer and Allen getting caught. The players will just be the only ones who don’t get that the audience is laughing out of hate, not joy.

  @DoubleDD I like your optimism. We can all use some optimism about now… in any area. I don’t know why we can’t rebuild our program and become a respectable team and possibly even a powerhouse team? We could be in a worse football conference! The renovation project is needed. It’s necessary to have a chance to compete. Just hiring a good coach won’t do it for our program. And the fans know it. Hard to believe it was just 10 years ago when we were playing in the Orange Bowl and was one loss away from possibly being crowned national champions. There was a lesson in all of that. And fans have good memories. They know that a good situation or two isn’t going to put Kansas on the football map. Actually… we have the opportunity now to do what KSU did years ago. They made their move a long time ago and their program was every bit as run down as ours is now. We actually have the chance that their program declines while ours rises… and there is no reason why we shouldn’t pass up the purple kitties.

  @justanotherfan Maybe Doke will be able to develop into a more versatile defender this off-season if he returns. Hudy was starting the scratch the surface with his body this year. His bad matchup with Spellman he wasn’t 100% so its tough to get a full read how different he could have defended him if he wasn’t limited. I don’t think it would have been a big difference but we don’t know. At least its a glaring weakness that can be addressed either here with our staff or wherever he ends up.

  It’s pretty simple. There are people who don’t like change. And there are people who are open to it. You will never be able to convince those scared of change of anything. They like THEIR life with no regard for anyone else’s. They would rather someone else be poor, when they don’t have to be, because it will effect them in the tenny tiniest way. It’s a sad, but fair, way of looking at things.

  @BShark I think Doke will be a completely different player by fall of this year. His ability to advance rapidly is his biggest upside. Not sure about his improvement at the FT line. He should just be able to mechanically develop his stroke and form and practice enough to develop muscle memory. That alone should pull him to 60%. Beyond that % he will have to add some additional polish. I imagine a real beast in Doke appearing next year. Just look at this year… he became a real threat about half way through the year, where teams had to deal with a real scoring threat inside. I imagine Doke returning with a new defensive game. One where he fouls a lot less but challenges shots better. I imagine Doke learning a lot more about rebounding. That is more about desire than anything else… just look a Silvio. He often snagged rebounds that weren’t even close to him. He really wanted the ball.

  I understand that a lot has come out clarifying his comments and how certain things were taken out of context and other statements were overblown. I just still can’t believe he said anything about the situation whatsoever about there being a school change under any circumstance.

  I also agree that Doke should have played 5-10 minutes this game. Silvio should have played the entire game probably. Maybe put Mitch in there, but he can’t really drive it yet either. We still lose in this game.
