  @HawkChamp We’ve always matched up well against UNC’s run and gun style and don’t play defense mentality. They are no different then the Kentucky team we just beat. I do think UNC when whole is a tougher team but I don’t exactly get scared at the chance of them being in our bracket. I’d be much more scared of playing Virginia and its slog pace or Louisville with its absurd length in the post. Those 2 teams just wear you down whether they have the most talent on the floor or not…

  @jayballer54 He banged his knee last week. Missed a game or two, then played the spectacular 30 point outing, but now they held him out tonight and tomorrow night too I think I read. Obviously being cautious with him.

  Yep, he nailed it. Mix up the OAD freshmAn with upper-classmen and that’s a great recipe for success. I would think it also eases the pressure a bit on recruiting, knowing that you can get the “developmental” players to commit a bit earlier to your program as they’re not waiting to see who’s going pro. Of course, it helps when your developmental players are the likes of Mason, Graham, etc.

  We’re going to see a lot more of the zone this year as a tactic to keep Landen out of foul trouble. It’s also going to save Frank, Devonte, and JJ’s legs throughout the season. Self might even be forced to practice his zone a little but so he can add some wrinkles to it considering how much we’re likely to see the zone the rest of the way.

  I loved watching old man Lucas show up those freshmen. It’s amazing what you can do with a little experience. UK has the talent to beat anyone, but KU has the experience. Not to mention the experience of beating the pre-season top 2 teams!

  @KUSTEVE Got to agree on our guards - -Devonte & Frank had to really tighten the screws last night - -AND THEY DID. - - Neither one got in foul trouble, was just an overall really strong defensive performance. - -You don’t think this didn’t help Franks chances for POY? - it had to 100% - -yes I know still quite abit of season to go - but for sure didn’t hurt his chances - - so tough of kid.   @KUSTEVE Kind of enjoyed the interview with Briscoe, Willis and Hawkins. These guys hold most of their basketball IQ. Thought it was interesting that Willis stayed up all night last night watching Jayhawk game footage. So was that the first time he worked on scouting us? That seemed quite odd.
