James Akinjo & Kendall Brown have declared for the draft & will hire agents. Big losses for Baylor. Hopefully that Sochan will join them
Ha I had just posted that a few hours before this lol - it’s all good

When Kendall committed to Baylor I thought it was a big deal. However after watching his season at Baylor and now him leaving I think we did fine not landing him. Good for him he’s getting to the league after a year. But we good

Right or wrong, I always thought he was a poor man’s version of Jalen Wilson.

I agree from watching this yr I just WASN’T that impressed with him. I dunno seemed to lack aggressiveness could be being a freshman deferring to upper but just thought he would be more assertive

lmao - - yup it is- - any other team league players leaving - - ummm CYA

I don’t know about that but I can see why you’d say that. Right now one is going to be a 1st round pick and the other (Wilson) may not get drafted at all (depending on when he leaves).
I think Wilson’s ticket to changing NBA minds is to come back another season, take on a bigger role & in the offseason improve his shooting form/shot preparation & work on becoming an even better athlete/defender. He really is a below the rim player on offense but you watch him board on defense and he’s a really good athlete at times. He’s still reaching his ceiling imo and I’d like to see it continue in a KU uniform

I thought Jalen outplayed him, but I know the NBA drafts for future talent, and his upside is higher than JW.

Ultimately if KJ Adams transfers out, it’s basically a wash on that one as I don’t think KB would have changed much about the team this year. If anything maybe minutes are more congested and JWill doesn’t have his metamorphosis.
-
Mostly comparable stats but both played big roles on their teams success. Definitely Brown’s an athlete with the size to be drafted and developed.
-
True we basically got Adams right after Brown went to Baylor. Hopefully KJ sticks around but the portal iz what it iz now…
-
I think Jalen’s best ticket is to return no matter what. Then… go into complete muscle-building mode in the off-season. Then work on jump shot, handles, and defense. There is a limit what he can do for his athleticism, but he could become a true mean-ass junkyard dog that has a chance on the right NBA roster. It’s a long shot because he will truly have to sacrifice everything and more to build into this Marvel character!
-
Jarred Sutton I believe his name was on WHB 810 this morning and they were talking about Oachai - -And he was saying absolute lock 1st round – talked about which kind of suprised me talking about how good he is defensively. Many , many good things about Oach
-
Not Big-12 or KU but relevant as Drew Timme is finally going pro.
-
Some others of importance Tyty Washington leaving UK & Kennedy Chandler leaving Tennessee after 1 year.
-
@BeddieKU23 and everyone can breathe a sigh of relief.
Zags came out of this little run with no championships and look like they’ll be down a bit next season.
-
Yeah they will still be solid given Hickman, Salis, Strawther, Watson to return as far as I’ve seen so that’s a solid 4. But they have zero recruits of notice so imagine they are about to go portal heavy to fill in the cracks. Definitely need 1-2 bigs and another shooter to come in
-
@BeddieKU23 The only guy I’ve seen be able to successfully replace 4+ starters and still be a contender the next season is Bill… They’ll need to hit home runs in the transfer market.
-
I agree they will have a drop off regardless of what they assemble
-
I wonder what the rest of their league will look like. St Mary’s has proven to be a problem for Gonzaga lately.
-
Going to be splitting CB/JWill yeppp.
-
@BShark Please explain “splitting CB and Wilson.”

I’d say with 95% confidence CB goes pro (and is drafted) and we get Jalen back.
-
I have a different feeling, CB comes back, Jalen declares.
-
I have a different feeling , I think they BOTH go

Yea the NC always changes the calculus on stuff like this. I feel like it did that for the 08 team too
-
I think they both go. But that entirely depends on Jwills NBA feedback. If his measureables arent good he will have to decide if being the man for another season would help him.

It definitely does.
I want to say more about JWill but I’m not sure how to word it. Never know who ends up reading these boards.
-
@BShark thats when you create another account like @CDolphin or something else equally untraceable…
-
Or add me to the dm list?
-
I can prob create a category behind the auth wall if that helps

Some kind of secret board could be interesting tbh.
-
The only thing I’ll say about JWill - 6’8 guys with plus rebounding who can shoot .263 from deep are a dime a dozen in the league. If he goes pro right now, he will either play for peanuts domestically or end up overseas. All of which are not in world-class facilities and arenas.
KU presents an alternative. He will probably make almost as much as the G-League would pay if he came back with an opportunity to work his way into the draft. To me, it is a no-brainer decision. But I get some guys just want to play ball.
-
@BShark I know where this is going…Can I join? Please? Man, you cool guys always form a secret clique… Will you have decoder rings???
-
Can I also be in the secret society?
-
Decoder rings pog.
The tl;dr is that things are going strongly towards JWill being back. He isn’t really draftable.
-
seen latest for players from some site I think it was called rookie take I believe - had Ochai 22nd to the Spurs -& Christan as the # 32 pick to Magic

Spoiler alert: It will. (see Ochai)

Baylor forward Jeremy Sochan declared for the draft today.

They had a nice run from 2015 to now. A pair of Elite Eights, three Sweet 16s, a pair of trips to the title game and a top 5 team in the lost 2020 season. That would be a tough pill to swallow to get that close basically every year for eight postseasons and have no titles. That’s somewhat reminiscent of the Phi Slamma Jamma Houston Cougars of the 1980s, who went to three straight Final Fours, and back to back title games, but never won the Big One, losing to the Jordan-Worthy-Perkins UNC team in 1982, the Jim Valvano NC State squad in 1983, and the Patrick Ewing led Georgetown team in 1984.
Weird to get that close that often and never break through.

Buffalo Bills on line 1.
-
Former West Virginia Mountaineer and current Kentucky Wildcat Oscar Tshiebwe announced he is returning to Kentucky today. That’s big time for UK and should make them even more attractive to transfers.
-
Nembhard leaving Gonzaga. They losing a lot & haven’t signed squat in HS or transfer portal so far

Ya they had quite little run, but looks like this might be a bumpy year for them
-
Jalen has representation. https://twitter.com/AndyJ0seph/status/1517321532602679296
-
@Gorilla72 The firm he’s using has an NCAA certified agent so Jalen can still come back if he chooses to.
-
Guys like CB and JWil need to get NBA feedback… this is a must! Realistically… they both should realize how much they improved this past 12 months, think about how much they can improve in the next 12 months, and make a decision. From my perspective, they should both return and use Och as the example of why it pays to have patience and continue to work hard.
