Flory MVP for making Toppin his biotch though.

Alright fine, I'll take my 1st weekend exit glasses off. Now, I see your point.
I actually think the real indictment of the staff is they haven’t evaluated talent well enough in the NIL era.
Gone after big names instead of grinding the tape.

RE: Nothing to prove... nothing to win.
I HATE the switch everything defense. Causes us to rebound poorly and double team too much in the post.
Offensively I’m not sure we shoot it well enough to get much better. Offense for this group has to come from defense in a sense.
I still think they will get better as a team. But we are certainly not a good team right now. Incredibly lucky to not be 0-3 in conference play.

+16 with Mbiya on the floor and +11 with DP. The rest were basically even

With this being our 9th loss and 4 out of the last 6 being Ls, who here thinks this team is lost and done? Bill Self in his first 20 years at Kansas had zero teams lose 11 or more games. This year barring the biggest miracle in sports history it will be 3 consecutive years of 11 or more games. Kansas has made it out of the first weekend but 1 time in the last 7 years. It’s time to ask difficult questions. The first one is should Bill Self be coaching Kansas going forward?
I can honestly say I hope he not is back next season. I don’t think he had the right mindset to coach in this era of college sports. Yes I’m well aware we won a title technically in the NIL era but it was with guys that were upper class men he developed here, not a team that returns 2 guys that have seen the floor every season.
Old Goats got one more in ‘em.
Also just look at Indiana, UK and UCLA. Only way you move on is if you have a top guy lined up like Otz. And even then no guarantees.

@crimsonblu22 yep. I went for a bit, it was pretty low key.
But is low key what KU's program needs to improve fan support and our image to future players. I can't imagine a great athlete seeking out a low key program. I'm afraid KU is satisfied with a mediocre, low key football program. I don't see any excitement about KU football.
I think they’re doing fine. Focus is on the field not the other stuff.
Stadium renovation is going to bring plenty of excitement. A win in London to start the season will get the people going.

@NormRoberts I would think McNeil wants to start. He's good and in a vacuum he is appealing but I wonder what he would cost and TK would have to come off the bench.
I worry what this team looks like with Kinney starting. I don’t love the tape myself.

We need shooting still. Any chance we land Momcilovic from the portal? I think he would give us shooting.
If he doesn’t go to draft he is likely a return to ISU I believe. Entered portal but with a do not contact

Stokes and Self feel like oil and water, but winning solves all… Hoping for the best.
Self loves this shit. Norm said as much on a pod recently.
He sure seems to. I don’t get it, but maybe he’s just a masochist

This roster feels far from complete.
Athletic as hell though. Going to be a lot of dunks. We know Paul and Kohl will play hard.
I think they’ll at least be entertaining.

Mbiya and Reeves is maybe good enough at that spot. Not enthralled by it. If they get a bunch of scoring to surround them with it will be fine.
Not hitting panic button yet by any means. They’ll field a good squad.

Louisville is reported to be throwing stupid money around, so I don't know that it was ever feasible to get Flory back especially knowing he had one foot out the door already. Definitely wasn't going to be
I've heard Louisville has the benefit of private NIL... something I mentioned in here last year and had few believers in it. Private NIL has not limits... no institutional $22 mil cap. Nothing. If we really want to compete, we need to create a private NIL structure and then go build a budget at least twice what we have now.
The issue is that this was supposed to be regulated but it basically hasn’t been. Collectives aren’t supposed to exist anymore.
Whole thing is a mess.

I don’t see us competing for a championship with Kinney at PG, but maybe he’s better than what I’ve watched.
