@JRyman I’ll give it a shot. I dont think I know the game well enough yet but here it goes anyways. Kids got size thats for sure. NBA size. Stats are looking pretty good too but how are the shooting percentages? Assist to TO rates? Hard to quantify Basketball IQ but knowledge of the game is important to me as a recruiter. Id also want to know if I could trust this kid to work hard and earn playing time. Nothing is free in life. No easy rides. If the kid wants to be even better than his stats, he’s gotta put the work in. Offensive schemes for this kid depend on how his ball handling is. If he can play some point guard in certain situations…Can he create his own shot and or create for others? If so then we could run screen offenses to get him open for good looks and or passes into the paint for his team mates. Can he be selfish when needed and unselfish when needed? Defense is a major priority. You dont play defense, you better learn cuz thats how you get more minutes. No possessions off. Mostly man to man defense with the occasional press and trap schemes and various zone looks. Kids got the height to be a great help defender. Better have the chops for it. Rock Chalk Jayhawk

@HighEliteMajor Chemistry is also built on trust. You ssid chemistry doesn’t just happen. So there has to be a sense of trust built in practice to carry over to the real game itself. I brought it up in another thread that even Cal tried to throw Skal out there and now he’s benched. I mean Cal benching heralded freshman is almost unheard of. But why did he bench him if he is such a great talent? I haven’t watched any KY ball so I can’t say it was chemistry or not but I do know he wasn’t getting it done. I think that Diallo and Skal both succeeded in HS due to their size and speed. The college game is faster than they are and guys are bigger than who they played against. Anthony Davis struggled his rookie year in the NBA u ntil he got to the weight room and matured physically. As to why only these two? Cause why not make it a choice and a discussion point?

@Hawk8086 I’m with you. As long as no one else “breaks serve” then all we have to do is win one or two big away games to win the league. Everyone always says “the road to the B12 title goes through Lawrence.” Ha… truth is… it COULD go through Lawrence, but doesn’t have to. Lawrence is the toughest place for teams to win in. Let them keep focusing on that and then they lose at TT… Turns out that the TT loss is what cost them a chance at the B12 title (or to share it). And also… they have to “hold serve” at home, like when we visit. Instead… they just keep thinking they have to win in Lawrence to win the B12. Nonsense, but why should we help the rest of our league understand basic math?

I’m ready. I’ve been ready since summer. Now things starting to speed up a bit. Love it, been watching other games, now ready to watch the boys go for three nights, hope we preform well. ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BAY. One little side note for the ones that think the sky is falling, just remember that the Nu 1, 4,5, & 9 all lost plus probably a few more also soo it’s not just us, it’s early REALY early, like 2nd game in the season early nad yet to have our boy help with the rim and boards , we will be fine
