@HighEliteMajor just a heads up. You are not God. You have flaws as well.
Sorry you feel ganged up on. But you have a way that you underhand people’s post and knowledge of the game.
What makes you better than the rest of us? I mean if you were such a great coach why aren’t you coaching now? Why aren’t you consulting somewhere with your vast coaching greatness?
How do you know what others do or do not know about the game?
Just as I do not know what your experience is, you don’t know what others is either.
@Hawk8086 yeah I don’t know either. Just snowballing ideas.
With some of the rumors though I wonder if Bragg would get the start??
I’m not saying these changes are due to the loss. Just due to the game itself. Could the proverbial light have been turned on for Bragg and now it’s time to see if he can handle it shinning on him? At WVU definitely not the place to give a new starting spot. But at home against TCU might be.
I don’t think Perry will play the 3 starting. Just might happen within the game.
I’m just ready for this game to begin so we can move on forward.
@HighEliteMajor How is it that you know why someone posted something?
Oh they used a word and therefore in your all knowing never wrong state of mind you know what they were conveying with their post.
Why is it when you are questioned or called out we don’t grasp what you are saying. But when we stand up for someone we are blind because we don’t question them?
Anyone have thoughts to the starting 5 for KU Saturday?
Could Bragg get the start over Hunter?
Will any of our wings take a seat at the tip to get Greene or Svi in early?
Could Perry go to the three at all in this game letting Bragg and Diallo play the high low?
Will Vick see court time?
And before anyone comes out with their derogatory oblivious Lucas and Traylor shouldn’t be allowed out of the the locker room. Get over it they are Jayhawks, they are members of this team. Let it go already.
@DoubleDD I am hopeful that this Saturday’s game at home will allow KU some freedom to play the younger guys more minutes.
It’s two fold. Get them game experience. Plus it can give the others some rest that is well needed too.
@DoubleDD the question then becomes how long can he stay on the floor without fouling out?
Yes his offensive upside is greater but his liability on D and his inability to stay out of foul trouble will put his butt on the bench.
That’s my opinion over hat I’ve seen him play.
@jaybate-1.0 I’ve wondered that as well. Even though Perry has a ton of post moves on the block why isn’t he playing the high inbthebhigj low?
He can take his man off the dribble, can shoot outside, better passer, one would think he would be at 17 ft looking inward instead of being on the block waiting for the double team to come.
@wrwlumpy Ahhh good to see us moving forward.
Tear off the rear view mirror and let’s go forward.
One game at a time. TCU you’ve got next.
He’s only 20 right nowhere still hasn’t matured physically. Give him 4-5 more years and see how much stronger he will be.
Plus that will help him protect the ball on his drives and rebounding strength.
@jayballer54 Roght there with you man.
Don’t insisted what you think I know or doesn’t know. Don’t tell me what I’m thinking. Don’t tell me I can’t comprehend what you are saying. And never assume anything about me. You know what they say when you assume. You make an a$$ out of u and me.
I try and lighten things up as some people take these boards to seriously. Some people don’t like my opinions. They are mine so O don’t care. I can agree with people and disagree with them too. I don’t believe in just one way of thinking. Definitely don’t like to be told how to think.
Stay good my friend. Stay you!
@Crimsonorblue22 Hard to think he could ride the bench next year as well behind Mason and Graham.
Sore Wayne and Svi could be gone but he’s not a 3 as much a 1 or 2 in Selfs system.
Hopefully this TCU game affords us a big enough lead that the young guys get a chance to play a lot of minutes and show what they got and can do.
I’d like to see more Vick.
He could spell Mason and or Graham here and there.
I’m guessing here but would think he is a better ball handler than either Greene or Svi.
Ten again if him and Graham were on the floor at the same time the tv announcers wouldn’t know who was who.
@jayballer54 did you not get your morning coffee?
Kidding man. Just me poking the bear with a short stick.
@joeloveshawks I tend to agree with you.
I have never seen any of Diallos highschool game tape but guessing his length and quickness let him take over games against smaller and slower players.
I know he was the MVP at the McDAA game. But no one plays D in that game and it really is who can run the floor the best to get easy baskets.
If he can play a stretch of mins 3-5 without fouling I’m all for him playing more.
He also needs to be able to get low so his center of gravity is lower and makes him just a little harder to push around on the block.
Maybe Self is just holding him back during the first round of conference play and will unleash him for the second times we play teams so we are different from the game tape?

The answer to that we already know. It’s NO! They had to call campus police yesterday to get help with their bus to get to the arena.
@drgnslayr their student body with have a sit in to protest the fines and all other punishment brought on by the powerful and mighty NCAA
Sorry for the language used in this video but…
@drgnslayr chapter 1 is well done. Don’t let the editors of the world stop you from releasing others.

Hey you do what you gotta do and say what you gotta say.
Those who are offended or hurt have one of two choices. 1) stop reading and move on or 2) suck it up and asses what you say and go from there.
@jaybate-1.0 at one point in the first half Williams sealed of Lucas and basically used one arm to call for the ball while he used one yes one to push Landon in half.
If Landon is our biggest and strongest big not sure what any of the other 4 were going to do to stop him on the low block.
@DinarHawk control the ball. That’s what needed to be done. Better passes. Or heck passes to a teammate and not a fan.
Hard for any big to be productive on the low block when the guards can’t get the ball to the three point line let alone to an angle to make a pass to the block. Perry got most of his points from getting the ball away from the block and taking his man inside.
KU needs all 5 guys to play down low to win. Even minutes, spastic minutes. This guy or the other. They all need to play to make Kansas a winner.
@drgnslayr Oh YEAHHHHHH!!!
Wait that’s Macho Man Randy Savage.
@ralster well said!!
I almost threw my remote last night in the first half when WV was shooting. Ft and Diallo came into the game. He barely boxed out reached for the ball then had it knocked away by a guard. Then as KU broke the press he gets clocked out behind the back board by the same guard as Svi clanked an open three allowing WV to get the reb and run past our guards flat feet.
Now I did stand up for him when he went high and stood his ground when Paige tried to oosterize the whole team. Was even more shocked there was no whistle. But I regress.
Yes the young ones are raw. The elders are there. Coach needs to find a way to take advantage of both old and young instead of being taken advantage of.
Didn’t matter what component of C5 KU played last night on D, Williams pushed them around and made them all look bad. Heck his D looked really good against them all too. Geesh!!!
@HighEliteMajor No there are no easy wins this year in the Big12. Especially on the road.
Maybe it’s TCU’s hideous court design that messes a guys vision up like the Smurf turf at Bosie St. (My brother played there twice said it wants to make you throw up as a lineman)
ISU will be gunning for KU at Ames again this year. Their fans will be very I to the upset. Their guys will drive the lane and they will pressure our guards.
Shaka Smart will use this game as a point to his team as what can happen when you press Kansas.
Karate will want to beat us to make DVDs of their one BIG win.
And @HighEliteMajor sore we may disagree on certain points of the game and team but I’m not a complete a$$ when it comes to being human.
@ralster I agree about Wayne not being that kind of guy. But he usually looks at them like “why” and moves on. Last night he didn’t even raise an eye brow.
Yes those three need to be ready to beat the press and be ready not only to do it at home vs WV but to do it in a few other games from here on out.
@jayballer54 it might have been. I know they got KU in Atlantis a few years ago too.
Again another game going East they didn’t play well in.
@drgnslayr said I’m talking about our players talking about it. I don’t want to hear a word of excuse from these guys. Time to walk the walk, f*ck the talk!)
Yes I’d like to hear or read Frank or Wayne step up and shoulder the loss. No excuses, no coddling. Just the cold hard truth. “Hey I didn’t play well and that cost my team the game. I need to watch film and see what I can do better and make sure from here on out in focused on the game at hand.”
Would it be that hard to do? But coaches don’t let them, there are never any Tim Tebow sound bites declaring they won’t let this team lose again this season.
Who wants to be the leader? Step up and take control and be vocal this week at practice let your teammates that they aren’t doing it right B they aren’t working hard enough and then lead by example.
@DoubleDD who was that KU played three 4 years ago right before Christmas in a snow storm on the East coast?
They stunk up te joint that game too.
Is it traveling to the East coast they don’t like or can’t handle or what?
@drgnslayr Best advice I ever got from a coach was, “Don’t let this moment pass you by. Don’t sit around in 5 years, 10 or 20 and ask, ‘What if?’”
This was from a guy who was a highschool All American RB got a full ride to play under Bob Devaney at Nebraska. Before the first game even happened his freshman year he was kicked off the team for drinking smoking and not working hard in practice. Nebraska went on to win the National title that year and the next. He went to Wayne State college and made their Hall of Fame. But still, “What it?”
These guys need to wake up and see that teams are aiming for them not folding. TCU won’t just let KU win because they are Kansas this weekend and that’s been proved before.
@drgnslayr you’d think Perry, Traylor and possibly Hunter being seniors with court time would take that personal and take the rest of the team to task to go get the National Title to make up for it.
I think the Duke thing was they weren’t the story everyone was talking about. It was Kentucky the whole year u til the moment the Badgers beat them. Then Wisconsin became the tournament story. Maybe that set the fire for Duke?
I agree that these guys should be on that plane hanging their heads and wondering what just happened last night? They should really look at themselves in the mirror and question themselves and what they really want this year as a team.
Because after all it’s about te name on the front of the jersey they are lucky enough to wear that they represent.
@drgnslayr Agreeed! Need a chip.
Hard to play with a chip when you have a bunch of spoiled 4 and 5 star players.
Maybe it’s time to take away some of their amenities back home? Make them earn those super nice dorms and lounges?
@drgnslayr KU threw over the press a few times but they still beat us down the floor negating any run outs by our guards.
No easy buckets for KU.
Speaking of pace, they sped up our guards minds. Instead of playing our game and controlling the ball, we let them in our heads and turned it over. Not taking care of the ball but worried about it and trying to do to much, almost like a wide receiver turning and running before they catch te ball, our guards were thinking about the turnovers before the D got there and well that resulted in a dysfunctional offense and way to many turnovers.
As for the perimeter D it was absent. They played Spanish Bull Fighter D. Ole!! They must of had flashbacks to having Joel Embiid back there protecting the rim or something.
I’m not sure I buy the Frank being bothered by the Westher and family in it.
He grew up in the NE same with Wayne. Heck it’s not like Lawrence KS is next to San Diego in terms of climate.
I’ll take fatigue due to the travel schedule they went through from West Texas to West Virginia. Three tough games in 8 days.
Maybe Self could have should have rested the guards more in the Baykor win?
Maybe practices need to be lighter?
Huddy gets their strength and bulk but where is the stamina? WV players weren’t holding onto their shorts? They played 9 guy. KU 11.
Heck I saw Paige jawing at Wayne and Wayne ignored him but wasn’t even phased by what he was saying. Like he was either to tired to care or was already submitting to them as winners of the game.
@benshawks08 Ellis didn’t have a Wiggins like game at WV but he showed up. Ended up with a scratch on his forehead in the process.
Last year he would have hid in the corner after getting slapped but this year he has played with focus. Passion. And a ferocity and toughness that I am so happy to see in his game.
What Ellis did last night was keep KU from getting blown out. Being a post player he didn’t have the opportunity to do more each time down the floor.
This is now a circled date on the calendar.
No it’s not the home game against WV to get a win back. Even though yes KU must hold serve at home from here on out.
No this date is the road game in Norman. This is a must win on the road game to keep KUs hopes alive for getting the #1 Seed in the Big12 tournament.
A loss in Norman could open the door for either OU and WV to get the top two seeds in theBig12 this year.
So circle the date of February 13 on your calendars.
That makes it three years in a row Kansas has failed to show up in Morgantown WV
Lots of turnovers. Forced and unforced.
Terrible D, which amasses easy layups and FTs.
Remember when we all thought Self had issues in Stillwater OK?
This isn’t about who played and who didn’t play this is about how the team fails to show up when traveling East
It’s almost the same thing the past three years. Flat offense. Guys playing outside the realm of team ball Defense that isn’t apparent to the ball handler as they easily make it to the rim.
Guess next year we can hope we don’t let them storm the court?
@benshawks08 Little brother Curry went from where to Duke thanks to his big brothers success.
Stopping The ball in transition before they get into the paint.
Take care of the ball either when pushing the pace or slowing it down.
Rebounding on both ends of the floor.
@wrwlumpy heck I thought that was done with projectors above the court.
Very cool
@brooksmd I’m not saying “IT IS” time I’m asking “IS IT” time?
Don’t get me wrong I get why we have what we have.
Just a conversation piece for fun around here.
Wondering if anyone else thinks it’s time for Kansas to make a change at Allen Filedhouse , James Naismith court?
Oh wait hold on. I’m not talking a coaching change or moving the student section or even what player should or should not be playing.
I’m talking the court design on our beloved home floor.
I’m not talking going Oregon or painting in the three point line. I’m just talking about the half court design
If Kansas would change it what should they go to?
Below are some past designs sans the State of Kansas in Yellow. I couldn’t find that pic.
Thoughts. Ideas.
@ajvan pit barrels smokers are awesome.
Neighbor has a Yoder pellet smoker competition smoker. We did 8 pork shoulders on it last spring at one time for a graduation party.
Bubba keg smoker/grill works really well too. It’s basically a green egg knock off. Works the same cost a heck of a lot less.
This was tonight’s dinner. Homemade deep dish
Game day food. At home don’t usually eat anything since KU plays at 8 or later.
If they played Saturday afternoons more who know. That menu comes up full.
Ribs, pulled pork, hot wings (smoked hot wings), homemade deep dish pizza, baked nachos, not that chips and queso nachos, chips and queso, the list goes on. I can make about anything out there.
Beer. Beer is good. Budweiser, Boulevard wheat, Sam Adams Boston Lager, Zip line, Boulevard 80 acre, Busch light, coors light, anything really but Miller light.
