Oh, and I hear we just dumped the final piece of the executive branch — Ernie Stewart.
House cleaning over. Time to hire some new brains.
Can’t say I know anything about Hudson, so no clue if he’s a good coach.
@AsadZ thats a tough one. I enjoyed this WC immensely and i hope it has a positive impact bridging the gap between the middle east and the western world.

While watching all the tributes to Pele over the weekend, it occurred to me that not many people know that he played a match in Kansas City back in 1968. On the 4th of July, no less.
His club team Santos was touring the US that summer to play against NASL teams, and among the stops they made was a friendly against the KC Spurs at Municipal Stadium. I was a ball boy for the Spurs that season and got a comp ticket to see him play. This was years before he would burst onto the radar of American sports fans as a member of the New York Cosmos.
I don’t remember much about the game, other than (a) the small contingent of Brazilian fans made LOTS more noise than the thousands of Spurs fans in the stands; and (b) he was by FAR the best player on the field.
Too bad the Spurs went out of business a couple of years later. (Ironically, it happened just months after Pele got his third World Cup win for Brazil in Mexico.) If they’d survived into the mid-Seventies, I might have gotten another chance to witness greatness in person.

That would have been great, being a ball boy when Pele was playing. amazing.
I was fortunate to see him play with the Cosmos in NYC way back when, or actually i think the team was playing at the Meadowlands by then. I was just a kid, but still a memory.

Are the space heaters doing the trick or is it sucking bad?
It’s not too cold now that that cold snap is over. Space heaters are fair. Thermostat can be revived for a few hours at a time using the old NES blow really hard in it trick. Lol fried heat sensor. Just waiting on the USPS to wake back up so mail flows again.
Interesting theory. Well presented. That would be a huge city - least plausible part of his theory. Just needs to prove it with something tangible now. - something carved in stone or metal would still exist somewhere under the proposed debris field.

@nuleafjhawk definitely is a thing. Life is short and fast, deserves a good hard look as it passes.

Wow man! Are these games televised?
I don’t think the game this Friday will be televised, but that could change. If it is, it probably will be regional. The playoff games have been streaming on NFHS network.
The California State Championship will almost certainly be televised out here but not sure about nationally (ESPN+??) There are absolute studs on some of these teams. I’m frankly amazed that my son is holding his own on the field with some of these 300 pounders. (To be fair, he struggled against Serra in the first meeting, but we’ve talked about how rare it is to get another crack at a team. He’ll have a chance to improve on Friday night.)
Ted Lasso is on board with the USMNT ! Billboard, that is.

The women played Germany again yesterday.
Totally got smoked and looked two steps behind in the first half. Totally overwhelmed.
Oddly, with the same team on the pitch, they had some nice individual effort to take the lead in the second half.
Still some issues with decision making and finishing in the final third.
I don’t watch the women’s game other than the USWNT. So, not sure how the teeny tiny Pugh and Smith do in their leagues. But, apparently they are stars? Both had goals, with nice individual efforts. Both also with some curious decisions in the 1st half. young, i guess.
Been reading a lot about how their midfield is just not cutting it, or at least within the 4-3-3 formation. I will say i used to LOVE Rose Lavelle. She’s really not done anything of note in the last few games i’ve watched. disappointing. Horan is a beast. i like her. Not sure about Sullivan. she was bloodied yesterday, just like Zach was the other day.
@dylans Great idea! Only problem is that first step of taking up golf…and then getting better than some 99.99% of all the other golfers.
I can tell you the first few million guys, like me, should be fairly easy to beat out!

He was the one on Friday advertising the episode!! Always liked him.
By coincidence, he and I both used to work at the same radio station in Topeka ! (About a dozen years apart, that is.)
