Hanging jersey's?
-
Just saw that Davidson will not retire/hang up Curry’s jersey until he has his degree.

This is unlike Texas that hung Durants Jersey after only one semester of classes.

I finally got my wife to hang my jersey yesterday for the first time.
Think it is probably dry now…
-
@drgnslayr my wife won’t let mine come out of the storage box it’s been in since before we got married.
Guess it will be worth more if it still smells like HS?
-
@JRyman High School or Horse Shi*

I think I have all my game jerseys packed away in a box in storage.
I don’t dare want those present in my current life… otherwise, all I will hear is “you sure can’t fit into those anymore.”
-
@drgnslayr ewe yeah there is that too.
Solid point! Just gonna keep those packed away.
You know until I was great!!
-
Plus… it is a bit depressing for me that all I have left from my playing days is a few tattered jerseys. My trophies somehow went missing after our last move. I never was the type to show that stuff off… they were permanently kept in a box, probably next to the box of jerseys.
-
@drgnslayr no trophies here either. Some medals in a box somewhere. I assume anyway.
I have a few scars from back then and well my headaches but I wouldn’t change a thing about my past or how I played.
I might have some grainy VHS game tapes by those medals?
Anyone got a VHS player laying around? Show my kids that dad…ah never mind they won’t care.
-
@JRyman I think that was LSU’s deal with Shaq as well. They didn’t retire his jersey until after he graduated.
-
@Texas-Hawk-10 surprised the NCAA hasn’t stepped in to make sure all schools follow the same rules to protect the “student” athlete.
I do like that as a prerequisite for one to have their Jersey in the rafters. The degree!
-
I remember Joe Montana telling a story that he kept his trophies in his TV room. When he got married, his wife had redecorated and moved them all to the garage.
-
I remember many years ago I was having some target practice with some bros and I took out one of my tallest trophies. Surprisingly… it held up pretty well until I unleashed the 12-guage shotgun to it. One blast… no more trophy.
I know there is a huge airplane salvage yard in Arizona.
Maybe someone needs to open up a salvage yard for all the old trophies.
-
@drgnslayr Trophies are ok as memories, just not as something to idolize.

Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain it.
Ok - sermon’s over for the day. Lol
