Ochai is more likely to turnover the ball if he catches it. He has been a turnover machine as of late. Obviously Dot and Moss are the go to guys when getting the ball in late when other teams are looking to foul. Marcus is as good as a ball handler as Dot and is the best passer on the team. That gives you a better chance once the ball is entered, Garrett shoots 62% from the line and Ochai 67% so you are pretty much a wash there. As @Crimsonorblue22 doing it quick is usually the best.

I think it was pretty obvious what happened to this team at this point. It prob ends up in the stack of teams where we are wonder what could’ve happened had injuries and other circumstances not showed their ugly head. I still say we are a 2 or 3 loss team easily winning the big 12 with Doke, Garrett healthy all season, SDS able to play and Vick playing like he did early in the season. But we can play the what if game all night as most people can in not only sports but life. What if Simien never go hurt in 03 or Mari and BMac were cleared in 2012? It sucks but its life…

I apologize to Doke. I had this thought when he got hurt that perhaps we might be better overall without him in the lineup. Wrong. This team has to play with two bigs to be at its best offensively as Self mentioned. SDS might alter that thinking. But right now, there is not doubt. Hi/Lo, bingo. Excellent thread.

@wissox Unfortunately that is what most of us believed for a long time but information that came up recently indicates KU was one whisker away from getting the death penalty for a number of violations by Larry Brown. Apparently the penalty was deserved, that is not to say that if the name was Duke or Kentucky, KU would not have gotten away with it.

@jayhawk-007 Of course it helps now that he recruits the entire country, unlike his days at KU when he wouldn’t go east of the Mississippi. What’s also amazing is he still gets top flight recruits in spite of the NCAA investigation hanging over UNC.

@jayhawk-007 good post. There definitely was a little more urgency on defense and we made them work and labor for every basket. Sign of improvement.

As I recall Bill claims to use the bulk of all practices on offense. That’s why you always hear him say we’ve practiced zone all of 10 minutes this year… I think the increased offensive production has less to do with practice time and more to do with the four guard lineup and Josh Jackson in place of Wayne Selden. Selden would disappear in 1/2 the games. Josh’s presence is always felt. Josh is making the most of the 40 potiental college games he can play. The Graham/Mason chemistry is off the charts and Josh has meshed seemlessly. If Vick can play to his potiental more often and a big man emerges the Jayhawks will be unstoppable.

We have a game Saturday against TCU.

@Lulufulu KU didn’t “surprise” people that much in 2008. We were a 1 seed too: all 4 1 seeds made it to San Antonio that year. We did surprise UNC a bit though…

Aaron Miles-- One of my favorites who has a great legacy in Jayhawk history… Perhaps another chapter still to be written…
