I apologize to Doke. I had this thought when he got hurt that perhaps we might be better overall without him in the lineup. Wrong. This team has to play with two bigs to be at its best offensively as Self mentioned. SDS might alter that thinking. But right now, there is not doubt. Hi/Lo, bingo. Excellent thread.
@dylans Holy smokes , where you live-- I’m not coming lol. - - Ya We are fine thanks for asking it was crazy weather for sure. - Like Dan said been a crazy summer - -really dry , shortly before all this yesterday earlier in the day like I said it was 101 and heat index 108. - - - just a lot of power outage and tree’s down. - But we are fine - -thanks again
Villanova has been more consistent than KU over the course of the full season. Like KU, they lost 3 of 6 during a stretch, but KU had a separate 2 game losing streak. So over the course of the season, you could argue that Villanova was the better team.
Villanova has played better during the tournament. No one has played Villanova within single digits yet during the tournament. KU has won their last three games by 4 points each.
So if you think Villanova had the slightly better regular season, and you also think Villanova is playing more dominantly right now, Villanova is the pick to win this game. Doesn’t mean KU can’t win. Just that this game, as @LSH says, probably favors the Wildcats.
It’s been a long week but I realized around Tuesday I needed this break in the action. I barely slept going into Sunday and barely slept Sunday night for work on Monday. That’s how much of an emotional roller coaster the game and win was. 2012 was a long time ago (at least it felt that way) so I had forgot what this joy of making the big stage felt like. I’m enjoying all of it and absolutely can keep soaking it in until Saturday Night. If the game goes as planned I expect to be running on adrenaline until who knows when, I might just have to take a few personal days next week to take it all in.
Brunson has had a great, DG has to snap outta his shooting slump, like on Sunday. DG I believe to be the most important player for a single team in the gam ethics season. I was impressed the guys held a solid lead with him sitting twice for a few moments, first time all yea did believe. Clemson got a very favorable whistle IMO, Doke and DG both had 2 fouls that were nothing short of laughable. The only call we got was when they tied up Newman and got a foul call instead, other than that I thought they got all the calls that could’ve gone ether way.
@Red.Rooster Thank you for that my friend. - -I mean I don’t know the kid personally ya know but - -you just have to ask why - why does this have to happen . - -just pray things will turn for him - thoughts and prayers. - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY
I expect so much more from Malik. He’s terrible right now. Drives 100 mph to nowhere. He needs to figure out how to play against length and equal athleticism.
Show some patience with Malik. He needs time to grow into his role.
Playing UK was the hardest on Malik because he is the guy that wants to drive the lane, and he doesn’t have the size to take it to UK. I don’t know how many of his shots were blocked, but I can easily imagine at least 4 of his shots were swatted. Kind of reminded me of our disastrous game with UK back when Frank was a freshman and UK seemed to block 100 shots that game (felt like it anyways).
Let’s hope he learned a lesson from this game. But it does take a huge effort and open mind to fix talents regarding driving to the hole. The hardest lesson is to learn a concept that seems counterproductive: slow down! The biggest key to successfully finishing in the paint is to slow down at the end so you can assess the defense and adjust to a successful finish. This requires being in control. Malik is not in control on his finishes right now. He’s making the mistake made by TT and Sherron when they were young. Trying to finish at full speed.
