Bramlage was about 3000 short of a full house. Against their biggest rival. Or at least most hated. Dave and Jeff on Jayhawk Gameday Live just said they don’t understand it. Why wouldn’t their fans show up?
Seems pretty clear to me. We own them, and it’s embarrassing for their fans. Tonight just backs that up.
-
Coach should get the game ball.
Och and JWill did post game. Coach told them more than once how much this game meant to he AND his dad. Said dajuan at halftime told the team he wasn’t going to let pack make as many as he did first half. 20 in 1st and 13 in 2nd.

HCBS postgame quote: “This might turn out to be a statement win.”
Ya think ?

@Crimsonorblue22 Nice birthday win for you. Congrats!

Happy Birthday

@BeddieKU23 Maybe they thought it wasn’t reviewable, so they huddled and “determined” that it was a 2 pt attempt.
In all seriousness, the most reasonable suggestion is that they called the foul prior to the shot as @nwhawkfan wrote.

anything under two minutes re viewable - -these idiots didn’t even look
I don’t think what @nwhawkfan wrote would be reviewable. If they thought it was a non-shooting foul, they can’t review that and then change it to a different foul.
-
KU outrebounded ksu by 22. Not great for the play hard chart.
-
@FarmerJayhawk Did you see Wallace WEEPING about CB throwing the ball into the stands as if they weren’t chanting F KU all game?
-
@Kcmatt7 Is there a rule against cheering for two teams? If you read correctly, I never questioned his fandom, I just asked him why whenever we’re losing a game he says that’s it, we’re going to lose.
-
@wissox Maybe saying we’re done is a reverse psychology
-
Hurts my head. There was nobody there when he shot. The guy came around the screen and slipped and fell into Agbaji’s leg on his way down from the shot. 3 people miss something so basic

That has to be one of the strangest games I’ve ever seen. It reminds me when we were down to WVU by 9 with 2 minutes to go, and we came back and won a few years back. You literally stop and go…how’d that happen? That’s why you can’t give up on this team.

I dunno, was listening to Coach on post game and he was talking about and Gurley was talking about how they didn’t even look and Coach saying he still wasn’t understanding it. - -Yet still we found the way to win against the odds what a great run
-
@BShark yeah that was phenomenal
-
They said in postgame this is the 1st time in over or at twent years KU has come back and won when being down 17 like that

If the foul was called prior to the shot, Dave would’ve been shooting those FT’s instead of Ochai because Ochai wasn’t touched until after he was in the air shooting. Refs just screwed up on that call plain and simple.

Pretty kind revision of what you actually said, which was that he didn’t deserve to celebrate the win… Over a shitpost he makes like every single game lol.
But no rule against rooting for two teams. Seems very loyal of you.

How are KSU fans doing?
Lmao I love that people think KSU will be able to find another Huggins. They had Underwood and kept Brucey instead… get what you deserve
They had Frank Martin too that had them in the Elite 8 and regularly ranked.

Two late after the fact observations. Remy missed shots and defense was an issue as always, BUT - when he is in the game and dribbling without much seeming purpose or direction, he commands attention and the court opens up for the rest of the guys - our offense as a whole is better when we have 2 true guards. Regarding Dave, he played a big role with his rebounding. The key was that there were less than a handful of plays run for him, and none of his 4 buckets came on those. By not making him play with his back to the basket, where he is very inefficient, it frees him up to face the basket and go after rebounds - and doesn’t clog the paint.
-
@tis4tim much happier with that win! Now I’m needing a chiefs wins. Don’t ask for much huh? Thx!
-
What were the letters and or numbers on coaches pullovers?
-
@Crimsonorblue22 oh found it
-
@Texas-Hawk-10 I was only speculating over why what @nwhawkfan reported would not be reviewable, not asserting that the refs were right if they did make such a call. I thought my 2 tongue in cheek absurd explanations showed that I think the refs must have erred (sorry, @BeddieKU23, if my facetiousness did not come through).
-
I had a feeling you were but for a while it was just hard to wrap my head over such an easy call gone wrong. If that had cost us the game I can’t imagine the storm that would be going on about it
-
Agbaji tied his season high with 29.
It’s his 11th game over 20 pts. He makes this team as good as they are. He probably earned some real POY points Today

OCh has become that Alpha I spoke of. A guy that is more then willing to step up this yr and wanting to take that shot at crucial time. - He is I think the leader I’ve been looking for . In past yrs he would of not been anywhere to be found he had a tendency to disappear - - not so this yr. - -I think this truly was a statement game for the guys

I have a confession to make. I pretty much gave up on this game. I had to watch the replay late at night, was tired and cranky and started fast forwarding when we were down a ton of points. I ended up at the moment late in the game when they were wondering why Och wasn’t shooting 3 FTs. Somehow it worked out. No clue how they came back, but happy they did.
A quick look at the box score tells me Och and Wilson were the offensive studs. Dave too.
Starting to worry about Braun’s lack of scoring ability in league play. I’d have to go back and look at his game numbers, but seems like he’s come back to earth? I did see he made some nice plays though.
Always good to win on the road. Hard not to be critical, but always nice to beat the purple pussycats.

Braun was who kept the game “close” most of the game. He was the answer to every kstate run. Whether it was a three when the crowd was roaring or a drive and free throws to end a drought. He didn’t score a lot but every time he did was important.

Bill was drawing up plays for Och late instead of Dave.

Shouldn’t be any other way tbh. Och with the ball in his hand has either made the play that set up the winner or made the game winner in 3 of our last 4 games. He is shining under pressure. It’s great to see
-
This team is learning how to win. They looked tough in the 2nd half. Och was on a level I had never seen before. He took over the game- he wasn’t playing. I’ve been waiting so long to see that determination and moxie from him. The whole team was literally flying all over the court. They wanted to get this win for Coach Self, and found a way.

Gotta put your best player in a position to make plays for sure.
The 3 and the short range shot for Och against KSU late was the same play with a different decision by Och.
End of the OU game was a whole lotta Och too.

Juan’s attitude is infectious. That’s why he is a leader and Bill loves him. You bet your ass Och/JWill etc could see the way he was getting up on Pack the 2nd half.
-
I think this team is so poised the whole game. No overt displays on either end. After every play they you can watch their faces and the look is "I need to get back or I need to get into the correct position. Even Remy when he misses an assignment seems to acknowledge that and moves where he should be. He’s gonna explode one of these games. His defense not because of lack of effort. He passes up in rhythm shots and clanks up outside of the flow. He was 1/6 Fg with 3 assists.
Jalen is a one stoic tough stud who will stick his nose into any place that needs it. Good ffinisher at the rim too.Dave is only mysterious to himself. Never complains just gives it his all.
-
That game took KUs D rating on Kenpom from 33rd to 46th
Definitely still work to be done putting two half’s together. This team can guard when they want to. At least the starting 5 can
-
I think we are just seeing normal up and downs from players like Braun. He was killer in the non conference where he feasted on guys who couldn’t stop him from getting to the basket. He is still impacting the game on both ends as we saw by the OU game winner or the fact he is 3rd in the conference in blocks as a wing. He boards, he has toughness and had 5 assists yesterday. He is missing some shots that went in earlier as his fg % has dipped in conf play but I do think we are going to see him continue to be one of our 4 most important players the rest of the season.
I think the emergence of Wilson is also taking pressure off Braun since he has been in the starting lineup. Remy really wasn’t scoring when he started so Braun had to shoulder more scoring and there was that 7 or so game stretch he was just on fire. CB is a good 2nd or 3rd option on offense with the ability to take over games if needed or exploit favorable matchups. He is 100% a better player then he was last yr and confidence is finally there for him to take advantage

Deserved after that first half like holy crap.
-
@BeddieKU23 I generally agree about Braun, but his poor shooting against better teams is a concern going forward. Biggest difference this year is he isn’t a black hole when his shot isn’t falling. He’s still finding other ways to positively impact games which he didn’t do last season and has been huge for this team.
I also still believe this team has to find a way to get Remy going on offense if they’re going to have any chance of making a run in the NCAA Tournament.
