The Slant had a good podcast today. Kirby was saying they’ve already done 400+ evals, lined up 20-30 visits, and could get 10+ commits over the next 10 days. And that overall the talent level will be better. I’m not sure I buy that but if it comes to fruition it’ll be a fun couple weeks.

Man it hurts to see Marko has broken up as he was after the game. Say what you want about his game, but he really, really cares and loves being a Jayhawk.

Always a good day to beat down the slavers. DP did what he was supposed to. The supporting cast really showed out. Mari continues to impress me.

We’re so much better with Melvin as PG. DP is obviously great but we tend to stagnate when he’s primarily on the ball.

DP played 31 minutes (season high) but his hammy got tight late. It’s pretty clear to me he’s just not quite in game shape yet. The burst is almost there, but needs a little more time to come back entirely.

Saying we’re Indiana is silly. They haven’t made the second weekend in a decade and haven’t won a title in my lifetime. Ditto UCLA. They’ve missed the tournament a handful of times over the last decade. Especially lol at Louisville, who’s a never was and not that long ago won 4, 8, and 13 games in consecutive seasons. I get hyperbole is your thing but this one is something

Football is the AD’s big revenue raiser and if we want a ticket into the P2 it has to be a huge priority. I’ve waived the red flag about this for years but some were like meh whatever an additional $30m+ per year in tv money isn’t important. Well when we can’t afford an elite basketball hire or to buy out Lance if this year goes south those folks should just be happy we still get to play ISU every year.

I was talking to a good friend of KJ Adams earlier and the vibe around the program is Bill probably calls it. Early names I’d watch: Ben McCollum and Ryan Odom. I’m sure they’ll run the race with May, Golden, etc. but not sure they’re gettable.

@rockchalkjayhawk yes and no. Every school has a hard cap on RevShare and those amounts get negotiated in advance. So sure you can pay a player but it’s only a fixed amount.

@approxinfinity I don’t disagree, but the NIL rules are just that. Name, image, and likeness. You’re not allowed to do anything other than that.
