@Jayhawk_69 There is no bill, only the executive orders. As is his custom, President Trump is attempting to create another wide swath of executive authority by fiat rather than by making a legislative proposal to Congress. He cannot revise antitrust law by executive order, nor can he demand concessions by funding cutoffs not related to the authorizations creating those funds. He can try, but courts are curtailing his reach in doing so right and left. As with the law firms who capitulated, some schools will try to voluntarily impose these limits on their students but there is no hope that courts will not continue to find liability. An EA is no defense. More likely, schools will realize they face legal substantial liability if they comply and will sue to enjoin enforcement by DOJ. Bottom line, the president cannot compel people to break numerous laws.

RE: Darryn Peterson
Lots of speculating going on, with people thinking they can read minds. Let's all get mad and assume bad faith by a player who may well be in the midst of being far more frustrated than all of our fan-doctors.

@ROCKCHALK2025 As a judge for 19 years, I found the legal principal of requiring evidence to draw conclusions applies pretty well to analyzing everything in life. In other words, speculation alone isn't probative. But speculation can generate theories about things, but theories without evidence are pretty hollow, so best usually to wait for actual facts.

RE: Money next year
@approxinfinity HEM always wanted to get rid of Self b/c he only won 1 title and didn't keep gettng into the F4. Then HEM disappeared (during Covid I think), and Bill won a second title a couple of years later. The "What have you done for me lately?" impatience is ridiculous considering all the drastic challenges facing coaches.

@rockchalkjayhawk I would root against Duke if Ted Bundy was the opposing coach
Ted's team would just eat 'em alive.

LB Leo Chenal to Washington. 3 yrs, $24.75 mil. This one bothers me.
Maxx Crosby trade has been nixed by the Ravens after his physical. Likely more to it.

@ROCKCHALK2025 the guy from Utah state wanted to finish out this season before heading to manhattan. KSU said no dice and moved down the list.
That guy dodged a bullet, big time.

@RockChalkinTexas-0 Our kids and grandkids live on Maui. I watched my son making plumeria leis from flowers he picked last Christmas for the nurses who work at the health facility where my DIL is CEO. She and my son always do a major bake as well for the office Christmas party. The streets where they live are just flooded with plumeria trees and it is spectacular!
Never realized how much work it would be to grow one in the contiguous states. Congrats!

RE: KU ROSTER 2026-27
If Missouri offers millions to a guy who has minimal Round 1 opportunity in the future, I got no problem with that someone making a financial decision. Days of an athlete wearing his letter sweater back home at the shake shop with everyone sitting in awe of him are quite over.

The Iowa State Cyclones had five transfers on campus this weekend; all five committed. Remarkable.
Anyone willing (brave enough?) to visit Ames is quite likely to already be 90% interested in ISU anyway.

@DCHawker UNC getting returnees "despite" a new coach makes some sense. Malone's background in the NBA and his contacts there may make guys feel like that could increase their pro chances. At least they could get a new coach while remaining somewhere they are familiar with.

And most of the fans here will say Bill can't adapt no matter which strategy he tries.

RE: Gary Woodland still dealing with repercussions
After a decent 1st round (-1) and mediocre 2nd and 3rd (+7 total) at Augusta National, Woodland started the day in @51st place at +6. 4th round was a charm, though: 6 under par for the day with 6 birdies and bogey free, so ended up even par for the Masters. Tied at 36th for the moment, but likely to end up @40th the way scores are going. GREAT recovery!!!
