My wife watched me as I watched the last 4 minutes of the game. Now I’m in time out.

RE: Sams club game chat
Samford played their average game which is forcing 17 turnovers, scoring 86 points per game and making over 10 three pointers at 40+ %. We on the other hand made a few more turnovers than average, hit about twice as many treys as usual and scored almost 20 points more than our average for the last half of the season. We shoot lousy from deep and make risky passes that are our SOP. The flagrant technical was a deliberate attack on Hunter’s injured shoulder and when Hunter missed both free throws the guy celebrated like an a##hole.

RE: Tracking the Outgoing KU transfers
Tough time for young Mr. Adams. Always miss my mom. Share croppers daughter from the now defunct Galia community about 70 mi straight south of Lawrence. Missouri Educator of the year circa 1980. Special Ed teacher and leader from the start of Title One. Bachelor degree from KSTC Pittsburg and Masters and Education Specialis degrees from Emporia State. All the while raising four boys and three girls. Kansas girls are the best. Sweet sweet mom. Her first teaching job was in Oakley Kansas about 1940.

RE: Basketball Season
I know I had mentioned my grandnephew an AA RB out of SDSU. He made the Jets final 53 man roster as the #3 rb and is one of the two deep return guys on kickoffs. Also he is on kickoff coverage every time. #32.

RE: Zach SZN Game Thread
Just finished watching the game. Dominated the first half and also outscored them in the second. Giving WV some props for getting within 14 pts. Some observations: In the paint we went 20 for 29 including 9 straight made at one point. Dave seemed to move very well and the team looked rested and quick. JWill is always guarding forwards and did a good job today all around. Och was getting open against the most stingy D in the conference. Dajuan is a big asset on both ends of the floor. CB had a winning double double and his defense was Self swarming. Yesfu is so quick and springy and when he gets it under control will be awesome. JCL is a walking trey with a quick release and he can move also. Again we saw how good KJ is with defense and passing and and look out! Zach does some lunch pail work on D and that reverse layup was stunning.
Loved this game and team today.

RE: Let the slobberfest begin
Another observation about tomorrow. Thanks for the idea nwhawkfan.
The “experts” think Kansas can win it all and one article titled something like anonymous observations from opposing coaches said that KU is as talented as any team this year. Then one coach said we have seen Kansas win 32 games by playing really well during parts of games but we have not seen Kansas play a complete game at their best. Truth and we have seen the same thing about the team. We come out flat and trail at the half making it harder to win or we come out blazing and get to 20 points very quickly and then go five minutes scoreless. We let some teams hang with us as a result. The bottom line was if KU plays at their best for an entire game we will beat them all.

RE: 2021-22 PER's & Stats
Hubert Davis said he was told KU was hard to defend because you can defend some but you need to stop them all and that’s not gonna happen. Self thought five minutes into the second half there was no way we could defend like this for the rest of the game but we did. I think it was Barkley who said Kansas was the only team who could have won like we did because every player hit big shots. Jalen, Remy, Och, Christian and Dave just took turns keeping us in it until it was all over. Juan and Och had 5 TO’s and everyone else three total but Juan had three steals and Och had one. NC got numerous second or third chance shots but were guarded and blocked just enough to limit their success. Bacot and Davis had six offensive rebounds each but were just a combined 8 out of 30 from the floor. We won this puppy because we were clearly the better team and came up clutch over and over. We gave them a huge gift and then took it back.

RE: KU vs Oklahoma St Game Chat
Well the BPI shows our final conference record 9 wins and 8 losses. 2.6% chance of winning the conference. Whew, the pressure is off thank goodness and we can play loose and chuck up treys like carpet bombing.

RE: KState game thread
Our formula going forward is we have three scorers Hunt, Mayo and Juan and we need more points from them every game like this as there is none coming elsewhere. I would say 55 - 60 which they can get. Our bench is just not going to hit threes like I hoped. This way we will be in any game and that’s all we can ask. Good home win.

RE: KState game thread
KSU is running their offense smoothly and getting open shots if they are down it’s not because of our defense.

If you are talking about my statements then you may be right. But you cannot mean that about Butt Cheek Jones’ side straddle release!

RE: Looking back at Hilton
Hunter made two decisions to take it easy and not over exert himself and ISU hustled and got possession. One was followed by an ISU three dagger. They played us tougher than we could handle but in spite of our bad passing we still got good looks but couldn’t convert. It looks like Juan, Zeke and a top five recruiting first year class of three and four stars who we thought and they thought were likely one and done guys. Our basic offense just looks like a road to nowhere. I go into games thinking it will finally click and the pent up talent will explode. I haven’t given up but hurry up before I give out. Of course it is hard to win when Cyclone Jones who shoots with one butt cheek facing the basket is making 30 footers.
