  @Buster-1926 Last Night even though Trae made some really sweet passes- - there was times during the game and especially during a critical part when OU was trying to make a comeback I think they actually pulled within 4 at a couple different occasions right? Trae came down and made or took some very poorly timed - -very ill advised low percentage shots. - -You know the one’s I’m talking about some of those patented 35 footers where it was like one dribble shoot or heave more like it - - taking some forced drives through the paint - -like going one on three - -at critical times he just went brain dead - -very poor decision making. His team mates didn’t do him any favors I mean what did James end up with? - -2 points? - - - McNeese - -nothing - -Doolittle - what ? - -squat. - yet they were making a comeback and Trae taking the wrong type of shot at the wrong point and time of the game - definitely a momentum killer when you jack up a shot like that

  @wissox Unfortunately that is what most of us believed for a long time but information that came up recently indicates KU was one whisker away from getting the death penalty for a number of violations by Larry Brown. Apparently the penalty was deserved, that is not to say that if the name was Duke or Kentucky, KU would not have gotten away with it.

  Just like when Embiid went down. Hard to see a happy ending here. (I won’t even mention a certain magazine cover curse here) But… on the other hand, I was ready to write these guys off a couple times earlier this season too and they showed me they have a lot of grit. If everyone else puts on their big boy pants, we just might be surprised. It ain’t over til it’s over.

  @justanotherfan But that may help KU in the long run. Too many games in the comfy confines of Allen Fieldhouse may be a bad thing for an experienced roster that needs challenged…or a good thing for a roster that needs confidence. or a good thing due to a bloated record inflating our seed. Or a good thing because it generates a boatload of money. Or a good thing because @crimsonorblue22 and I can go see KU play in Allen Fieldhouse, the only place one should watch our beloved Jayhawks in person? Hell we should play all 40 games in Allen Fieldhouse. The other teams would surely appreciate the historical nature of the venue.

College coaches are paid so much because they don’t share funds with players. They are paid in accordance with how much revenue their programs produce. Even though coaches never score any points, the players they develop are responsible for winning games that does influence the amount of income to universities. Coaches change but the support for the university is still there; for the players on the court. Going all the way back to Dick Harp, new coaches at KU have inherited very good talent when they took the reins. The FACE was there before they took the job. Hope it continues that way. ROCK CHALK JAYHAWK!

  Ditto everyones sentiments. I love our Jayhawks, always will. But, they just got their asses handed to them by Okie state. I am officially tempering my expectations even further for the remaining guaranteed games. 1 Big 12 tourney game and 1 NCAA tourney game.

Bane because his FG% is ridiculous, is built like a football player and led the Big-12 in 3 pt %. Smith for being one of the Top 5 athletes in the country, having that versatility to play him in the 4 spot like Jackson last year and his non-stop motor to make plays. As good as Bamba is defensively and he is elite around the rim I think Doke would fit better with those 4. Bamba likes to roam the perimeter too much to show off for the Draft. Either Shaka misused talent again or it was Bamba.

  @HighEliteMajor Yeah, this is the best I have ever seen by any coach. Any number of all time greats might have been able to do it, but I don’t recall any that circumstance forced them into doing. The only thing comparable to this was the guys at NASA under Gene Kranz “turning this into this” to get Apollo 13 back. I still have no clue how he did it. I mean he shifted gears and redialed schemes so many times, that his shifting arm and dialing hand has to suffer repetitive stress syndrome. It was virtuoso coaching in the middle of a fecal storm. I don’t know how they won that game in Morgantown. I don’t know how they won several games. I don’t know how he masked how bad of a free throw shooting team this is. I don’t know how he got so much scoring out of a post man that can largely only dunk. I don’t know how he got by with Mitch as a back up. I don’t know how he backed up all the perimeter positions when he only had Marcus Garret for a backup. It is simply genius. There is no other way to explain it. Coach K, Roy, Calipari, these guys would all be .500 right now. I’m not even sure Self knows how he did it. That’s what makes me sure its a large portion genius. Unless something comes out later indicating the college game is as fixed as it appears to be at times, this is the best coaching job I ever saw in a single season, even if he loses the first round of the NCAA. If he makes a run for a ring with this team, then they should build him a separate wing at the BHOF. Go, Bill, go!

  I don’t see any reason why board rats aren’t applauding this KU team for helping to improve the chances of a fellow conference member get in the Big Carney. I also don’t see why board rats are stewing about this loss. If we lose game 1 of the conference tourney, it will be because its pointless. If we lose game 2 of the conference tourney, it will be because its pointless. If we lose game 3 of the conference tourney, it will be because it is pointless. If we lose the first weekend of the Big Carney, it will be because we shot poorly from three, or because Self was amping one game and not the other. If we lose the second weekend, it was because either we shot poorly from trey, or we ran into a better team. If we lose the third weekend, it was because we shot poorly from trey. That was easy.
