@BShark What is not being spoken in this discussion is the marketing of players at KU. There is a definite TV payoff for playing at KU where people know you, recognize you, and follow you. Now, simply playing here does not mean you’ll automatically be drafted, but getting publicity never hurts. If Billy had been a double digit scorer on a Final four team, he might’ve gotten more looks.
Exactly what I was thinking. The NBA drafts on potiental. Preston wasn’t able to display his upside so he slipped well out of the first round. With a little productive play at KU (or Duke or Kentucky) and he likely would’ve gotten a guaranteed contract.
