@bskeet wish we could get a steak like that going

Limping thru the finish line. Glad they got a postseason win.
KEPT THAT ALIVE
-
I think McDowell – Furphy - – Clemence - - & man I hope for sure Jackson is out – I mean gone
-
At least the announcer recognized that this was not a normal year for Kansas.
-
I’ll give some credit to Timberlake. Obviously not the close anyone wanted but he strung together some decent performances which is impressive given the largely godawful body of work that was provided for the majority of the season

Glad we won one game. In the tourney.
First half had my hopes up.
Second half was an embarrassment. But Gonzaga has their Sweet 16 streak alive.
Crazy as consistently good as Few has had them, that they have zero championships.
-
Why did they foul?

Boy that WAS the statement of the year, I wonder how they managed to figure that out lol
-
@kuballin10 yeah… probably right. Never had worse than a 4 seed in the tourney and haven’t missed it under Bill. Just terrible.

We’ve got the record streak for consecutive tourney appearances. A different but equally valid metric for excellence.
-
I thought I heard the KU fans chanting “We’re number one!”
Then I figured out it was “We’re NO ONE”
-
Did we make any adjustments at halftime?
-
@bskeet Not good ones.
-
@approxinfinity Thanks for another entertaining season.
-
It really just came down to shooting and defense. I don’t think we guarded worth a hoot. I’m not sure they guarded great. According to the shot chart we missed about 20 shots within 5 feet. We actually made 9 threes and they made 8. We just turned into a bad defensive team in January and I don’t understand why we just didn’t move to obtain position. If you go watch the UK, Tennessee or UConn game we look good on that end.
-
Had one good point of attack defender after mccullar got injured
-
Again - -THE LADIES WON - -SHOWED MOXY being down late and forcing overtime – -WAY TO GO LADIES
-
@bskeet think we also have the nations longest round of 64 wins record at 17.
-
@PharmacyHawk You quoting seed and I’m quoting round we got knocked out 4/5 years (32)……
It’s like being ranked pre season number 1 this year how’d that turn out?
Bill and his d2 pg who almost lost the title stepping ob on an inbounds play
Bill’s eye for talent is waning. He keeps repeating the best pure pg in America as if to convince himself these days….
-
Gonzaga 37-6 run in the 2nd half. - -They are not that good - - -& we re not that bad- - let me modify by saying Normally
-
@kjayhawks a 20+ point ass whoopin personally doesn’t make that seem too important at the moment.
-
A stat I hate is Self continues to struggle miserably in second games of the weekend. We have gone home now 4 of the past 5 tournaments in the round of 32. I know he has a losing record in the elite 8 but this round can’t be much over .500 at this point.
-
@jayballer67 thanks for the “normally” part.
-
@kuballin10 You’re totally right man. Seeds really dont show any kind of consistency… If only you were on the staff! Man. That’d be something. Hey, Kentucky may have openings soon, you could probably lead them to more consistent success!
-
A huge sigh of relief… it’s over!
I believe this ended up being Self’s worst year and will be for his Kansas career. Now on to brighter pastures!
NCAA behind us… Recruit! Recruit! Recruit!

@drgnslayr Bill needs to get to work and get some guys in the door here.
-
@FarmerJayhawk Rough day. Hopefully UNC turns it around
-
@KirkIsMyHinrich oof yeah this isn’t fun
-
@FarmerJayhawk sorry but go Spartans
-
Jeez, I watched the first half and felt confident. I look up in the second half and wtf happened? The D got worse I presume. Yikes.
-
@rockchalkjayhawk in all fairness the d was much of the same. They actually scored less in the second half we just couldn’t hit shots to save our lives.
-
Yea, I was afraid our lights out shooting would cool off. They looked very beatable too. Eff.
-
@rockchalkjayhawk yes when you look at the stats their 2 point shooting was the difference. We actually made more 3s and only had 6 less rebounds shooting literally half of what they did. We had a ton of good looks as well. Wide open 3s and layups. It’s the same game as the first half if we make those.
-
Wellp, looking forward to see how we reload. Hope we keep Furphy.
-
Also, feel free to root for my alma mater JMU with me against Duke if you need a surrogate.

Ran out of gas. Playing a very fast pace with the starters a full 40 minutes on Thursday to playing a very fast pace the first half today at elevation with essentially 6 players and the second half, they were missing stuff short and moving slower so they just ran out of gas. You could also see it coming in the 1st half too towards the end with Gonzaga getting a bunch of easy looks at the rim.
Even aside for the skill perspective, having playable depth next season has to be the top priority in recruiting.
-
@approxinfinity I always cheer for the underdogs when aren’t aren’t playing
-
in short, we shot exceptionally well in the first half and exceptionally poorly in the second half.
Gonzaga shot consistently well throughout the game.
Shame on our defense. But even with great D, not sure we could win given our abysmal shooting.
-
@approxinfinity But it feels weird to root for the “Dukes.” As if Duke multiplied and made even more people miserable.

It will be massive redo. - – -Timberlake is gone, - -I think Furphy is 50/50 - -although as we saw he is not ready – Kevin - -gone , Braun is gone- - -Not sure about Mcdowell – looking like maybe 6-7 out. We need SHOOTER - - SHOOT - -SHOOT -SHOOT

That’s what I was saying in the 2nd hlf. - -Few’s halftime speech - - RUN , RUN , RUN , push the Pace Ku had nothing left to give way to easy. As you said no legs- nothing they were done
-
@approxinfinity Wow, didn’t know you were a JMU grad! Congrats, yes of course we’re all Dukes now.
-
Thanks, I agree that the team is quite physical, but that seems to be rewarded in the tournament, and combined with relentless depth it can dictate the terms of the game, like what VCU did to us, or what VCU did to Duke when they had Eric Maynor.
It should be a lot more fun watching Duke get beat up than KU or Wisconsin.
Give Filipowski something to really cry about!
-
@approxinfinity I’m just surprised you graduated jk no malice
-
@kjayhawks that makes two of us

Filipowski just anothr in a long line of dirty players from Duke -Led By Grayson Allen
-
-
@jayballer67 Nah, Grayson was never a leader. He just was an enthusiastic late enrollee in the Laettner School of Bad Sportsmanship.
-
@mayjay yes, Allen’s chapter in Coach K’s book of cheating is “How to Cheat While Lying Down on the Court”
