Hope Yes is ok. Box score doesn’t show how much he impacted game.

@FarmerJayhawk Been thinking about trying for a ticket. Just hard for me because I’m not sure about the UT fans NOT wearing masks. I’m more about protecting myself than seeing the team this time around.
Makes sense! Though don’t Texas hoops fans usually socially distance in Erwin?
-
-
@jayballer67 Their real fans will be down on 6th street. They don’t want to be embassased
-
KU 52 % – Baylor 29 % - Baylor 7-27 on three’s - -KU I think they said 46 rebounds - -Baylor 37
-
@FarmerJayhawk Great description for lack of fans!
-
@FarmerJayhawk Their excuse for so many empty sears
-
@jessejayhawk NOT when we come to town. Only time I’ve ever seen it full with more than a 1/3 of us Hawks.
-
Does 13-5 win the league? Say worst case we lose 4 more times I think 13-5 at worst ties for the lead looking at Tech and Baylor’s remaining schedules
-
@RockChalkinTexas Where u at in TX?
-
Post game Bill loves Harris - no surprise always likes the least offensive talented player who tries hard
Side note: Harris was terrific tonight
Joe - not as terrific needs to attack twice as much as he shoots. Defensively was okay but didn’t impact like ISU.
-
Yesufu is fine
-
@jessejayhawk 45 miles west of Austin out by Lake Travis. On the other side of Willie’s Briarcliff studio and golf course. Across from the Pale Face Ranch boat launch. Beautiful!

Chicago toughness. Much more of a Bill guard than Remy.
-
@BeddieKU23 good deal we need him to keep hounding people on D and attacking
He had one drive he gave up bad but otherwise defensively was solid. Would like a 2-3 steals like isu where he’d just strip the ball away but Baylor’s guards are obviously much better than isu’s
-
@RockChalkinTexas Thanks, daughter lived in Austin several years. Got to know the town a little bit, and learned to hate the traffic. Other than that, really enjoyed Austin.

I just don’t see us losing 5. - probably Baylor at Baylor , I just feel we will take Texas probably twice. Sure they beat ISU’s ass today BUT ISU has trouble scoring the ball. - -Were done with Tech. - -I think we sweep TCU I think the K/State game won’t be as close at the phog let’s see who ele , Don’t really think Oklahoma will beat us at the Phog . - -Maybe- - -Maybe lose to WV there- - Okie state not beating us at the phog - -I know I’m missing some but thats only 3 losses Texas defense is solid but I don’t think it’s as strong as Tex’s Tech solid
-
TCU beat lsu we can easily slip up there…they are underrated right now
L’s at Baylor (unless Bill let’s us fast break again) At Texas - they are athletic as heck we don’t fair well At hack Virginia - see our track record
Maybe at tcu
Think we win the rest at home
So it’s 14-4 or 13-5 depending on tcu
-
That moved our Kenpom D to 30th
-
Watching post game, pretty cool to see how much these 3, Och, cb, and j will love KU.
-
-
@benshawks08 did Fran say that? I was rewinding to see the play? I can’t believe he took the time to do that or that Fran threw him under the bus!

This is my biggest issue with Yesufu and why I’m not on board with handing him the keys to the offense. When he’s on, he’s a great a player, but he’s extremely inconsistent. I honestly didn’t even realize he played almost half the game today because he completely disappeared out there for long stretches.
Harris is the more consistent player and that’s the biggest reason why Self loves him and others like him that maybe don’t have as high a ceiling as someone like Yesufu, but consistently play closer to their ceiling on a much more consistent basis as well.
This is the frustration with Dave too because we all know what his ceiling is, but he’s also been pretty inconsistent this year as well. Even though Dave didn’t shoot well today, I’ll still take this Dave every game because he got to the line a bunch today and made his FT’s and rebounded with aggression.
KU got 17 and 13 from the 5 spot today, I’ll take that every game and this was by far KU’s most complete and best game of the season. Just wish they could’ve kept it over 30 at the end.
-
@Texas-Hawk-10 I think it was pretty clearly an ass-kicking
Could Yesufu be more consistent with consistent minutes? Maybe he just needs volume?

Even with volume like he had last year, he’s not at that level yet. That’s probably the biggest reason he ended up as a mid major recruit, especially coming out of a market as competitive as Chicago is.

Scott Drew is now 6-27 against KU.

Lists of coaches I would like all our opponents to be coached by
Scott Drew
Cuonzo Martin
Mike Anderson
Anyone feel to add on to this, it’s a fluid list.

Bruce Weber, Fran!
-
Can definitely see what you’re saying. Tools he’s got them but his shot ain’t great and he needs to go shadow Frank for an entire summer. Someone get Frank to Lawrence for the summer and pay him plus expenses to train our guards (best jump I’ve ever seen in a player).
Joe gets his right elbow so far in front of his body he’s like the anti chicken wing jump shooter…needs a tweaking.
He also needs to drive every time with a purpose. Shoot 3 three’s a game and unless you’re 2/3 don’t bother chucking again.
Harris just limits us title wise against athletic teams who also have skill (Auburn, duke, tucky, zags ect).
5 spot was good BECAUSE we didn’t feed the post it was fast break to start and it opened things up to feed the post when Baylor finally got back and we ran controlled half court sets.
Other feeding of the post was from dribble drive and yes, we still had the we are absolutely throwing it into the post possessions but that isn’t how we started the game nor should it ever be ever again…Bill.

@Kcmatt7 going two guards when the 2nd one is fully healthy and an athletic freak helps.
If Bill used him at tech to just be that annoyance on D think we would be undefeated in big 12.
Where’s @benshawks08 - that dude trusted Self and this team to win the big 12 when I 100% doubted them.
While playing wrong lineups we went 6-1…uk loss with those athletes and then och out really helped force Bill’s hand and reconsider things.
-
@Jethro he’s a cornball but a good coach.
Watch Our Time on espn it’s a cool view
-
Our best defensive game of the year. We held them to .078 points per possession.

Never bet against bill winning the league.

@benshawks08 I want him to emphasize titles over big 12 but one is a stepping stone to another. Gotta play the big 12 games might as well win them

Well with our defense thre is only one way to go and that’s up - So this is a good start

Metrics like 30 point stompings.

I enjoy the moment but always think about how good are we really. We pick apart everyone which leads to thinking how we want it to be instead of facing reality.
I’m solid with JWill and Dajuan. Dajuan hasn’t exploded but he’s better and better. JWill is a baller and suspect passer but so are the rest in that regard. I never know what to expect from The Dave and The Mitch game to game so F***.Och was getting POY reviews but currently that seems a little much although since the Reverend Mr. Braun (apologies to the Kingston Trio) was hot and then swooned and is coming around to what he was then maybe Och will score 20 plus every game again. They are mostly, and have to be, our rocks.
We are going to beat some good teams in the post season or at least we should. Whatever that means.
I am very concerned about our pinball handling of the ball. It’s like WTF guys just grab it already. And let us not forget our fear of making shots from three feet on in.
Overall we are progressing but it is not a smooth progression.
-
@Zabudda think the post season this year like most will depend on matchups. We can beat good teams but have weaknesses certain types of good teams can exploit.
-
Ahh, a late night stress-less DVR experience. Love it. Hey, did anybody hear anything on Joe’s injury? He OK or did his knee explode???
-
Self said he is fine. Thought Joe got scared by it but didn’t think it would be an issue going forward
-
KU has 8 quad 1 wins now. Tops in nation

Exactly and matchups are a mystery. And this must be why our posts are calling for Yesman and TreyCL to keep getting closer to make matchups impact other teams personnel.
Self likes W’s. We want another title or three but this year a deep run gets us IDK.
-
@BeddieKU23 But that is impossible with those 2 shitty guys starting instead of a guy who had one good game! OMG, HCBS should be fired for all those crappy lineups!!!

Maybe he will have 5 shitty guys starting by the end of the season
-
@mayjay the best we’ve looked is when he’s figured out the lineups and played one guy that many have clamored for all year…
So for the analysis of Joe impacting this team… Message board idiots - 1 Self - 0
