  First point, do not under any circumstances burn any redshirts unless it’s an absolute emergency. I hope we don’t get blown out again, but if we do I wouldn’t mind seeing MacVittie get some garbage time snaps. Lets just try like hell to get to 4 wins. That beats expectations and demonstrates things are getting better. Then wait for the breakout in 21 or 22.

The reason the 2019 class was the mess that it was is because Beaty was a lame duck coach going into the season so recruiting was hurt due to that. If Beaty wasn’t on the hot seat in 2018 either, that class would look very different as well and he would’ve had a solid 2019 class as well. Beaty came to KU with a reputation as a good recruiter and he absolutely upgraded the talent at KU. It was most other aspects of coaching that he was subpar at. KU was about 5 plays away from being a bowl team in 2018. They aren’t far away now either. KU is a QB away from being 4-2 this year. For all the crap Beaty gets, he left Les Miles in a much better position than what Charlie Weis left Beaty in. good point - -nd like we both say - -just really in need of that Quality QB

  @Texas-Hawk-10 they let the DBs play except the 4th down, weak a$$ PI on Defense. Like I said last night, I rewatched it and the total was 19 that WV did the same or worse with no calls. I love a physical game but you have call it consistently. The refs didn’t cost KU the game Stanley’s turnovers did but every questionable call went WVs way and that doesn’t help in a tight one.

  @FarmerJayhawk I need to go back and re-watch the game and grab some video. There were a several plays where the offensive line just completely wiped out the D line and linebackers. My wife even said, “I’m getting tired of you cheering about the ‘textbook’ blocking.” We don’t have the biggest and strongest guys on the line, but they deserve a lot of credit.

  @jhawk7782 ya I would say Todd Ressing injuring his groin in that game was a big factor in our tail spin and sweet Lou’s drama. I’m worried about too much optimism at this point. People are already whispering bowl game. People were saying the same after we whipped Rutgers a year ago. I’ll say it the same as I did then after our lone loss was to Nichols, I just cant see dropping a home game against that bad of a team and making one. We needed that win badly. I would say we have an outside shot at one of we can finish these front 6 games 4-2. But it’s hard to predict 4 conference wins for a program that’s had a mere 6 in the last decade. 4 wins is still doable and a solid improvement for a first year coach.

  These games would have been played in the 90s and back for sure. Also, I am not advocating they should be played now. In fact I think the right thing is being done now, things were wild back then.

  @DanR Yes, we were there a couple of hours early. We saw everything. Good and bad. I know it’s been a long time since our football team has been taken seriously, but honestly, I was surprised at how unenthusiastic the whole town seemed. I remember driving through Pittsburg, Ks a couple of times, and it’s like WOW - these folks are behind their team. Businesses, residences, everybody’s flying flags and banners, and wearing “the colors”. Were you at the game? I think the thing that got me the most was how …meh… the crowd was when they introduced the players. The KU Players!! Literally nobody cheered. I started to clap and looked around and thought “whoa, what kind of weird no cheer tradition is this?”. You don’t see that in AFH. Anyway, I hope they get it figured out soon. It looks to be another long, horrid Big 12 season from what I’ve seen so far.
