Whew!!!
-
Tough win. 4/17 from 3; 20/33 FTs and Moss 2 pts. Yikes.
-
Nice try Ricky.
-
Other than 2 not very smart fouls that put him on the bench for a couple of longs stretches, Doke was a monster. 18 points, 11 RBs, and 4 blocks…
-
Welcome home rick! Doke loves you!
-
Kim English still 0-fer in AFH
-
Doke was a monster, starters did fairly good outside of Moss. We flat out can’t have Moss, Braun and Tristan play like expecting to win.
-
So look, plus minus is silly sometimes, but it made sense today. KU +18 with Doke on the court today.
-
@BShark hard to ask anymore from Doke. Even made more than 50% of his free ones.
-
Like to be a fly on the wall watching Silvio and big Dave in the locker room. Class act deciding to stay in there.
-
@Kcmatt7 I hope he does!
-
@kjayhawks Glad to see Rickey’s “Poke a Doke” bit him in tha ass
-
Positive thing about David is he really only misses 3 days with us playing Monday. That game is worrying me and I don’t think we can afford to lose it. On paper we caught a break with them being the last place team but they gave Baylor everything they wanted.
-
@kjayhawks Playing at Stillwater is always tough
-
Pts off to’s 17-8, bench pts. 8-1
-
@kjayhawks I think Okie St. will win. With having no bench guys will be worn down in that game with the quick turnaround.
-
@Woodrow would be hard to predict otherwise but who knows
-
Doke only played 27 minutes today, so if he can stay out of foul trouble at OSU, KU should prevail. The other guys are used to that many minutes. But… KU has had significant trouble there.
-
I’m with @FarmerJayhawk on what our starting lineup should be, bring Moss in off the bench to fill in at two or in a pinch even three spots - think it will do both him and the team some good.
-
Anybody see postgame?
-
That was a solid win against a talented Tennessee team. They will have some success late in the season.
Looked like a great atmosphere today. Classic AFH victory!
Step one in removing the cloud: Win with class. (check!)
-
@bskeet I like it!
-
@Crimsonorblue22 I saw it. Walked by in the background like a doofus.
-
@bskeet not too sure on them being good but any win with one big available to play is a great win.
-
Doke has always been KU’s most important player. They will go as far as he takes them. Tennessee face OSU a blueprint to beat KU without McCormack and Silvio, get Doke in foul trouble and force Self to play Tristan at the 5 or go with a 5 guard line up with either Garrett or Ochai guarding the opposing post players.
-
Okie Lite as bad as they are does have a bunch of bigs on their roster.
-
-
@DanR next time take a sign, hi I’m dan the doofus fun game to go to! The headband guy played w/mic and drank 50 swigs of water. Thought it was rude. Locker room interviews
-
@BShark that was scary!
-
@BShark that one guy is good, Anei
-
Since this was mentioned somewhere in the game thread KU’s defense fell to #3 on KenPom but the offense moved up to #7.
They are still the #1 team on KP
-
Ok St has some good players they are just young.
-
PER’s from the Tennessee Game. Doke’s impact/importance I don’t think can be quantified.
-

3 of their 4 top scorers are Seniors.
-
@BeddieKU23 Dave’s went up without playing? So Silvio has a chance to advance big-time over 12 games!
-
Yeah I don’t know why that was the case. It was only 0.1 but still I saw that and was puzzled
-
@BeddieKU23 I should’ve worded it better, they have some young guys that will be good like Likekele, Anei and Harris I think will be good players in a year or two. Their seniors like Mcgriff and Waters haven’t really seemed to improve much over the years so who’s knows for sure.
-
Yeah they are young as well. The Boone brothers look like they have promise. Likekele is a poor man’s Garrett who can’t shoot, Anei was a ghost against Doke and really hasn’t pushed forward since about end of November. It’s going to be interesting to see just how good Cunningham makes them because they don’t seem to have enough currently or signed with him to make a big leap
