Yeah… he has been a beast the entire Maui tourney.

Broome is NBA talent NOW. Size, speed… where did this kid come from?
Best player in the country. He’s a 5th year SR and was really good last year too.

Need a ballin10 update on the state of the program (UConn)

Just off my radar too…. 3rd team all american last year. Started at moorehead state first 2 years. Tested nba draft twice, needs a 3 pt shot improve stock. Making 1.2 3s per game this year. .4 last.

WVirg hanging with the Zags. 3 min left on ESPN
-
@stoptheflop They really have two women broadcasting this game? I have no problem with it but they’re not very good.
-
LOL, Indiana the annually overrated team gets exposed badly against Louisville losing by 28.
-
WVA about to knock off Gonzaga

WVU knocks off Gonzaga in OT…
-
Interesting week, #2 UConn loses 2 games, #3 Gonzag loses and #5 IState lost to #4 Auburn. But, #1 is still #1 if KU gets by Furman on Sat.
-
LOL, UCONN plays at Midnight eastern time something ESPN surely wasn’t planning for. This must have been the first year that Chaminade didn’t play in the Maui?
-
@wissox https://www.ncaa.com/news/basketball-men/article/2023-11-22/complete-history-chaminade-mens-basketball-maui-invitational
Chaminade had appeared in every Maui Invitational from 1984 to 2017, but that changed in 2018. That season, the tournament changed things up so that Chaminade will play in the “Mainland” bracket in even years but return to the Maui bracket on odd years.
-
Ha, been watching Arizona / Davidson, Like the commentators said never seen this before Davidson player didn’t just lose ONE shoe but lost both shoe’s lmao
-
This Maui tournament has been wild. UNC-MSU 3rd place game I just caught the last minute of regulation which featured a 3 with 5 seconds left to go to OT and just a helter skelter OT where MSU pulled it out. UNC goes home with a 4-3 record with losses against very very good Auburn and MSU, and of course, us!
Auburn is really seeming to be scary good. But they almost lost to ISU. Tom Crean just said they’re better than us. Of course he’s a failed coach so he had to go on TV so take it with a grain of salt!
I can’t get over UConn finishing up right now in the 7th place game. Gonna be a LONG plane ride back to wherever they fly to.
-
-
@wissox Ya I heard that from Tommie , there are multiple ESPN people pushing Auburn should be the # 1 team in front of us. the Ol boy that pumps up all the sunshine of all SEC teams got his nose buried way to far up you know where , saying the same thing. It’s ok rankings are nice for the fans to thump their chests about- - but we know only thing that really matters is who is left standing at the end of the year Right ? - -ROCK CHALK
-
I’m not going to laugh too loudly at UConn as the 2 time defending champ. Hurley is an amazing coach. His temper was well documented this week, but he certainly isn’t the first coach with a temper and really until this week I didn’t really know he had one.
-
Wow, what a week for UConn-3 consecutive losses. OUCH!
-
-
Something to think about. Over the last 19 contests against- – Duke - -N Carolina - -& Kentucky - -we are 16-3- -not to shabby
-
Anyone else watch the WV-Louisville game? Our old friend Joe Yesufu now plays for the mountaineers. He played a little….5 minutes and collected 4 fouls
-
@kjayhawks Couldn’t watch but saw my other old friend Chucky Hepburn went off for 32 for Luisville.
-
Marcus Adams is playing for CSUN this year and has put up some points against non-P4 opponents. (Cal State Northridge)
-
@Gorilla72 He is only 35 miles from home.
-
Reaching the end of Feast Week, the SEC has clearly established itself at the strongest conference at this point. B12 at best 2nd, maybe 3rd behind the B10. B12 has a losing record against ranked teams. SEC is 11-5. 7 undefeated teams. Have won almost of the matchups with B12. Hawks will stay #1 after beating Duke, but Auburn has been the most dominant team thus far, with an even more impressive slate of wins - UNC, Iowa St., Houston and Memphis.
-
@DCHawker Florida has looked pretty salty so far too. They had a 27-0 run during their 37 point win over previously undefeated Wichita St. today and have won every game by double digits so far including a 13 point win over a solid FSU team.
Oklahoma is also looking good so far this season as they’re currently up on Louisville in the championship game of the Battle 4 Atlantis.
-
One team letting down the B12 is Arizona. They’ve lost 4 of 5, mostly to 0n the fringe of ranked type teams. Duke is their best loss while strangely their loss to WVU today is considered non conference as I’m sure it was scheduled long before they dreamed they’d be in the same league.
-
Lost 4 of their top 6 guys from a year ago. With Caleb Love your main dude your going to have a hard time being consistent. Their talent is just down from previous years from what I’ve seen so far.
-
Lady Jayhawks won their tourney, beat auburn by 1
-
Oregon surprising Bama yesterday and Houston loses in an upset of sorts finishing 4th in their tournament, yikes. Future opponent Creighton avoids UCONNs fate by winning the 7th place game in the same tournament.
Lot’s of good games coming up this week. The B12/BigEast challenge starts. BIG starts league play this week with mid week games the next two weeks. ACC/SEC challenge takes place this week. BAMA/UNC and Auburn/Duke are the headliners on Wednesday.
-
@wissox Creighton have some injuries?
-
You’ll need 3 TVs Wednesday night. Besides KU @ Creighton at 7:30 on FS1, watch Baylor @ UConn at 5:30 on FS1(sure to go into OT to delay seeing our game), Alabama @ NC at 6:15 on ESPN, then at 7:00 Marquette @ Iowa St, broadcast unknown and at 8:15 on ESPN2 Auburn @ Duke. This reminds me of the NCAA Tournament. Too many great games to watch.
-
@stoptheflop Thanks for filling in the blanks with the games Wednesday. Somehow I missed Baylor-UConn and ISU-Marquette. Wow, what a day.
@Crimsonorblue22 I haven’t heard they have injuries, but don’t know for sure.
-
Creighton was missing their starting point guard, Steven Ashworth. He was back Saturday vs ND and played 36 minutes.
-
Too many teams in the main conferences leads to not enough TV channels to show all the league games shoving more and more games to ESPN+, peacock, etc. So tomorrows headliner game between Iowa St and Marquette, #5 v. #6 is on ESPN+.
-
League getting embarrassed so far tonight.

League getting embarrassed so far tonight.
Alas, it’s not just tonight. Sadly, the B12 has WAY under-performed rankings and expectations through this week. Tonight, it’s not just a ranked (shouldn’t have been) Cincinnati team losing to 5-4 Villanova. Or BYU down big to Providence at half. Or ASU down to San Diego (NOT San Diego State).
Arizona has 4 losses; Houston 3. KU is the only undefeated team. The B12 has a loosing record against ranked teams. I’m not a fan of the SEC, but it is 11-6 against AP ranked teams.
The B12 has been the strongest conference top to bottom the past several years - that isn’t the case this year…
-
@DCHawker “KU is the only undefeated team”. That’s all that really matters!
-
The SEC certainly looks like the best conference right now.
-
By a mile……Auburn is crazy athletic and Pope oddly has UK much better than I expected
Bama is always a tough out as well
-
I will take a weaker Big-12 if that’s what ends up being. The amount of difficulty it’s been the last 2/3 years was due to regress to some extent at some point.
But just look at KU’s league schedule. There’s no way teams are not coming with their super bowl efforts when KU comes to town. 10 road league games.
-
SEC steamrolled ACC - 9-1 in those matchups last night…
-
@BeddieKU23 Agree with you 100 % . I have said many times in the past no matter who we play for the most part and I speak mainly about middle of the pack to low in our Conference when we come the place is going to be rockin. Other Schools always come up with ways to fill the joint-- Black outs -White outs , some kind of specials for their fans when we come. – Pump the volume up , , same way for Non Con average teams - -that’s because for a lot of these teams we ARE their NCAA Championship game , THE game of the year to them. When they play other Schools their place a lot of times is half full , and dead as a door nail sound wise , excitement wise , you can’t figure out if your at a College Basketball game or, a badminton match with a bunch of ol ladies sipping tea and eating crumpets
You tell me if we are not their game of the year then why IF they should they pull the upset - - why do they storm the Court ? – Hell we have seen seen other good tems fans rush the floor after they should happen to beat us.
One thing I don’t get is and announcers have said this , if they beat us or about to, the fans start chanting OVER RATED- -why would you do that All your doing is taking away from your win because , if we are over rated then your not beating a good of team as you thought – just WOW- - act like you belong.- - -Sorry turned this into a NOVEL response but yes Agree 100 %- - ROCK CHALK
-
SEC this year in Basket Ball is going to be a tough out
-
ugh. I hope that doesn’t hold up late in the season… But Auburn sure looks legit.
-
Waiting for that UConn state of the program from @kuballin10
Hurley not Jesus himself??? Clingan and Newton merchant???
-
Silence is golden!
-
I truly can not believe how bad UConn is. Baylor is also bad.
-
KU has huge on our back!
-
Alabama spanking UNC in the dean dome
