Tracking the Outgoing KU transfers
-
Got it. I forgot about that.
-
Zuby is a non-factor so far.
-
@BShark - Apparently Zuby was 2nd off the bench but has only one assist at the half. No shots, fouls or FT.
-
Cuffe has had the best game so far out of our ongoing transfers. No one looked particularly good. We knew the bench situation was dire last year but this speaks volumes.
-
Zuby ended with 2 pts in 8 minutes. He’s stuck behind Soriano so that won’t help him. Grass ain’t greener bud

Not sure he’d play here either tbh but yeah
-
Wish him the best tbh. But it’s ironic to see that he landed in the same situation basically at his new school, playing 2nd fiddle. He downgraded in every facet to get the same outcome. To each their own decisions

Braun sucks. Zuby would get some of those minutes. He started for a stretch, no reason to think he wouldn’t play. But if Zuby thinks he’s a future pro he’s misled. His ceiling appears to be upper classman starter.
-
@BeddieKU23 more apt to say that about Udeh though. Zuby at least ended up with a coach comparable to Self. Not that rick is as good at developing big men, but he is still one of the best all time coaches.
-
@dylans agree. I asked about Zuby because i thought he would be a great compliment to Hunter at the 4. A plus rebounder for his position that can clean glass while Hunter jacks threes. The only plus rebounder we have for their position seems to be Kevin, at least in heavy rotation atm.
-
I didn’t even consider the coaches in that response but good point.
-
Parker impressed me mon. night. He also was stepping up as a leader. Quite a few had 5 boards. Juan 4.
-
I would have been very concerned with Zuby playing the 4 next to Hunter defensively. At least from what we saw last year Zuby looked like a 5 strictly on that end. KJ at least can defend multiple positions which I think goes unappreciated. He may not be an elite defender but his experience guarding the perimeter to the 5 is something you don’t find that often.

Parker actually didn’t look that ba. I realize you have to look at the competition BUT I think he can help spell Hunter for some minutes anyways

I was really surprised to see Coach returning to his early high low offense with Hunter at the FT line and Parker down low. Parker showed some athleticism on several plays. Parker is just getting started at KU; I don’t understand posters who have already given up on him ever helping KU. I’m an older brother and I’ve always had more dog than my younger brother. Let’s just sit back and see if big brother, Parker has more dog than his younger brother.
-
Cuffe against Canisius: 3 pts 1-3 shooting, 3 fouls 2 turnovers. I was watching this one for a bit and somehow when I had it on he managed to get completely lost on defense twice.
-
How does he look athletically? Don’t think we saw a single minute of him playing to his HS tape
-

Decent athlete still but he just isn’t a good basketball player.
-
Parker had a good game and leads me to hope he will be an asset in a needed role.
-
Elmarko will be past you going to the basket before you know it. On the 3 or 4 I remember he was looking for a seam on a secondary break or on the offside of a screen. He’s got it and he knows it.
-
Udeh tonight so far 2 points 3 fouls and 8 rebounds. 4 minutes to go
-
Yesufu 7 points on 3-8 shooting in game 2 last night.
-
Been a bit since he was here but Enaruna balled out tonight. 22 points, 6 boards, 6 assists, 2 steals, 2 blocks.
-
@BShark he’s a good dude, still friends with him on snap chat. We message back and forth a few times a month. He’s doing really well and I think he will be a candidate to play over seas.
-
I didn’t realize Tristan Enaruna had transferred to Cleveland State. Glad he’s doing well.
-
Cam Martin against Boise’s first D1 opponent 3 pts 4 rebounds 3 assists. Looks like he started and got 21 minutes.
-
Bobby 8 points 7 dimes for ECU. Got the start too!

Hell , I didn’t even realize he was still in College lol

Update time
MJ Rice still hasn’t played a minute yet. Away from the team for personal reasons.
Bobby was pretty bad in game 3. 1-7 from the floor in a loss to SC Upstate.
Cuffe looks like he may play his way out of Cuse’s rotation. Played 8 minutes game three, 0 points, missed all his shots.
Zuby has played 2 more games since last update (holiday tournament thing). 4/3 in 6 minutes and 9/6 in 11 minutes. He is currently their 7th guy in minutes played.
Udeh also has had 2 more games. 0 points 5 rebounds in 16 minutes against Texas Rio Grande Valley. 5/8 in 17 minutes against the worst team in D1 Mississippi Valley State. TCU is on the ISU scheduling plan it appears.
The best story in college basketball right now is Tyon Grant-Foster. He is averaging 23 points a game his first 3 games for Grand Canyon. The Antelopes are 3-0.

So all this tracking the transfer talk brings the question:
Which former KU player turned out to be the best college transfer?
Grimes?

Grimes would be up there. Although not recent, I’d throw David Padgett into that conversation considering the success he had at Louisville during a time when Louisville was pretty good. Although he transferred for non-personla reasons, JR Giddens had a pretty good college career at New Mexico and spent a bit of time in the NBA.

Padgett a good call.

Yesufu had 15 and 5. 5-12 from the floor. 36 minutes. Glad he found somewhere he can really play.
The legend Cam Martin plays again today.
-
Tough time for young Mr. Adams. Always miss my mom. Share croppers daughter from the now defunct Galia community about 70 mi straight south of Lawrence. Missouri Educator of the year circa 1980. Special Ed teacher and leader from the start of Title One. Bachelor degree from KSTC Pittsburg and Masters and Education Specialis degrees from Emporia State. All the while raising four boys and three girls. Kansas girls are the best. Sweet sweet mom. Her first teaching job was in Oakley Kansas about 1940.
-
@BShark Thank you for posting these updates, keep them coming.
-
Love hearing about former Jayhawks. TY.

Jarod Haase or Rex Walters in my time watching KU. Take your pick.

Petiford scored 15 points with 6 assists today but his team ECU lost at home to Northeastern, upset loss.
-
I had no idea that Danny was on the Coaching Staff at Louisville

I’ve been watching for Bobby, but I really like Ezra Ausar on ECU’s roster.
-
Cam had 15/7 today.

Glad to see him at a level he can play at
-
Anyone know who Charlie Moore is playing for this year?
-
@wissox He is playing for an Italian team, Pistoia Basket 2000.
-
@patoh3 LOL, I was trying to make a joke about his numerous transfers!
-
Awaiting NCAA ruling on his 7th year and plans to transfer at semesters end
-
Cuffe looks totally lost out there & out of control
-

WOW- --good for Bobby , almost 3/4 court

Saw where Tyon Grant Foster is still playing ball. Not sure what’s transpired since leaving Lawrence but he played 1 game for Depaul (which I happened to be at) and has surfaced with Grand Canyon and Bryce Drew and playing very well scoring 21 per and 6 boards. They beat National Finalist SD State the other day to garner some attention. Sounds like maybe he could have helped us!
