Matthew Hurt scored 37 in the Duke loss. 15/21 from the field and he fouled out. I guess I followed his recruiting too closely and was disappointed when he didn’t pick KU.

6-2 after KSU is about as good as we could have hoped for. Might have flirted with the 2 seed if we beat Texass and won out though.

Loyola Marymount still hanging with Gonzaga so far, though I don’t see that lasting. LMU hasn’t been good since the Paul Westhead run-and-gun days with Hank Gathers & Bo Kimble.

Gonzaga’s very good, but tonight is an example of the benefit (in terms of W/L) of playing in the WCC. Gonzaga can take games off against teams like Loyola Marymount and still win.

@KirkIsMyHinrich is that a benefit? When they were runner up 3 years ago they beat South Dakota State and Northwestern before beating WV by only 3. If P5 teams end up with a low seed in the Zags bracket, look out.

I question whether Fran has watched ISU, KSU, or TCU play this season after that statement. Don’t let it bother you too much; Kansas played very well, especially defensively against Baylor.

Maybe the best thing all night defensively was guarding butler like their life depended on it. It took 3 years but Garrett rattled him early and often and then after he went almost 30 minutes without scoring his night was toast. We took the head off the monster. Brilliant execution.
