In the new land scape of college athletics I don’t think you can develop talent because it won’t stick around long enough. Will we be that young outside of the potential bench? Timberlake/Harris/Dickinson are tenured veteran guys. KJ played in a lot of big games as well.

Yea, with all the NCAA stuff that is about to hit (and has hit), this is not a great time to have a guy like that on the roster. PR nightmare next season potentially.
I guess the saving grace is that maybe it’s just us diehard fans that really notice the fine print stuff about Morris, etc.

I don’t think I’ve ever been so disappointed to see us land a recruit/transfer, let alone a former 5 star. To be fair I don’t know the kid or the situation extensively, but ugh… def not excite about rooting for someone accused of his deeds. I guess this gets filed as one of those moments we trust Bill and the staff! I must admit I was kinda excited about the possibility of that Quaker entering the portal (Dingle), but this seems to seal that deal. There is still a lot that can and will change before June. Hopefully we get some good news early next week!
Sorry if this has become a sore subject lol, just letting my feelings out in my safe Jayhawk Tree (before I go back to lurking ^^)

I hear ya, but without adding a SF or another wing that’s all I see. He has proven he can defend multiple positions and he is a strong, hard working kid. Similar numbers to when Kevin Young was here. Effort doesn’t always show up on box scores, but you always need that guy. Hunter can keep the defense honest to a point, and if you ever needed Udeh in there you could swap to Marcus for his shooting. Just can’t have KJ and Udeh in at the same time.

thing is we need scoring from every position , because think w might havt trouble scoring because I just really don’t think we end up with Hunter- I wish to GOD we could but I just feel 50/50 at best on him - so KJ has to score got put in the work if he is gonna be at the 4

Geez, you guys make it sound like this guy is Brandon Miller level bad. Unless im missing something, he is accused of pulling his ex out of bed when she was asleep? And a bra got snapped in the process? Not good but seems to me like maaaaybe just a little bit the reactions are a bit overblown.
Of course i want our team to be perfect character people but nobody is perfect and everyone is human and has made mistakes in their life. Those that live in glass houses shouldnt throw stones.

@RockkChalkk there’s more to it. At one point she got a restraining order. Really who among us hasn’t had a significant other go to court to keep us from contacting or being in proximity to them

i’m like everybody else here, no real clue what happened. But from what she claims, it sounds ominous.
we’re just going off her word here, but she says he would abuse and threaten her so she’d stay with him. says he’d beat and scream at her. kept showing up to her work, threatening to beat and punch her if she didn’t stay with him. scare tactics. she claims other toxic abuse stupidity. was caught trying to break her car window, then stole and tossed her keys into a ditch to strand her at work. i dunno. maybe she’s full of crap, but just not the kind of attention i want for the program. just me.

Well all the idiots on the Kentucky boards going clackers now cause I guess Gary Parrish said on his podcast I guess last night that Hunter Dickinson would end up at Kentucky.
On his podcast I guess - -who knows might be right , but sure got them all fired up

Well hell If thats truly the case I don’t blame im either then. - -That’s what this NIL has done.
Like I said if I would of had the chance to play ball and be good enough in College get a good deal from the NBA - after I was there I could give a rats ass if I eve got off the bench, I’d just sit back toss a few towels to team mates for them to wipe down during timeouts or give them a drink and collect my money. - -Cuffe gets a free ride AND money on top of that AND his girlfriend so why not? - if that’s truly the case

tl;dr P5 and Notre Dame started guaranteeing scholarships for 4 years around 2015.

Well the Morris thread is too weird to post in tbh so I’ll put this in here.
Looking at how Texas used Morris last year in terms of position and ball handling responsibilities (I know this was a reported reason for his transfer) the players with Kansas that played this position were basically McCullar and Yesufu. I don’t remember how we listed the order, but McCullar was functionally our “two” guard. Gradey was a wing all the way and didn’t do much handling. Timberlake functioned similarly at Towson his entire time there and should offer a fair bit more handling at the 3. If you go back another year to the title team, Ochai was defined by these same things as the wing, and CB the wing guard/“two”. As things sit the only pure wing we have, and he might be closer to 3/4 hybrid is Marcus Adams. If it’s been a 25 year old 40% (in college 3 point shooter) and an 18 year old that’s likely going to have a big adjustment period I can imagine what Bill will go with to start at the 3.

OR, we could modify the self imposed scholarship reduction. Not a likely option but its still an option.

@BShark He’s gonna be our starting 2 guard and play some 1. Self pitched a Frank/Graham ball handling duties im sure.
Heck Kev and jwill often brought it up when Juan was playing all those minutes in games with minimal days rest.
