@BShark Kev back?
Timberlake and primo aren’t really THAT good (solid but not great)
Or you think Ingram? He isn’t what I’d call dynamic…
Someone who hasn’t portaled?
Timberlake probably UConn but maybe UNC. Kansas is no longer recruiting Primo. Ingram isn’t a guard imo.
What the Hell Sears was supose to be on campus this weekend

Happy with all these developments. Need a bonafide guard starter and not a potential bench guy if Cuffe(unfortunately) refuses to leave. the new guy better than Matthew murrell?
-
@rcjhdraft I think most would say yes. There are a couple names one in the portal one not. If Self actually hits on either, people will be thrilled.
-
If Sanogo doesn’t get drafted could he portal?
-
-
@kuballin10 said in Transfer Rumblings:
@mayjay Yes, @BShark said Memphis would be a player there
He’d be a heck of a late pickup
I think the talk now is that he will stay in the draft. I hope so lol.
-
I haven’t been able to keep up too much in past couple of weeks due to soccer season beginning for me so I have a question for you. @BShark. Based on your comment that you feel like the guard KU is likely to land is potentially viewed better as Spears and there being two names in the portal already, would it those names include Javian McCollum, Chance Westry, Aaron Estrada, RJ Luis, Kario Oquendo, Taran Armstrong, Amaree Abram, Jaden Bradley, Joseph Girad, Tylor Perry, Jared Bynum, or Austin Nunez?
-

I don’t think the name currently in the portal is legit. I’m trying to hear it from more reliable people first.
-
I’ll toss a name out I’ve heard KU will be interested in: Raequan Battle. 6’5 wing from Montana State, started out at Washington. 3 and D guy. Very strong defender in that league on high volume minutes.
-
Just hit the portal today if anyone is wondering. But that’s not the not yet in the portal name I’ve been hearing.

I want this kid on the team next year.
-
@TYOHawk Ditto. Might be a hot take, but Battle >> Livingston for me. Battle fits better with the other pieces.
-

Couldn’t agree more especially with the rumors of Livingston demanding to play the wing. Having two high iq passers/connectors like DaJuan and Ingram would really unlock Dickinson and battle imo.

The fit is so good it’s almost certainly not going to happen. My info is a little dated on him but I do know KU was going to be interested should he portal.

Well got this from TOS - it was a post from on 3 site – so not getting no woodie about the substance of it BUT just what they are now saying that they have actually changed their pick and say KU is the favorite now to land Hunter -they give KU a 62 % chance of Hunter committing here. would be nice for sure just think I’m gonna stay with my thinking right now and say he commits to Maryland , now things can change for sure again IF he follows through on his visit to KU -then I think our chances improve drastically.
The question becomes IF Edwards & Hunter BOTH say they want to come play for KU - - Jessee commits 1st then Hunter says he is coming - - WHO do you take ? -do you by pass Jessee for Hunter ? - -for sure understandable -BUTwhat if we by pass Jessee and then Hunter in the end lands somewhere else after all?- So then we lose out on both? - -Do we take who ever commits 1st ?
-
@jayballer67 Edwards is strictly Plan B to Hunter. He won’t have a committable unless Hunter goes elsewhere.
-
I know it’s not us BUT se it looks like it may come down to a 2 School race for Abmas from ORU. Looking like Texas & KSU.
Reality looks like Texas REALLY needs him. - - Hunter in the draft - - Morris in the Portal - -& the commit from 5 * AJ Johnson - - is now decided he is playing ball in Australia- -they hurting at guard
-

not disagreeing just curious. Thing is if Hunter drags this out Jessee commits some where else - then Hunter commits elsewhere - - - then DUM - - DEE - -DUM - -DUM

is the guy not in the portal potentially going through the draft process?
-
@rcjhdraft Don’t think anything has been announced at all by him at this time including that. He’s a pro eventually, but maybe not NBA.
-
BShark - -what happened to Spears ? - -Why did we back off of him ? - Is it because of another Guard - that’s probably very likely to commit ? – Like Timberlake possibly ?
-
@jayballer67 I think we backed off because we are hearing other guards coming into the portal like this new Battle guy we like more or thinking better guards are gonna portal
-

The staff is very concerned about double transfers actually being eligible or not. No need to play the waiver game with a guy that isn’t great anyway. It’s also possible that TCU is unable to take him due to academics. He will still visit TCU. The KU visit was canceled.
-
Battle is one hell of an athlete. Very intrigued

Oh ya, I had totally forgot - -he had already transferred once and dam I mentioned that same thing myself sometime back about needing to get a waiver? /right . - -we smart thinking probably on staffs part. - We just have someone who can score the dam ball.
That’s why I think Hunter is almost a must - -Timberlake would be great at the 2 - - If we got Hunter - -Ingram - and Timberalke would be a good haul
-
@BeddieKU23 said in Transfer Rumblings:

Battle brings back Josh Jackson and Och lobs!
He is a ridiculous athlete - go get him Bill
Juan
Dude stud guard @BShark has referenced
Battle
Ingram
Hunter
Bench Elmarko - udeh - kj - whichever guard shows in practice
Nasty
-
Personally, I don’t care if we get a 5/big guy. Udeh is going to explode next year, and KJ is a 3rd year Self guy to fit into other situations.
Give me 6-7 Ingram to replace Jwill and one more upper classman guard (who shoots 39% from three) and I’ll be happy.
-
If there are only 3 spots I’m conflicted about a guard or wing. I suppose it’s BPA. If you let me choose, I’ll take Battle, Ingram, Hunter and shut it down. The 4th spot makes so much difference if it’s available.
-
@DanR I want Udeh to work xtra hard this summer! Somebody to work hard with him!
-
@BeddieKU23 said in Transfer Rumblings:

Only concern with battle is that he’s already used his free transfer and idk how close he is to graduation
-
Yeah, the 2nd transfer thing is obv a concern, perhaps his situation is different then Spears who we have backed off on thankfully. Really need that 4th spot to open because he would be worth using that spot there
-

Yeah, I am still weary that we are able to add 4 guys. 3 real guys would be good enough for Bill to have a damn good team next year. Though in a perfect world you could add 2 wings and a true guard.
Bill seems set on a big.
As far as Raequan Battle, he’s been in college 4 years, so you’d think he would be a grad transfer.
-
@Crimsonorblue22 Bring back Cole A
-
If you land Battle, Ingram and Dickinson in the portal, it’s a home run.
BUT if you can make room for a 4th and put Kev on that team it’s a walk-off grand slam.
Juan/Battle/Ingram/Kev/Dickinson
KJ/Udeh/Elmarko/MAdams off the bench.
Just give us the 1 seed in the Midwest now.
-
UNC people loooooooooove talking, so we will know exactly how that Ingram in-home goes for them today lol.

Would honestly like some more juice at the guard spot if we have 4 to give. But I’m not complaining either way.

Pretty sure if KU gets their choice of regions this year, we’ll be in the South region since the South regional is in Dallas and the Midwest regional is in Detroit.

So literal all the time lol. I think you understood my point.
-
@BShark I just think that team clamps anyone in the country.
Would be okay with a top tier guard over Kev theoretically.

Agree. Enormous defensive potential and the top 3 guys off the bench are all above average defensively lol. The main takeaway people had with Elmarko at McD’s stuff was his defense.
-
Been hearing more and more that Hunter going to be going home and player close to home - IF that’s the case w better stay in close touch now with Edwards. - Might just have to go Edwards/Udeh ? Zuby
-
@jayballer67 sounds good to me.
-
Maryland or KU. I’d put my dough on the good guys as of tonight
-
UNC fans are becoming aware. There is an angle for them with Ingram, but I don’t think it will be enough. Should know very shortly after the KU visit. Bill gonna knock it out of the park.
-

IF we can get through the weekend & actually get him to follow through on his visit THEN I think our chances improve A LOT. - just been hearing and readin A LOT that he is pretty well set on Maryland, not Maryland Boards but others and talking with some guys/friends I know that way. - could be wrong - love to be wrong but I dunno. just got to get him on Campus see Coach in person , let Coach do his thing
-
Interesting that the desired trio is dickinson Ingram Timberlake. All great players but definitely lacking a bit in athleticism. Id feel better about it if we could successfully run cuffe off and open up another spot
-
J. Edwards to WVU. Come on down Hunter!
-

Bizarre situation. If you read between the lines it seemed like the only of his top 3 that he could commit to. Gonzaga writers were adamant that they were not involved at all. And of course KU is still pursuing Hunter as the top option for that spot.

I just want them to close on Ingram in the coming 2 days. Then I’ll worry about the rest. I think he helps the team a lot. Gotta have him over UNC imo.
-
Saw Cuffe at the barnstorming deal. He doesn’t appear to be going anywhere. Content. I didn’t get the feeling that McCullar is giving much consideration to coming back. As of today DaJuan will play 2 more year - he said so himself.
