  • My , My , My , just went to their message boards - - Mercy how quickly they turn. Quote-- This " maybe the worst basketball I’ve seen in years " , - -The Weber rettes could beat these guys- - -Tang is a terrible at coaching- - I’m beginning to think hope not - that is Baylor just had an over abundance of talent and just rolled the ball out on the flo0r let them go one on one.

That’s K/State for you , I didn’t red anymore you get the jest pretty quick --NOW they all over Tang-for God’s sake - so now their basketball Savior suddenly can’t Coach a lick lol - -people saying preseason predictions was probably right --how they are the worst team in the league -how they are tired of one on one ball-- just on & on & on–

If I was Tang I’d say screw you and head for Texas - -bet they take him in a minute— just laughable

  • @Kcmatt7

I’ve said this all along… Tang won’t stay at KSU if the culture doesn’t change. He’s a strongly-rooted Christian and Manhattan is closer to hell than heaven.

I really feel like this is a defining moment for KSU basketball. Either the culture changes and they embrace a positive lifestyle (doesn’t have to be Christian), or they stay “hicks in the sticks” and prevent a real coach from coming there and doing the job right.

Jack Hartman is rolling over in his grave.

I support Tang and what he is wanting to do. I want KSU to build a respectable program once again. It’s good for the Big 12 and good for us.

I don’t think Tang is a fit for Louisville. The culture there is horrific and their dark cloud history will prevent them from attracting a class act like Tang. Notre Dame is a better fit unless there are Christian differences that can’t be overcome.

  • @drgnslayr i think Louisville would embrace him. KSU fans are looking for a reason to not like him. Louisville fans would support him in anything he wanted.

    Jmo

  • @Kcmatt7

I don’t think Tang will embrace Louisville. He isn’t the typical used-car salesman coach just out chasing a buck. God is first in his life.

Still wondering why he went to Manhattan. I think KSU sold him a bill of goods. Promises were made… now the kitties either step up or he’ll leave.

  • There’s an unusual excitement in Evanston. Since I live only an hour or so away I decided to check stubhub for tonights game with Indiana. Tickets were around 200 after school today. Just checked and with the game 6 minutes old I could buy one for 115. Usually NU games, except for BIG games with UW, UI, and MSU are available for a ten spot. Part of that is it’s a tiny gym, but there’s a rare excitement there.

  • Oh and 1 ranked Bama going down to Tennessee, no shame in that but still a tough thing after getting the high ranking.

  • I mean they ought to just go ahead and rank us #1, provided DaJuan and Kevin’s ankles are ok. More worried about Kevins as it looked more severe.

Saw an interview with Kein and he was asked about his injury. - - they asked him if it was a high ankle injury - he said low and if he thought he would be able to play Saturday , he responded oh ya I’m playing.- was asked again later if he thought there was a chance he would miss the Baylor game and he said - - -I’m playing , he said we are all ok and everyone should or will be playing

  • Kevin is absolutely vital to this team’s success moving forward. I hope his sprain is minor. Hopefully it won’t aggravate into something worse.

If this team can be healthy moving forward… the sky is the limit!

Guys are starting to find their team identity (Self’s words)… and that identity is DEFENSE!

Look how much offense we had off our defense in Stillwater.

Offense tends to go hot and cold… but defense is a state of mind. If we play to this standard, no one can beat us!

  • @wissox just rank us number 1 the first week of April. Til then someone else can have the baggage

  • Interms of our old pal Squeak, Indiana is getting spanked like they stole something by Northwestern

  • @kjayhawks hoosiers had a meltdown leading to 4 technical FT’s which they drained. Steep price to pay over a missed travel call 10 minutes into a game.

  • Big 12 refs would have called at least 100 fouls in the Alabama/Tennessee game; every starter would have been forced to the bench by Big 12 refs. Wow, was that a physical game, especially on defense.

  • Still saying don’t sleep on the Hoosiers. Davis is the type of guy that can absolutely take over the tournament

  • @cragarhawk

KU gave out the book on how to guard him. Obviously easier said then done as well. He’s a heck of a player.

The thing is that these big 12 refs - also ref alot of these other Conference games, they are not restricted to on league – some work coast to coast almost every day of the week

  • @stoptheflop

yep… that was sick. Game was completely out of control. Just glad Barnes got the win!

  • When we play team defense… it works for many reasons. First off, we play to our strengths and we force our opponent to play out of their comfort zone. Prevent them from getting into a rhythm and the game is ours.

Also… it’s very hard for teams to prepare for a game with us when our defense is playing like a team. Very hard to reenact in practice!

One last thing… we need to put complete focus on our scoring off of defense. It’s what will create the separation for us moving forward.

I almost don’t even realize those runouts and treys off those breaks as separate from the defensive TO that created them. It’s so fluid… just seems like one play!

  • I’ve already been inner acting with Baylor fans and they already starting in about how we are favored by the Ref’s and you can take it to the bank that Baylor will have twice as many fouls called -when you play at the Phog the opposing team will have to play 5 -8.

I told them sure maybe home teams do get SOME questionable call -but that is everywhere for every home team including Baylor. I told them hell even when w are the visitor fans are saying we get all the calls. - I said really even we have 3 starters foul out and every - -T call seems to be going THE OTHER way ? The blue bloods might get that 50/50 call , that Questionable call every now and then – but ALL blue bloods seem to get that - -Duke , N Carolina , Kentucky , Gonzaga. . Sure the refs get caught up in the environment does it make it right? - - No , it doesn’t but it happens.

Bottom line is Winners just win - -and losers make ecuses

  • Purdue gets hammered again. I watched that game, and Maryland was faster and tougher. Purdue literally has no quickness, and they let teams get whatever they want. I hope they lose a few more, and end up as our 2 seed in our bracket.

  • @Jethro Purdue really had the gaudy record based on a weakened BIG this year I think.

  • Gonzaga has 68 pts in the 1st half on 71% shooting vs LMU.

  • @Gorilla72 wow!

  • @Crimsonorblue22 - LMU has only 28 pts. Tough to come out for the 2nd half…

For perspective, LMU beat St Mary’s a week ago.

  • The Tenn at Kentucky game at noon will help a little to kill time until our game. The drama between Kentucky fans, Calipari and this year’s team is fun to watch from a distance. Fun matchup and I don’t care who wins. Well, yes I’ll be rooting for Ten for sure.

Kentucky winning is better for KU’s seeding.

  • Huge game In Morgantown this morning. Everyone said Tech was forsure out of the NCAA conversation with 12 losses but WV sits with 11 currently. I feel like this a must win WV getting in the dance a win Tech makes me think they can still get an at large bid if other cards fall right.

I don’t think either team makes the dance. I think those two and OU miss out and Big 12 sends 7 to the NCAA Tournament.

  • Well Dog Doo looks like Kentucky gonna win today

  • @Texas-Hawk-10 It’s definitely trending that way currently but I’m not ready to stick a knife in both just yet. WV is 24th in the net, Tech 60th but Tech looks like a different team the last few weeks.

  • OU up 5 on Texas in the 2nd half.

Go figure that OU team–just kicked Alabama ass all over the floor now beating Texas - -and then lose they way they played to others

  • Dam Iowa St & K/State hacking it up gonna miss a lot of the 1st half because of these fools

  • Oklahoma just shart their pants

  • Wrestling match with Clones vs. Silo Tech. There are 5 fouls both ways every possession.

  • Oklahoma Texas overtime.

Sherfield hit a 3 to tie it

  • There’s a fantastic woman hoopster at Iowa named Caitlin Clark and through 8 BIG road games for Iowa those teams have averaged 4006 more fans for the games when Iowa and Caitlin come to town. That’s pretty remarkable!

  • Newsflash! Fran throws a frantrum and gets tossed. That guy is an embarrassment to Iowa, the BIG, the NCAA, the US of A, and to the entire world.

  • @wissox feel bad for his boys. Did the one come back? Man, tough!

  • @Crimsonorblue22 Yes, Patrick is back playing and then got T-d up about 5 minutes after they’d run Fran!

  • @wissox after his dad got tossed?

  • @Crimsonorblue22 Yes indeed.

  • Shoulda said when Patrick was shooting FT’s after his dad got ejected the students were chanting, “Where’s your daddy?”. Classic college fans being college fans!
