  • @rockchalkwyo last yr they had a different coach.

  • Seeing UT +1 on CBS Sports. O/U @ 135. 89% of money on Kansas.

Not entirely sure how the system works but I’d assume that means the line will move.

  • Tough spot for us. 2 days after huge victory playing on the road against another great defense.

  • Clearly everyone is reading our knowledgeable posters here: KU now favored by 1 on Ceasar’s Sportsbook (ESPN).

  • Not to mention they have a “rat” on staff now in Snacks.

  • Texas is 14-1 at home. They have 5 losses in Quad 1 games.

Certainly have to be concerned about a letdown after a huge victory. It’s short rest where we have to travel and they do not.

They have held 5 of their last 6 opponents below 70 points which is significant for a KU team that averages 80 a game. The only outlier recently was the super charged road game at Texas Tech where emotion was higher then the game.

According to Torvik they are 97th in offensive efficiency & 17th defensively which is no surprise under Beard. They are top 10 in forcing turnovers so that’s a concern for a KU team that can get leaky with the ball on the road (see ISU).

They are a poor defensive rebounding team so hello David and Jalen here.

Their 2 pt defense is Top 25 & 3 pt defense Top 50.

They have bigs that can score around the paint so its important we get a good defensive effort there to force perimeter shots. Ramey is their most efficient perimeter scorer but between the trio of him, Jones & Carr there isn’t much separating them on makes vs takes.

Hopefully KU rides their confidence train into Austin. Play solid d, rebound and make enough shots that you get. If KU can get some run outs to change the pace of the game they stand a really good shot. If they let Texas keep it in the 50’s, low 60’s I’m concerned.

  • Jalen’s offensive rebounding in the first half of the Baylor game was a big part of the reason for KU’s big lead.

I don’t know why that I feel better about this game then I have others in recent past .I know it’s a short turnaround- -but like Coach said it’s a short turnaround for them too. Just they don’t travel.- -i guess I’ve seen enough games of them this year that something about them , they are yet another team that at times have trouble scoring the ball.

Their defense is good but yet hell every team almost in the league has really good defense. I would say if were good enough to compete with Tech’s defense then we are good enough to compete with Texas defense. ,I personally just don’t feel they are any better at their defensive end the Tech is , actually I think Tech is better. Offensively Texas 97th, that isn’t something that should put the fear of GOD into your heart - -that’s not a really good offense. - -Ya they got bigs that can score but they aren’t a dominating scorers

The ONE thing to me that may be of concern would be the TO’s - yet if Jau and Joe and take care of that - -again maybe just me but I know sound crazy but I’ just not that overly concerned -After the way we have played these last couple of games. -Being Short handed on the road at ISU true to’s was not good , but you think we handle the ball that poorly and still win, Had Balanced scoring really balanced , then the way we played Saturday totally dominating Baylor from tip to the final buzzer and beating them in every phase of the game.

I just think with the way Jalen is starting to come around - - Braun playing well-- refer to Baylor 18/1o - - -Oach being Oach, not really a loud game and still with 18/10 I just think Baylor is better then Texas - - Tech’s defense is better then Texas - -the emergence of Joe seeing the floor , I just think the pieces and combinations are starting to come together. - -Could be wrong , I may be insane , we may get steam rolled tonight - - but yet I’m not that worried actually feel better about this game then recent games. - -Their fans even as big is the game is tonight , their fans are not your normal College Basketball fans the place can be packed and just not that intimadating - -just me that’s all

  • JWill and The Dave. Reverend Braun and Jau (borrowed from jballer67 without permission.

After Oach (borrowed from jballer67) and Revbaby our next 5 in the rotation have to meet their scoring to get us 70pts, Since Jau doesn’t like three point shots and they don’t like him back we need our JCL to be our JPL (borrowed from out of my ass) and do some high altitude bombing runs.

If the Preacher, JWill and The Dave don’t get into my shitty pass contest (in it to lose) then we should win.

  • @jayballer67

Your post is cautious optimism in it’s most pure form. I would add that if we can get The Dave and Oach two El Kabongs each it will be flame on!

I assume that is a joint project? What is the key?

  • @jayballer67 I wouldn’t say we dominated Baylor to the final buzzer. They really out played us those last 30 seconds…

We’re going to have a lot of whistles in this one, I’m afraid. Probably not in our favor either with the wagering as skewed as it is. I hope I’m wrong.

  • Is it 8 pm yet…I want to see us on the road versus an athletic team to see if this growth is real since the UK game

RCJ - horns down go enjoy losing in the sec

    oh Geez

  • I looked into tickets…and really really want to go see the team…but I want to have a completely different experience by staying home and not having to drag my ass home after Midnight.

So I tuned into local sports talk station this morning and while they kept saying they would talk about the big matchup tonight with KANSAS (which is about the only time it is ever sold out), they spent the first hour talking NFL and ProBowl, next hour on Texans hiring process, the Rooney Rule, etc…they finally gave maybe an eight minute talk at the end of their last hour talking about how UT beat ISU and that their defense would be a problem for us. No excitement, no callers to join in, just a lame attempt at thinking this team is relevant.

BEAT UT as soundly as we beat Baylor and allow me the chance to GLOAT.

    Got 2 Jayhawk flags up!!!

  • We got them bear in just about every single catagory. - - They play ugly ball , muddy ball. -KU 80.2 ppg - Tex 68.2 ppg - Texas terrible rebounding team -KU 37.3 - - Tex 33.2 ( hell their top rebounder is Allen at 6.5 then drops down t 2 something pe game ) -we average more assists per game - w shoot better 49.2 compared to 45.6 - -3 pt KU 36. % - -Tex 33.4 %

The only things they are better at , we turn it over at ONE more turnover per game then they do- -13. 1- - to 12.0

    Texas top three Scorers 11.2 - -11.1- - & 10.0 - -Ku’s is 20.8-- - -15.2 - - -9.4 but also 9.0 & 8.2 - -huge difference deeper

  • It’s hard for me to guess this outcome. In short, either the UK or the Baylor game was a fluke because that was 2 different Jayhawk teams playing athletic elite 8+ teams.

The difference between the 2 games was good Dave vrs butter finger Dave and Joe vrs Remy. I think this game will show us where we’re headed.

  • If Good Dave shows up and Juan and Joe play their solid defense, I think this one is in the bag. Och, CB and J Will are very dependable, let’s hope they don’t let us down.

  • @jayballer67

Seems like they always had 3+ 6’10" athletic big guys. Not this year. I feel good about the game and unless they hit a bunch of threes early and we are brick city and struggle to get 30 pts by the break. A team giving up so few PPG may be hard to come back on.

      • KU- -76 - -Texas - -69

  • Ha during the Puke - -Virginia game , the Announcer in the ESPN studio said OH TEXAS GYM gonna be jumpin, - -Question 0 0 jumping? - -only thing they be jumpin from would be if their was a Cow stampede mao

  • According to ESPN, the betting line has flipped to KU being favored by 1.5 points now.
