So KU can clinch at least a share on Senior night for Doke. Hope he can play.
Dirty ass KSUCK ticked me off today. It would suck so far for Doke if he couldn’t go on his SR night.
-
@BShark I don’t think it was super serious personally just a bad roll. Hopefully a few days rest and he will be okay.
-
@kjayhawks Hopefully. We need him for the tournament. Shut him down if needed imo.
-
@BShark no question, we have Silvio back, so we should be able to handle TCU at home. It will be to clench a share looks like.
-
@kjayhawks I’d love for Doke to not play the stupid league tourney. Certainly not in the first game.
-
Scott Drew doing Scott Drew things!

Sole possession. Soul possession

By putting the March 4th game on ESPN+, they’ll squeeze nother $5 from us. b-tards.
-
@Bwag sad that between us and Baylor, the number 1 team in the land has played on it often.
-
@Bwag Very strategic scheduling for sure. I almost canned it last month then I saw sr night was on there I swore to myself.
-
@BShark yes and the WVU games…not just the junk…
-
@kjayhawks apparently Silvio is still suspended for the next game. Trash ass league.
-
Bench scoring today: McCormick 9 and Braun 6. That helps.
-
@BShark didn’t even use the stool…

Braun hit a clutch three and David was robbed of an absolutely beautiful DAVEY BUCKETS moment.
-
@Bwag what upsets me is the lack of consistency in this league.

Well, and the NCAA in general. There is that too.
-
@BShark that’s what I thought but @Texas-Hawk-10 and @FarmerJayhawk said different and ganged up on me haha. Looks like I was right as per usual lol.

Question, why were there so many empty seats behind the KSU band today? Could they not even sell out a KU game or did they deliberately keep those seats empty to minimize the risk of someone doing something stupid?
-
And Baylor goes down…

Those are student sears and they just didn’t show up. Weird year.

ya we noticed that too. - -said DAM LOTS of empty seats
-
@FarmerJayhawk they are 9-20 now, people don’t want to watch losers. Attendance was 9,003 I’d say that was a little generous.

I figured it was the student section, just didn’t know why they were empty. I wouldn’t have expected the student section to be half empty against KU since KSU’s school motto is “F— KU!” and usually take every chance to express their motto.

@approxinfinity I saw that, I personally thought that the double technical was weak. Other than a couple of pretty hard fouls on Doke, it was business as usual.
-
@approxinfinity Both ESPN and KUsports.com reported on the light-hearted exchange between Diarra and Dotson near center court near the end of the game.
ESPN: “That’s my guy,” Dotson said. “He was just cracking jokes.”
KUsports: “That’s my boy,” Dotson said of Diarra. “We talk pretty often. We worked some camps in the summer. And he was just cracking jokes. He was killing me. He’s funny."
I watched Dotson’s interview, and KUsports’ wording was more accurate. I found it odd that ESPN edited boy to guy. Is that a political correctness thing? Am I just out of touch to question a decision not to report what he actually said?
-
@tundrahok It probably is, referring to a young black man as boy can have racist connotations in certain situations. Obviously not in this case as it was two black kids referring to each other, but ESPN being the overly PC entity they are probably decided to change for the sake of being politically correct.

I missed this one as well. I was at LMU for parent’s weekend, where they celebrated the 89-90 elite 8 team and had a nice ceremony to unveil a statue for Hank Gathers (died 30 years ago this week). The game was competitive, but they lost by 3 to a fairly mediocre USF (San Francisco) team.
The WCC can be summarized as three teams that are pretty solid who have been recruiting international talent for 5-10 years, and all the others who are just now starting to recruit international talent to try to compete. Gonzaga, St Marys and BYU do get some challenges in league from time to time, but it’s nothing like the relentless gauntlet that the power 5 conferences provide.
-
@tundrahok I have read so many versions of quotes over the years as related by different reporters that it could have been intentional, or it could easily have been what the two different reporters thought they heard. I doubt they were provided transcripts.
-
@mayjay I’m pretty sure one of those quotes came from the post-game panel interview and the other was probably a separate interview with a reporter… possibly on the floor after the game or in the locker room. He said pretty much the same thing, but reporters should not be altering or putting words in his mouth… Most reporters record the conversations so they can make sure to be accurate in their quote.
