  @Texas-Hawk-10 Had UNC won the Championship last season, I think Coach Williams would have retired. The NCAA academic investigation of UNC has taken a big toll on him.

He knows Devonte isn’t really performing his most-effective ball right now. Devonte is his ace in the hole and when we really need him to have a big game, Bill will challenge him. I don’t think coaches usually want all their players performing at peak at the same time in the middle of the year. Sounds illogical, but since players play in performance cycles, you just want to have enough performance to chalk up wins, and then you want to try to peak as many players together as possible in March. It also helps provide some unpredictability among our competition. Keep them guessing which player or players we have that will knock them out. It could be about any of our top 7 players. Read what Dixon (TCU) said… how he was unprepared to have Vick dominate like he did.

KSU was up 11 with 3 minutes left and basically coasted to the end; not unlike what KU has done at times…remember KU was up 11 points over Duke with 6-7 minutes left and let Duke back in the game, human nature perhaps? In the old days before computers, wins and loses were mostly what counted; now, with the computerized rankings margin of victory counts a lot more, but in this generation of participation trophies, running up the score is considered bad etiquette and politically incorrect to beat up on weaker opponents. I say screw it, keep the pedal to the metal and run up the score, if they could do it to you they would any day of the week and twice on Sunday…now I am kidding of course…maybe? maybe not?

  @BeddieKU23 For the first 12 possessions of the game for KU…I was beginning to think we were going to repeat the YMCA game!! We couldnt buy a bucket or defend with tenacity. Then it got going!! Cudos to TCU for making it a close game. TCU could make the NCAAs this year. I was Sooooo wrong about the strength of the conference this season. Although, the season is young. Im still in the wait and see mode.

  TCU’s floor this year appears to be NIT and they could be a team that sneaks in the NCAA tournament this year. If they get to 8-10 in conference play with a win or two over KU, Baylor, or WVU, and win a Big 12 tournament game, and beat Auburn at home at the end of January, that would put them in the 20-21 range and in consideration for an at-large bid. I’d say, KU, Baylor, and WVU are tournament locks for the Big 12 with ISU, OSU, Tech, TCU, and KSU having the ability to make the tournament this year. I do believe ISU and OSU will get in and that KSU, TCU and, Tech will probably come down to the end of the season for possibly 1, maybe 2 tournament bids.

  Christ, more lament, wonder, yearning, melancholia over Conner Frankamp. In a sentence: Off court issues (drinking), gets DUI 3 weeks after arriving at WSU, overbearing Dad, and strikes NO FEAR in KU’s opponents, unlike Mason or Graham. Ive watched a few WSU games, & announcers keep, keep, keep talking about how he’s such a good shooter. They need to find better filler, as STATS (see above) prove them wrong. 6ppg in the MVC. CF apologists need to just stop. CF and Bill Self proved the sour observations correct. His dad needs to have him focus on a marketable degree so the kid can feed himself. Overseas ball? Where kids like RussRob & Langford prowl, earning 6- & 7-figs? He wont fit there either. VanVleet was faster than CF.

  Would love for a bad team to just let him play 30 minutes a game for a month and just see what type of numbers he can put up. His per 36 numbers are always insane. I’d love to see what he could do if someone would just let him get comfortable out there.

  Lol at Iowas State fans voting Morris. ISU has done nothing impressive yet this year. The 3 decent teams they’ve played they lost to. Even dropped a game at home. I think this team could be the leagues biggest disappointment this season. This is the year we find out if Prohm is really a coach meant to be in a P5 conference.

  @Texas-Hawk-10 I can only hope so. Heard once: Practice doesn’t make perfect. Practice makes permanent. Flipping a switch as a strategy is an iffy strategy. I should say counting on it is. I’d agree that sustaining effort to 100%, 100% of the time isn’t feasible in most circumstances.
