I’ve had some hardships over the past year and life can be a complicated mess but everyone has their ups and downs.
I got a big promotion a year ago but the benefits haven’t outweighed the negatives so I’m at a crossroads. It has brought me financial stability in these hard times though which I’m thankful for but I know I’m going to have to make a decision one way or the other at some point.
My son has become fully invested in baseball this year and the journey still continues. He went from Little League to All Stars to now travel ball and will pitch in his first 9U kid pitch game tomorrow so that’s very exciting. I’m a nervous wreck but can’t wait to see him perform. We have lived at the baseball field since April, and it’s been an honor to watch him grow as a person and player. I don’t think we’ll know what to do with ourselves when the travel season ends next month but basketball is next up for him and he’s excited for that. Hopefully this year I can get him into watching some KU games with me as he was curious at times last season.
With work - similarly I got a promotion about a year ago. Then immediately we were (are) and industry current administration is going after. Caused a ton of stress. Went to therapy to help me understand why I was hating work so much. It very much helped keep things in perspective. Just a thought if you haven’t tried it first before leaving.
Congrats on the baseball! Good luck to him pitching! I miss playing baseball at that age more than any other competitive sports I played.
My 6 year old came home singing this, which he picked up at school. I guess theres a clapping game that goes with it. I enjoyed the regional variations in the reddit thread.

I wonder if you guys have encountered any similar spoken word things (or other things) that varied greatly by region?
@KUSTEVE
A 1962 article summarizing what happened to those guys (a few typos–apparently it was scanned onto the web):

@approxinfinity Well that blew up in my face… Who knew you could get PG for a bag of smashed crackers?
Also, I’m confident LBJ has a no trade clause. He has CLE by the balls and will use them as he pleases…
And CLE should be greatful. Is he not the reason they won their first championship?
Probably got a notice that due to economic difficulties at Meth U the job he had as a cable puller at the arena with his degree in English, was being abolished. Most likely will offer free event admission to students who volunteer to pull cables.
@Lulufulu Ahh, heading back before bball season. Yeah, lets do it! I’ have a brother in Charlottesville that I never see enough of, so I’ll see if I can find a time he’s available to get together and then piggy back off that trip. Direct message me and we’ll go from there.
@mayjay
Yep. I believe he was trying to say…The NCAA has a thing for successful coaches like Pitino and me and I am not the only one “unfairly” penalized even when everybody else thinks he is as guilty as Pitino.
@DanR It’s a decent town to visit - as long as you’re not at a sporting event. Some nice restaurants, the lake is right there, nice little zoo - I wouldn’t want to live in Manhattan though. Traffic is pretty bad when school is in session - especially for a small town. And too many KSU fans…
The draft is what needs to be eliminated.
The NBA should agree to limit each NBA team to signing two players each year. No draft.
Pro Team’s recruit on college campuses the same as firms do.
Players sign if they want and that’s that.
If there is excess talent, then add franchises.
