@dylans Arkansas is a top 20 program all time by most metrics so this isn’t some scrub program that Cal is building from the ground up. 6 Final Four’s, the 1994 national title, two Elite 8’s in the past 4 seasons. They also have multiple billionaire donors who are heavily invested in the athletics department so Cal won’t be lacking for resources. Arkansas is a place you can win big at and I’d love see that become a regional rivalry for KU because their campus is only 4 hours from Lawrence.

Cal can recruit. If he gets good assistant coaches (that can coach) they will do well. Only entitled fans like Kentucky, Duke, KU etc expect a title every year or bust. Some fan bases can enjoy winning the conference or even just having regular season success after such a long drought.
If he didn’t get it done with these players at Kentucky , what makes you think just because it’s a different College the results will be any different, he couldn’t make it happen in Kentucky, he ain’t getting it done in Arkansas with the same players

Nobody saying Cal can’t recruit hell he has a top class every year or top five, BUT the guy can’t Coach that’s not fiction - -that’s FACT for the amount of talent the guy has had year after year after year and tell me again how any Championships has he won ?
It’s not going to just automatically change just because he is now at Arkansas- still can’t Coach, He didn’t do it at Memphis , couldn’t do it at Kentucky, regular Season wins isn’t what it;s about it’s the post Season.- - Admin - - Fan base don’t go out and say cool let’s see how many wins we can get in the regular Season.- It’s all about Post Season - let’s just win 6 - the last six that’s what it boils down too Championships.–Ya can Recruit - -yippee Why you think they wanted him out at Kentucky? - He left before they fired him

@Texas-Hawk-10 Arky also won in 1993 when the president of the US was from there.

I’m not claiming that Arkansas is on the level that Kentucky is, just this isn’t Calipari taking over a historic bottom feeding program to rebuild the way Scott Drew had to at Baylor. Arkansas is generally considered a top 20 program all time and is accustomed to having a successful basketball program.

Aint got nothing against Arkansas and ya let them be excited just like EVERY OTHRE TEAM that’s what it’s all about. One more championship is a lot in a game of chance/crap shoot in Basketball. look at all the teams that NEVER get to that game. All I got to say with Calipari thee —Good luck lol

I loved it when Ole Roy Dadgummit turned Nolan Richardsons 40 minutes of hell against him and gave them hell for the last 20 minutes in the elite 16. Everyone was singing the hog kids praises and the announcers were eating it up as they raced up and down the court to a nice lead. But they got tired and we didn’t. Their large kid, Oliver Miller I think was his name, fell on the court and just laid there on his stomach not talking to anyone for what felt like 5 minutes. He wasn’t hurt, he was gassed and really not much of a high character guy either and so he lay there taking a nap.

Read there was mutual interest between Ku & Robinson. Robinson did Tweet out that Coach Pope made an effort and came by and seen Robinson at the NBA try outs, Robinson saying he didn’t have to do that , that he wasn’t even his Coach- - -then followed that up with " YET "
Coach Self was also at the NBA tryouts , so there was that, might of just been checking up on Johnny & Kevin, see how things wee going BUT could of been trying to touch base with Robinson also.- - Uk seems to think Robinson is their’s to lose. Who knows-- -Maybe - - Maybe Not.

We all watched Robinson come off the bench, play PG in Allen Fieldhouse and make dagger after dagger to beat us. Self was there too I hear

Trying to keep things in perspective. Would love to see have Robinson join the crew, but yet, also hearing he is doing well in the Draft At this point it was said they believe he will stay in the draft.
Right now thinking 50/50 he withdraws— -we shall see.

ESPN’s most recent Way Too Early Top 25 currently has 4 Big 12 teams in their top 5 with KU at 1, Houston at 2, Baylor at 4, and ISU at 5. Arizona is 10th and Cincy is 25.

I don’t know if we can get another impact player in the rotation but there’s no need to leave an open scholly. You get a body because there’s multiple guys redshirting this year. Injuries will happen. Either get to 12 and take the last scholly to dead the NCAA penalties or load up and kick the can to next year. I’d like to see us hit the international market for someone. Use the momentum of Furphy getting drafted.

@Woodrow Has been known for a while but Vernon and the discord has to make that subscription feel worth it so he drops nuggets like “ku’s got a real chance….its KU and uk” ect to make you feel “cool” and “in the know”
In reality Robinson was never coming here….i said this even when we were initially starting to connect with him

Does the narrative that Bill refuses to play anyone but KJ at the 4 due to sheer stubborn loyalty just come from last season when there were literally no other options? Or is there inside info I’m missing?

@Jhawk69 KJ was rumored to be the only option last year because he threatened to transfer if competition was brought in. (Ingram) Don’t know if it’s true, but that could definitely paint a guy in a different light.

Give Coach credit , still trying to load the Wagon. - -Read an article from Swain he put out about half hour ago , saying Bill was still looking for one more player for the 24/25 roster.
Out of the top 200 players who entered the portal , only 17 remain uncommitted. Bill looking for a player that can fit the role. Says they have been talking to some guys.

Well K/State got a nice player. Seven footer , Ugonna Onyenso --transferring in from Portal from Kentucky. He is going to be decent when all said an done

Well K/State got another good transfer through the Portal - - from Illinois, now you can agree with this or not- - -doesn’t matter to me BUT Tang has gathered a pretty solid group of players and I think they will be a player in the League this year unless Tang just can’t Coach a lick.
You figure the kid from Michigan —The kid from Kentucky pretty elite rim protector/decent rebounder - then Hawkins plus others - -they are going to be solid Now we can just blow it off , continue to ignore it saying oh it’s K/State or////w can acknowledge this and relaize not going to be anybody’s punk and STILL kick their ass.

@jayballer67 - It appears 3 of their best 5 players are centers. How do they all of them on the floor at once? I suppose one could play the “4” but Big12 caliber 4’s are generally pretty fast. It will be interesting to see what Tang does with these guys when the conference season rolls around.

Not worried about KSU one bit. Top 40-ish roster, SHOULD make the tournament.
