Seems like he’s just not a cultural fit in MHK. Tang runs a very, very loudly Christian program, and Massoud is a practicing Muslim. I imagine he’ll head closer to home.
Always seemed like he hit a big 3 late in games for them.
I hope that’s not the reason. There should be room in the program for anyone. As a man of faith, I would hope Tang would respect another man of faith. Not saying he didn’t because I don’t know, but I hope he did.

MJ was gone a long time before he entered the portal. Wish I knew what really happened.
He didn’t ever get a chance. Once he returned from injury he wasn’t part of Self’s plan. That probably cost us MJ, and may have hurt us in the tournament as well.
-
@justanotherfan I think if it was an issue he would have stuck it out through the coaching change. Tang is an honest man. What I have heard from KSU people that would know he mostly that he wants to start and knows that won’t happen next year at KSU.

MJ wasn’t too interested in being a Jayhawk from the start, unfortunately. I didn’t want to post bad stuff about him here during the season but it was out there. Bossi had some interesting stuff to say about him on 247 premium and Bossi is typically pretty reserved.
I think an engaged MJ could have certainly offered us more than Joe.

@BShark Why did MJ come to KU if he didn’t want to be in Lawrence from the start? Handlers?

$$$
Bossi also confirmed the Oklahoma State stuff. He almost committed there in the first place. His dad was talking to Boynton during the year. MJ never “unpacked his bags” in Lawrence.

@BShark You make your own happiness. MJ just sounds like a miserable kid. Good riddance if you can’t enjoy yourself as a basketball god in the basketball Mecca. Smdh

Like I have mentioned before. MJ is just another case of a kid that when he was on the circut or playing High School Ball whatever it was then - - -he was THE MAN. It seems like it was all me - - me - - me and when he got here he just didn’t fit in or accept the whole concept of team. He felt like just my thoughts that he should be instantly given a spot on the floor and not have to work/prove that he deserved to be on the floor.
As we know and I think was a huge down fall fo rhim was he could care less about the defensive end and as we know you don’t want to play defense for Coach - then he has a special seat for you on the Bench. Not saying I hate the kid or anything like that - -just best for him to find his time somewhere else- -best for both parties.
I will say if he think she goes to Okie State and things are drastically different I think he has another thought coming cause Boynton wants guys that want to get up in opposing players grill on the defensive end too. So until he buys into teh whole defensive thing I think things remain the same

Curbelo is a good kid, but doesn’t fit what KU needs in a guard.
-
@Texas-Hawk-10 Bill be like “oooooh a short guard that can’t shoot”

So why did Twitter warn me that the feed contained possibly sensitive content? I was expecting to see people cussing him out or something…

Out of KU’s transfer portal guys, I wouldn’t be surprised if Clemence, Pettiford, Rice and Yesufu are all helping tournament teams next year. All of them are talented and could help teams win. I could see Clemence becoming that sweet shooting big man for a team that gives a high seed fits in the tourney. Pettiford could be a PG that helps a mid tier P5 team get over the hump, or is all conference at a mid major. We already know what Yesufu can do at the mid major level. No surprise if he’s a starter for a tournament team, which was never in the cards at KU. And Rice will land somewhere and may have a journey similar to another transfer from KU in Quentin Grimes.
That doesn’t mean KU was wrong for how they handled them. It doesn’t even make the transfer portal bad. It actually is good. The fit wasn’t good for Rice. Yesufu could have a bigger role somewhere else, which gives him a chance to make money overseas. Same for Pettiford, with an outside chance to be an NBA prospect if he can stay healthy. Clemence wasn’t a Self style big. He was never going to play big minutes, but he could have a career overseas if he wants it. And KU can bring in a new group that fits into what Self wants to do more easily. Win for everyone involved.

Twitter just gets more broken by the day since the Musk buyout.
-
@justanotherfan My predictions for levels
MJ Rice - Power 5
Zach Clemence AAC/MVC
Bobby - P5 or Big East
Yesufu - higher end MM
Cam Martin - better learn Chinese buddy
Kyle if he leaves (and this is why he doesn’t want to) - LM at best
-
Olivier Nkamhoua- Tennessee. We should definitely pursue
-

Very happy for him. GREAT kid.
-
@BeddieKU23 I’d take him over the Stanford names that have been dropped
-
@BShark what was wrong with him?
-
@Crimsonorblue22 Heart issue!
-
@BeddieKU23 Yeah, he sure wasn’t his brother. Seems like a good kid. But he’s a mid major player in my opinion.

I assumed it was the reference to God. Which certain groups of people consider offensive. Sad.

I actually like Lands. It’s very difficult to evaluate the Louisville guys because they didn’t have a competent PG.

Tuesday Roundup
Arkansas lands Washington transfer Keyon Menifield.
Avery Anderson in for Oklahoma St.
David Jones in from St Johns.
Harrison Ingram- Stanford
Logan Duncomb- Indiana to Xavier
Efton Reid on the move again from Gonzaga.
-
Kentucky’s Ugonna Onyenso in. Poor kid was hustled to reclassify into the 22 class only to find out Oscar was coming back so can’t blame him. KU did recruit him but it was more for the 23 class.
-
Tramon Mark not an option, down to 4 schools. Kansas St is one of them
