Just Beat the TCU Horned Lizards, Please

TT leading ksu
-
This game here more then any this year is where we really miss our boys - - Oachi - - - Christan - -& Big Dave. - -If we got Dave & Christan back would sure the hell helped - - this wouldn’t of happened
-
Either this will be our Kentucky game of last year or this team is broken.
-
Been off the chat for a while. Is the sky falling yet?
-
Down 24 and playing juan. Sometimes you just don’t get it

Look out in Lexington cause UK looks like these last couple of games they turning it around - - & we are sucking buttermilk
-
Easy fix: guys not named Jalen F-ing Wilson have to start making some shots. We’ve taken 4 more shots than TCU.

Collapsed

Soft

just total embarrassment today - -Beddie not broken but Major damage
-
Definitely looked like last year’s Kentucky game. Inexplicablelol.
-
You get your ass handed to you this bad - - hard to try and defend the guys
-
Hoping for better vibes at Arrowhead.

We should start a new thread for that game. This one has bad mojo all over it
-
Where’s @BShark
-
Well that’s over. It’s “take that hill Marines” from now on.
-
At least it wasn’t a one possesion nailbiter but it still fucked with my blood pressure
-
@DanR season turned out alright
This one isn’t over but no bench and your starting pg doesn’t look to score that’s a problem. This team isn’t built for Juan to defer.
Heck our 2 guard even shoot a 3? Our backup 2 guard is more passive than Juan (Bobby).
Bills got his work cutout
-
@jayballer67 gonna be worse when we lose at Baylor and come home with another tough game against ksu
-
Tired team. No motivation. This is what I saw for about 32 minutes of this game -
No chip. Will this blowout make one? Perhaps. But I fear we still have more to suffer through first.
-
I’m not giving up on them!
-
Right on!
We only played about 8 minutes of amped basketball and we cut their lead in half. The rest of the game they killed us.
Why we didn’t keep up the better energy? My guess is we are a tired team. But just getting rest won’t make us a contender. We have to play with a chip.
JWil is our only guy who brought a chip with him this year. It’s why he told Self he is ready to lead this team.
I don’t think it will take too much to get Kevin on that thought level, but he has to defeat his low confidence.
I’m not sure what is up with Juan. Maybe just tired.
KJ is awesome… but is still really like a freshman with his experience. Gradey is a freshman!
The rest of the team… not sure where their heads are at.
This is the perfect time of year to suffer… with time to heal and kick butt! Just like last year!
-
Well that kinda sucked.
I wanted to say the offense is simply challenged, outside of Jalen. But dang, we gave up 48 points in the first half!! 48!
Where do you place the blame?
If Gradey is not scoring, we have big problems. Somebody, anybody, has to step up.
At one point, in kind words, Jay Wright basically said Kevin McCullar sucks and has to get his shit together. At least he got to double digits in scoring. The game started poorly when he got smoked three or four times in a row on defense. blow bys and poor D.
TCU went nine deep, and every player had at least 4 points. I dunno what that means, but i know the Kansas bench can’t score.
I know Self likes a defensive minded team, but at some point you have to realize that Jalen can’t be the only scoring option on the floor to win games. Dajuan and Pettiford can’t be non factors on offense. Everybody has to help out or we’ll be in tight games, or worse.
Grrr.

Well as if we didn’t already know - -our weakness has really showed it’s ugly head- - We have NO BENCH. OUR THREE BIGS- - — -have no experience, & it shows - -We have a kid that has shown he can but he is and illness/injury looking for a place to happen. - -You put that together when you have two out of your three proven Scorers can’t throw it in the Ocean right now - - - your in Serious Trouble. We CAN NOT I repeat CAN NOT expect for Jalen to have to score like he has even game out - -We Scored 60 - - fricken 60 & Jalen scores 32 of those 60. - That is a sure recipe for sure disaster - if that happens.-- - Coach has work to do
We got a PG that has got his confidence shaken - and it’s showing— turning the ball over Silly passes - - - missing wide open shots when he does shoot- - time to throw this tape away - this was one of those YMCA games on our part - -got re-group - - re-focus
-
We will be fine, it is still early, lot of ball still to be played.
I have faith in Self.
He will find a way to ride the ship.

Isu lost

Where’s @BShark
He quit before the game even started, a personal record for him!!
-
I don’t know how DaJuan made 8 in a row earlier this year because his 3 point shot still has shades of 8th grader who hasn’t blossomed into manhood yet look.
-
We have a game like this every year. People forget we’re in a rebuild year after winning the national championship. We’re still a good team but we’re going to lose every time we defend like that. On to the next one- hopefully we can have a good game against Baylor.
-
@wissox low for even you, guess he was just lucky, huh?
-
Kids sports all day. Guess I missed an ugly one. Will watch later. Hope you guys are hanging in there.
-
@approxinfinity nope
-
@approxinfinity dude - don’t watch that crap later. Watch something uplifting like Saw, Se7en or the Dahmer series.
-
Harris doesn’t necessarily need to score for KU to win, but he has to be an aggressive playmaker and he’s playing very passively since he banged his head against KSU. He’s got to get back to being a playmaker and stop playing passive basketball.
-
We can get 20 from Wilson, 15 from Gradey and 30 from KJ/Juan/Kevin. That’s 65 and bench points could be 10 more to make 75. That would be a narrow margin but is that enough? Contributions from all needed night in and night out. It’s going to be a long hard road with more home losses a real possibility. What can change to make us better and avoid being in a last possession game on a regular basis? If we improve our bench scoring to the 10 point level we may be circa a seven loss team.
-
Self in post game was pretty blunt that we don’t have the horses to win games playing poor defense.
I think he’s pretty much seeing what fans are. We need to become a top 5 defense to become an actual contender for the league or in March. Not sure where the pressure heavy great transition team went that we had in November and December went. Need to find it again.

Bill said basically that we can’t play without a lead because we basically aren’t talented enough offensively or deep enough to chase.
Also said Juan is tired playing 40 but we don’t have a bench option performing well enough to not play him 40

Not sure either. Could be part of the problem with that is tired legs possibly, just s mentioned- - Starters having to play so many minutes - -I dunno might be part of the problem - - just not as much spring.
-
@Crimsonorblue22 Just saying his shot looks like a jr. highers, which I’ve been saying on these pages for years.
-
Offense will come around if we start playing defense.
That’s the worst defense we’ve played all year. And when we finally picked it up just a little bit, we went on an 11-0 run.
Many in here still don’t realize… we get our offense rolling by playing good defense. It creates TOs which turn into easy points, which also helps our guys get into an offensive groove.
We are being exposed in the Big 12 for being a team that doesn’t want it as bad as other teams. It’s not like we have a bunch of narcissists… we just don’t have the hunger level enough to win against teams at a certain skill level.
That all changes if we suddenly get hungry.
I know our bench is slim… but our starting 5 can beat any team in the country if they want it bad enough.
Maybe that comes after a few more beatdowns. Maybe.
Personally, I think our starting 5 has the DNA to step up and start kicking arse again. Question is… WHEN?
-
Sorry folks. It turns out my viewership is the glue that holds the team together. Won’t miss another game.
-
If you’re going to miss another game, can you at least appoint a supervisor to make sure the glue doesn’t completely rip off
