Haven’t heard that for a couple years.
-

oh it’s still there hear it all the time couldn’t be any far off. I mean the 6th rated team in the nation scores 36 points ! ! ! - - 36 points - I mean come on that defense is just insane - -Big 12 is gonna be really tough league race this yr
-
Baylor makes just 6-25 from 3 for the game and still wins by 21 over a top ten team. Wow. Villanova made just 6 2 pt shots the entire game.
-
Baylor’s good again. I thought they would be better than they were ranked but I didn’t know they would be this good. Thought the defense would drop off after Mitchell and Vital left.

their defense is pretty intense, I mean anytime you can hold the 6th ranked team in the Country to what 37 points for the game, that’s Coached by a pretty dam good Coach himself - - - Jay Wright , then you have accomplished something. Plus this game is not flash in the pan either , that’s just the way this group is night in - - night out.
I think at this stage of the Season between Ku & Baylor head to head - -I think it’s a draw - KU winning at KU & Baylor winning at Baylor it’s going to come down to how they do against the rest of the Conference. I’m more concerned with Baylor then I am Texas seen them both play multiple times. - - Texas is deep has a nice Big that can get out on the floor --they have jones & other nice pieces - BUT I think Baylor defense gives them the edge by some over Texas. - -It’s gonna be a war
-
It should always be an eye-opener when Nova gets thrashed.
I bet the Zags are cr@pping bricks about now… hoping they don’t do a repeat from last year in the FF. I haven’t even seen Baylor yet… didn’t see this game with Nova… but I bet they can smack down the Zags again.
-
I want to see Iowa State play. See how real they are.
-
I saw box score of okie state, no Bryce, did I miss something? Hip injury

B12 non-conference wins this year include: Xavier, Memphis St, Iowa, Creighton, Tennessee, UConn, Clemson, Mich St (twice), Utah, Fla, Arkansas, NC St, and a handful of other Power 5 wins. Interestingly, only Texas and KSU are without a really quality win, but neither has a bad loss…
Was looking a bit more closely at the B12 non-conference record. Apart from a really solid list of quality wins, what is perhaps more remarkable is that conference teams have lost just a total of 14 times, and no one in entire conference has a really bad loss at this point. In fact, every loss thus far has been to a team with a winning record.
Arguably the “worst” losses thus far are KU to Dayton (7-4) and TCU to Santa Clara (7-4). No other team that has beaten a B12 team has more than 3 losses. “Good” losses include Gonzaga, Providence (10-1), Seton Hall (9-1), Arkansas (9-1), Xavier (9-1), Illinois (7-3) and Marquette twice (8-3).
Interestingly, 6 of the 14 losses are to Big East teams.

It’s going to be a great conference season this year! And with the bottom of our league still being legit… the key will be to not lose to a trap game. Consistent play will be a huge plus this year and in that area I feel like we have an advantage because we have an experienced team with pretty good ball skills. Our TOs seem to stay within reason. Rebounding okay. Steals good. We are a team that does good on the possession chart.
I’m not even looking at a cumulative stat sheet. Just based on what I witnessed. I also like how we finish out on many steals.
This team should still continue to play slightly faster. I hope Jalen’s game comes around and he helps speed us up. We should become masters at scoring off of secondary breaks. Tons of open treys!
Baylor is going to challenge us a lot more moving forward, every year! Drew has really put it together and his basketball environment may be the best in college basketball today.

your right Jalen has to come around just like the announcers keep saying , they say Once Wilson comes around BUT we also are going to need more for Remy he hasn’t really turned it up yet either. - I realize trying to fit in - -trying to do what Bill asaks BUT even Coach ha said Remy might be over thinking - we get those two on the same page then we gonna be that much better for sure.
I realize he is trying to get the ball to team mates to score but he is passing up some good looks - - looks when he is in the lane kicking out giving up 7 footer for 20 footers we need these two to help carry the load we need their help down the line somewhere 4 Scoreres are better then two - -just logic . we get both them averaging around 10 a game - -wee gonna be fine.
-
A handful of positive tweaks with this team and they can be a FF-caliber team! It is not unrealistic to think this!

The power of celebrity, no matter how minor their celebrity status is. Chris Vogt, whom I mentioned above is a UW super senior who is from Mayfield, Kentucky. He started a gofundme that has already raised 60,000$. Keep in mind, the storm happened 5 days ago. Chris Vogt spent the first month of the season accumulating more fouls than points. He’s a fouling big machine. But that sure the heck doesn’t matter now when you look at how his heart matches his height.

Memphis is REALLY good on defense when they want to be. Up 18 on Bama
-
Saw former Jayhawk and future opponent, Jossell, had 28 for Stephen f Austin of the bench…
-
@benshawks08 I was reading his bio. He attended a HS near where I work his freshman year. I work with a woman who has the last name Jossell. I’ll investigate if there’s any connection.

Zags v. Tex. Tech at noon Saturday on CBS should be fun. Its played in Phoenix so Zags have to play a road game against a decent opponent. ESPN has the Zags favored by 8.5, but I’ll be rooting for the Big 12. No one may say the Zags are still playing a soft schedule: Duke, UCLA and Alabama.
-
@stoptheflop no doubt there. He almost had to, if he wanted any quality opposition. Similar to Tark’s situation during the UNLV heyday.

I don’t think anyone has ever really accused Gonzaga of playing a soft non-confernce schedule anytime in recent history. Now they’re starting to be able to get some better teams coming to Spokane, but most of their highest profile non-confernce games are typically road or neutral court games. Seattle has typically been the closest they can get a major team to come play them.
-
Tech loses to Gonzaga. Tech got it close in the 2nd half, then Gonzaga pulled away. Tech was playing without Terrence Shannon, who’s averaging 14.3 ppg this season. Probably closer if he plays.
TCU with a solid win road win against Georgetown. Georgetown is pretty bad but road games are hard.
-
Kentucky is crushing UNC by about 25 with about 10 minutes left.
-
Just to see the court, check out LSU against LATech. See Kenneth Lofton Jr, a wide body among wide bodies playing for tech. He’s on some preseason lists. It’s on CBS sports network
-
Baylor flopping around! Getting called too! They’re good at that!
-
I’m surprised somebody doesn’t have seizures looking at Oregon’s court. Ugh

I’ll just go ahead and get this over with, think that Gonzaga is overrated - Sweet 16 tops.

Baylor comes from 10 down in the first half to beat Oregon. The Ducks aren’t that good this year, but it’s a true road win in a tough environment over the two time defending Pac 12 champs. It’s pretty clear that the road to the B12 title now runs through Waco, not Lawrence. This from CBSSports:
“This victory over Oregon doubled as the 400th career win for Drew, a likely future Naismith Memorial Hall of Famer who has turned Baylor into an undeniable power. The Bears are now 64-6 in their past 70 games and on a 16-game winning streak that dates to last season. In that stretch, Baylor has beaten Gonzaga, Wisconsin, Arkansas, Houston, Michigan State, Oregon, VCU, Stanford, Arizona State and Villanova (twice). Incredibly, each of those wins has come by at least eight points.”
Pretty remarkable run…

Baylor is the real deal for sure. The Conference is going to be a real Bear. - -Wait oh get it - - ( A real Bear ) lol - -really didn’t mean for it to come out like that butttt - - figure this Baylor - - Texas - - Ku - and even to a lesser degree Iowa State , the real surprise team n the league. Amazing what happens when you get a real Coach - and then watch Texas Tech to beat a couple of the Contenders during the season - -nothing easy.
Then on a little side note, I hope some people aren’t thinking this KU/Uk Big 12/SEC challenge is going to be east whether it’s at the phog or not. - not even close to the team they were last year. Destroyed NCarol yesterday. - -TY TY , but the big question is who is going to stop oh hell big boy - -the transfer from West Virginia (Tischibue I know not even close on the spelling sorry & others going to have the Phog at it’s best
-
@jayballer67 well we have 6 weeks until that game. We’ll see how the teams look then.
-
Espn2 has Frank mason g league. Only has 8 mins left.

Thank you for the expression that allows me to taste Bruce while also holding my ears! lol
-
So Alabama gets beat by Davidson 79-78 - -& Xavier loses to Villanova 65-55
-
Texas Tech & Texas both playing games this afternoon - -kind of different. - -Tech plays at 1
-

-
Illinois-Misery. Go Illini! BTN just started.
-

KJ, I think, is our best matchup with that guy. Too bad KJ is a year away from big minutes
-
UCLA cancelled it’s 2nd consecutive game due to COVID infections. Next game vs. Arizona next week. Hopefully they’re totally recovered by then.
-
Duke losing to Virginia Tech in the early parts of the 2nd half. Only losing by 4 so the coach k retirement tour whistle will kick in i’m sure.
-
Couple days after leapfrogging KU in the AP Poll after beating the mighty mighty California Baptist, Arizona loses to Tennessee 77-73
-
@wissox watched while chatting with my tech buddy. They collapsed under dukes pressure second half.
-
@approxinfinity Ironically I checked back in the latter parts of the 2nd half and the first thing I heard was “Oh he got fouled and nothing was called”. #coachkwhistle

We should do with him what we should do with every threatening rebounder we face… everyone put a body on him. It’s called “team rebounding” and it works when used. When a shot is going up everyone looks for that guy first to make sure he is sealed off.

Badgers had a game scheduled last minute with George Mason which is coached by familiar name Kim English. It was just cancelled as the Badgers too have the virus.
