Wonder if Timberlake and Morris would decommitt if we get another guard.

I’m hearing he’s going to be 3rd string. Where did you hear that?

Anything is possible now.

Morris is a much higher ceiling player, but I would take Spencer over Timberlake every time.

off their Boards, not going to have to be depended on for scoring they have PLENTY of guys that can do that, just looking for a space eater that can protect the rim some and rebound - -any - - - scoring just added bonus. Really happy for the kid

Spencer 94th % tile at catch and shoot

Olivier Nkamoua picking between WVU and Baylor. KSU out.
The KSU roster did not shape up nearly as well as I was expecting. Swung for the fences in the portal and really only landed Tylor Perry.

Perry is very good but yeah agree.
All these guys we’ve talked about going to other Big-12 schools. Has become a theme

They have two players that could be above replacement level in Perry and Tomlin. That’s basically it.

UNC signee Simeon Wilcher has asked for his release from his NLI. 4 star guard had a KU offer… I don’t know anything about him or why he’s leaving. Just posting in case this one gets a look

Wouldn’t hurt to take a look would it ?
-
@BeddieKU23 Slater and others saying there are rumors they lose another. The twitterverse is convinced it is Ian Jackson. The hottest of the rumors is that Jackson reclasses and is either a Kentucky Wildcat or a fighting Pitino.

Love to have him, doubt he’d look here. If Self adds a post player, it won’t be a high profile player looking for minutes because KU doesn’t have many minutes to offer. I would guess a younger, developmental type who could conceivably be fine with 10ish minutes per game next season.

Pardon my ignorance folks.
My question is on Hunter Dickinson.
If he is a legit footer who can shoot treys, why isn’t he an NBA prospect?
-
I haven’t really seen him play @AsadZ , but here’s what the scouts say:
The Michigan transfer Dickinson is a load to handle in the paint. He’s a throw-back center who throws his weight around inside and also has a really soft touch around the basket.
Establishes position well, using his big frame to shield defenders and carve out space in the paint.
Has a really good touch from inside and from mid range. A lefty who can score with either hand (shot nearly 60% from the field as a freshman).
Plays a mature game and makes good decisions with the ball. Knows how to move the ball out of double-teams. Becoming a very high level passer could be his ticket to the NBA.
An older prospect for his class.
Doesn’t have great speed or agility and will struggle to guard in space at the next level.
-
Other sites say he’s reluctant to shoot from deep. Turnover prone, makes bad decisions on offense.

Athleticism is an issue. His game would be a much better fit in the NBA about 20 years ago. Nowadays, a team that drafts him would hope they’re getting a version of Nikola Jokic because their games are similar. Jokic was a second round pick so Denver obviously didn’t expect Jokic to develop into a multiple time MVP.
-
Kaluma to KSU…
-
@Texas-Hawk-10 is fitness an issue with Hunter at all? I think i read recently that Jokic lost weight and got in prime condition and that was how he made the leap to superstar level, but he was already an all star at that point.
-
@Texas-Hawk-10 On the other spectrum we have Dok, I love him but is he suitable for today’s NBA

Conditioning isn’t an issue for Dickinson. He averaged 32 mpg each of the past two seasons.

Doke’s game doesn’t translate very well into the modern NBA.

Simeon Wilcher ends up at St. John’s.
Rick had a fantastic offseason. Lots of scoring on that team. They will compete for the Big East title imo.

UNC fans were saying from the start that Pitino tampered. Interesting.
-
@BShark lmao I mean how could you accuse Rick Pitino of breaking a rule? He would never.
-
@Kcmatt7 I’m pretty sure he’ll be coaching for another century. he’s a vampire.
-
Rick Pitino always reminds me of Al Pacino in The Devil’s Advocate.

Pitino = the WEASEL. Pitino is famous in KU folk lore for his part in the 150-95 shellacking we put on Kentucky. He proved once and for all what happens when you try to press a Roy Williams team.

Flagler get picked up?

@BeddieKU23 I think I saw Rice got picked up too. Didn’t know if any other big 12 guys were left? Drew timme or Oscar?

Mike Miles signed a two-way with Dallas, Timme signed and Exhibit-10 contract with Milwaukee, Flagler signed with OKC, Markquis Nowell signed a two-way with Toronto, Matt Mayer signed a Summer League deal with Houston, Marcus Carr signed a Summer League deal with Phoenix.
-
@Texas-Hawk-10 thx! Oscar, nothing? What’s an exhibit-10? Again, thx!
-
@Crimsonorblue22 -“ An Exhibit 10 contract is a non-guaranteed minimum deal for one year that can convert to a two-way contract prior to the beginning of the regular season. It allows teams to take a look at players in summer league and training camp without including them on the 15-man roster or using either two-way slot.”
-
@Crimsonorblue22 said in 2023 Transfer Portal:

Not that I can find yet. Exhibit-10 basically means a player will be in training camp with a team through the preseason before a team has to make a decision to sign them, cut them, or put them on a two-way deal.
-
@Gorilla72 @Texas-Hawk-10 thank you guys!
-
@Crimsonorblue22 Oscar has a 2 way contract with the Pacers

Damage control time, they are announcing their next coach today.
-
Word is that the new Coach for THIS year anyways will be Josh Eihert - will be interim and then WV evaluate at the end of the Season. They feel this way they may be able to retain roster better
