Everything Self schemed worked but our guys were not recognizing the obvious because duke kept shifting zones. It’s the best multiple defens I ever recall

@BeddieKU23 was never a good matchup for us. A team with size that takes away the 3.
Yet somehow we are only down 3 and could just as easily be up. Selfs gameplan has been better than Ks. I think we look better than them right now.

If they keep that zone, I don’t know who you put in those inside corners. Vick isn’t ready to be the man. Like Washington, who dared Vick to win the game for us. He scored 28, but we lost the game. Svi is an interesting idea, but he needs to be on the outside.

Duke hasn’t allowed a good 3 point shooting night since February 3rd. We are currently shooting the 6th best of the 13 games they have played since St. Johns. We are shooting what we shoot and they are defending how they defend. Pretty on par for both teams. Not a trough.

@Kcmatt7 Kansas shoots 52% against zones so they are down 24% from their average actually. i refer to a trough as a valley in performance based on this 1/2 if basketball only. hopefully they can get it up to 42-44% by the end of the game.

And I saw one of Self’s old 3-2 junk zones one possessions.

@Blown you can’t just consider what one team does. Especially when those numbers are inflated because we have never faced a zone team with this much talent.

Duke missed 1 fewer shot than KU, we’re legitimately outrebounding them so far.

Good half time adjustments - don’t rely completely on 3. The 3 opens up because of attacking the middle of the zone and dribble penetration. Keep them off balance. They aren’t quick enough!!!
