Texas Tech Red Raiders

  • I agree with that kid flipping off the refs.

  • Face mask in there?

  • @DanR you better be chasing down some refs!

  • Holy shit

  • Booker’s TD will be overturned somehow.

  • The first quarter has taken an hour to play. We need to rush the ball and take some time off the clock.

  • After further review, it doesn’t matter that the toe touched first, incomplete pass, 4th down

  • @stoptheflop That’s not why this quarter has taken an hour.

  • Miracle

  • About damn time!

  • @Texas-Hawk-10 you should take that old mans place!

  • @Texas-Hawk-10 my son is in Houston, my brother got him a ticket to chiefs game for a graduation gift. I was thinking you weren’t a chiefs fan?

  • @Crimsonorblue22 I don’t hate the Chiefs, but they’re not my team either. I will actually be at that game tomorrow night though.

  • @Texas-Hawk-10 Houston picked up heeney.

  • @Crimsonorblue22 Saw that this week. I didn’t know he wasn’t in Oakland this year.

  • Even though the QB’s knee was down, the QB fumbling after being down is not relevant, it will be Texas Tech football on the 1 yard line because screw Kansas.

  • @Texas-Hawk-10 sat out all last yr w/ankle/foot injury

  • Acording to the radio broadcast, KU is getting royally screwed by the refs.

Didn’t someone predicted at one time this was a winable game? Must have thought KU was playing Texas Tech. High School.

  • @JayHawkFanToo Yes, the refs made a lot of bad calls against KU, but even in the best case scenario, it would still likely be 28-14 Tech.

  • Glad to see schadler back in there!

  • Isu beating ou? 😳

  • @Crimsonorblue22 0_1507402148372_IMG_3015.JPG

    Super sad

  • Mercy!

  • Stanley isn’t any better than Bender it’s ether under throw or over thrown choose which.

  • @Crimsonorblue22 very sad, this has been a frustrating game. If our 3rd and 4th year guys could just make simple easy plays that most can in middle school like catching the ball and or refs that aren’t drunk we’d be in this game.

  • Oklahoma just got beat bye a 3rd string QB and we can’t even find a guy that looks like he’s played the game before.

  • @kjayhawks makes you think it isn’t the QB that’s the issue… No talent surrounding Bender. No Defense. Most drives have to go 75 yards. So our QB has to throw in a tight window and run 10-12 plays in order to get us a score almost every single time. We have to get a legit stud at either the RB or WR position. AND we have to beef up our O-Line so that we can give that stud room to run or time to get open.

Combine that with asking an average at best QB to be effective throwing the ball 30+ times is a recipe for disaster. This “Air Raid” really needs to turn into an option offense. Think Oregon instead of TCU. Tons of motions, jet sweeps, misdirection and PA passes. Especially while we only have small quick WRs and no real down field threat.

  • @Kcmatt7 QB isn’t all the problem for sure. Cozart looked like an average QB against a terrible team for Boise State, who has a much better all around team. Our WRs can’t catch most the time anyway but some of these throws that are off by several yards and the QB has time idk who else you blame. Now the question becomes does the KU basketball team hold the TT team to less than the 65 let up today lol.

  • Even our senior punter sucks 37 yards per punt average on 7 kicks. SMH no silver lining in this one today, just terrible team with terrible coaching being terrible.

  • Kingsbury now has as many wins in memorial stadium as Beaty and he’s only in his fifth year.

  • That was painful, and I’m not just talking about the sunburn on one side of my body.

  • 7 official reviews in the first quarter alone. Total BS. Why even have refs on the field at all if they are that useless.

  • Don’t even know where to begin. - Ok let’s start here you have fourth and one - - -and then forth and less then one - two separate occasions - and you have an O-Line that can’t get ANY kind of push off the line? You give any team a half a field to have to go for a score - -that spells disaster. Ok next this is just ONE of TT possessions that ended in a TD - -and then Brad Baldinger mention this about questioning the call of the Defense what the hell are you doing blitzing both outside line backers from the corners - -result - another TT - TD.

Our D-Line which was suppose to be one of the best in the Big 12 - suppose to be a strength? - - -for 3/4 or at least 1/2 the game was a joke - -& has been a joke. -they did finally get a little pressure sprinkled through out the game from the 2nd quarter on- - Armstrong/Wise. - - Our secondary can’t cover a cold. - BUT we knew that was going to be a weakness.

The QB position? - -Damn you can bullshit people to your blue in the face - -not me. - -Stanley may note be the QB but - -Peyton Bender SURE the hell is not. - -Bender is like a model of standing concrete - has no mobility what so ever it is pathetic. - -8 interceptions already - -I’ve said this before -and I’ll say it again , Peyton Bender is an interception looking for a place to happen. - - this guy only completing they said like 56 % of his passes - -a lot of them not even close. - -example you say? - -Ben Johnson wide open in the end zone easy completion TD - -what’s Bender do misses by plenty, - -you talk about receivers catching passes well they got to be reasonable - A lot of benders passes are really ugly. - His decision making is terrible.

Carter Stanley -again maybe not the answer but the ONE thing he at least does have - - -mobility. -The one INT of his - – not his fault at all. - -He completed the pass , Herell just got the ball ripped out after the completion… - -Stanley by far was NOT any worse then Bender for sure.

We don’t like either one of these guys , - -then we have to go to the next man up. - -Starks. - -AGAIN all heard when he came in was Beaty talking about THIS was the type of QB he wanted a dual option QB for sure - -a pure dual option QB - -no - -nothing. We ain’t going anywhere anyways - -neither of the other 2 QB’S gettin it done -give Starks his shot.

Right now this football team is a joke - if possible I actually think we have taken a step backwards. - -This defense - -is just WOW. , At this point if a team is struggling - all you have to do is play KU have career days plain and simple.

The thing is - -you know it - -I know it your going to start to hear ALOT of pressure about changing coaches - - -AGAIN - -that’s not the answer , you can’t keep doing that, you’ll NEVER get anything accomplished - -no rythmm - no consistency nothing. - -but it’s gonna happen. Another tough spot is - your not going to get any kind of decent players wanting to come to a program such as this right now - -these players don’t want to walk into this. - -I’m telling you - -look out we are going to lose more commits for the coming yeat yet - -especially the two studs out of Louisiana - -other schools gonna be all over them like white on rice. - -Asking like WHY would you wanna go play for something like that - -I can already hear it - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

Your right my friend - -they are really painful to watch - -just down right ugly. - I am one that is not in favor of change every three yrs or so - -but I think at least I hate to say but I think Clint needs to go - most of the defensive Coaches need to go. - - ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

  • Didn’t watch the game today. Watched ISU OU mainly instead. Felt good. Recommend it.

  • If KU can show more fight and smart football I will watch more again, But as of right now it’s boring and predictable in a bad way.

  • @DanR how long did you stay?

  • Bless anyone that went to the game. I don’t have it in me.

  • @Crimsonorblue22 left about halfway through the 4th quarter. Figured four hours was enough.

  • This preseason I was the most excited about the team as I have been since the Mangino glory years. The team was supposed to have decent players and experience, someone even said one of the better defenses in the conference. Now, I am even more disappointed than I was excited; it sure looks like the teams has regressed and we are back to being rolled at home. I just don’t see any games that will even be close…maybe Baylor?..right…

The only consolation we have is that basketball is right around the corner and it does not disappoint.

  • @DanR watching the post game, 2 defensive guys, Neal did not suit up, don’t know why and h. Defense has mono. 2 starters.

  • @JayHawkFanToo I think the Big XII is actually up this year though. Kingsbury’s job eas on the line so he upped his game. TCU is significantly better. ISU is way better than anyone thought. Texas is strides better (favored over KSU this week). The conference as a whole is significantly better so I think we might be progressing, it is just hard to see when the entire conference is also doing the same.

  • @Kcmatt7 so hard for me to see improvement in the D.

  • @BShark That was a terrible game for the Big 12. OU just got eliminated from the College Football Playoff with that loss and now TCU is the Big 12’s lone hope for a playoff berth. The other 4 P5 leagues all still have multiple teams in contention.

The ACC still has Clemson, Miami, and possibly NC State that can reach the CFP

The Big 10 still has Penn St., Michigan, Wisconsin, and Ohio St. in the hunt.

The Pac 12 still has USC, Utah, Washington, and Washington St. in the hunt.

The SEC still has Alabama, Georgia, Auburn, and Florida in contention.

The Big 12 has TCU and that’s it.

  • @Crimsonorblue22 We expected the D to be worse, right? Lost a ton in the Defensive Backfield.

  • @DanR I admire your courage buddy

  • DanR said:

You know, these games would be shorter and the lopsided outcome the same, if opposing coaches would just concede every review to KU’s favor. Why bother?

  • @Kcmatt7 Most people expected the defense to be about the same because of the DLine re turning in tact and having 2 of the best in the league in Armstrong and Wise.

  • @BShark shoot I went to the Central Michigan game. A game most thought we could win and saw a mac team cream us by 30. I figured today was a double digit loss. Honestly if i lived closer I’d go to most home games because stub hub has tickets for $10.

  • @mayjay Yeah, I don’t get the challenges on first downs when you’re up 21-0 eight minutes into the first quarter. I think until the 4th quarter they should give the replay folks about 30 seconds to review. 1) if you don’t have a good camera angle, go back to the field call. 2) If it’s not blatantly different than the field call, then move on. Later, in a close game, scrutinize it more. Football is not really a game of inches.

Some of those breaks were 5+ minutes. Three out of five plays at one point. There was a so-called fumble challenge that everyone in the stadium could see he was down and practically running back to the huddle before the ball was loose, and that one took forever because I assume they had crappy camera angles on it. Totally nuts. I think that was finally the one that went in KU’s favor–the 6th challenge out of 6.

If I was watching on TV at home I could be painting the house or knitting a sweater or something at the same time, but sitting in the stands it was just boring as hell.
