skeet havent responded but have been mulling over your comment as I wrap up a first listen of enshittification. I think you nailed it. Thats exactly where we are. I appreciate the cautious optimism that Doctorow has for antitrust new legislation and I do not believe the US will be leading the way on this stuff at least not until the horses are well out of the gates and it becomes apparent that we cannot stop antitrust entirely. Then we will get involved and probably corrupt it until the next cycle of course.

@drgnslayr Flory shut down AJ to start the BYU game and shut down Toppin to the tune of 10 points from the reigning Big 12 PPY, He is a better athlete than Rodman and really better all around. With Tiller having more impact almost each game on both ends and too big for other four's and with a stroke once he can tame it look out. The coaches are urging him to shoot from deep and mid range you can tell. When Tre and Melvin got used to the freedom on offense and the modified switching on defense, which is actually getting better, there's not a weak link anymore. It will be interesting how we handle Utah and hopefully get court time and shot attempts beyond Elmarko and Jamari. DP doesn't act like a freshman and you don't get as skilled and polished as he is without putting in endless practice hours. How good is Zona anyway that's what I want to see. There are some trap games like OSU and Cincy still to come.

I've watched it. It's well done. I think CBS/Paramount picked these programs to follow based on their likelihood of making a deep run in march. WRT KU, not a whole lot was new for me, but it was interesting to see some behind the scenes. The documentary picked a player from each program to shadow and that was Darren P for KU and Yaxle L for Michigan. I felt there was striking contrast between these two players-- Yaxel allowed a great deal of transparency and access to his family, while Darren seemed guarded and less personable, with no reference to his family. There was also some interesting parallels / differences between Self and May. Worth a watch. Last episode drops April 18. Will feature post-season, which should be a rollicking fun ride for Wolverine fans.

Boy, things are really slow on this site . . . so I thought I'd share a story. Back in 1996, UMKC was looking for a new basketball coach. For "political" reasons, they formed a search committee. The committee of 24 had nothing to do with the selection, but it made a good cover. I was on the committee. We interviewed the three finalists: Mark Turgeon, Mike Anderson (who went on to head coach at Arkansas) and Bob Sundvold. Sundvold was the choice of the AD, probably because he had coached under Norm Stewart at Misery and had "taken the fall" for Norm over NCAA violations. The interview with Turgeon was memorable. I asked what I thought was a great question: "You've been an assistant to three great coaches. What did you learn from each of them?" Turgeon responded as though he had prepared for my question. "Coach Brown is the greatest in-game coach in the game. After almost every timeout, he'd come down to me as ask, 'Turg, what would you have done?' Coach Williams is exceptionally well organized. He taught me how to organize my day; how to organize practices. And Coach Green taught me how to deal with the media." Turgeon was well prepared and had a great interview. The other great question during that interview was "Coach Turgeon, what kind of players will you recruit?" Turgeon answered, "I'll recruit players who can shoot. I can teach them my offense, and I can teach them how to play defense. But I can't teach them how to shoot." Very memorable.

A step down from Thomas Robinson and Billy Preston but still very solid. Tyshawn Taylor is joining too so the backcourt is going to be absolutely filthy. I got excited when I saw the name DJ Burns on the roster, but sadly it is not the same DJ Burns who led NC State to the final four.
