  @jaybate-1.0 Skal is having big issues. In the lasts 5 games he has played 91 minutes or 18mpg, has shot 6-19 or 0.32, has 12 rebound or 2.4 rpg, 20 points or 4 ppg and 16 fouls or 3.2 fpg. Diallo probably has better numbers. At this rate, Labissiere is playing himself out of the lottery and might need an extra year.

  @ralster I still remember Sherron’s farewell speech in AFH. Did anyone maintain a dry eye after that? There are plenty of guys out there who have skills to bring to the Kansas bench, but who could bring more heart for being a Jayhawk? That is a very tangible plus that can’t be artificially generated. Sherron is the real deal. I believe he could bring heart to every Jayhawk team… and with heart comes an easy path for building drive to win, and sometimes even a big chip.

  @jaybate-1.0 I think what holds Scot back is the same thing that holds many creative people back. Scot doesn’t fit the stereotype of a typical coach, player… etc. so most people discount his ability. Scot tends to be whimsical but he has a great creative mind and for the most part, a winning attitude and drive for success. I can’t attest to his ability to coach, but I can imagine him to be quite effective. He is very personable and communicates creatively, sometimes that is what it takes to reach some players.

  @elpoyo Players go to UK because of the hype and knowing that they will likely be going to the League regardless of where they go. At UK they get fancy digs, an adoring fan base, exposure, guaranteed playing time, get to rub elbows with celebrities and last but least, the allegations that a lot of money changes hands…remember money falling off FedEx envelopes? When you say that Wiggins gave only 50% effort, it is extremely unfair to the kid and actually quite incorrect; Wigging playing at 50% does not start for KU. Period. Wigging came to KU as an athletic freak with a decent offensive game; the defense skills he learned at KU made him a complete and much better player. I just don’t understand why you are always trying to undersell and demean the KU program. If there was no 1 year rule, I agree, Wigging does not come to KU…and 8 out 10 players that went to UK would not have gone there either or Duke or UNC…so what is your point, other than trying to be controversial? If by repeated trip through the legal system and several drug rehabs stints is you idea of school pride, then you are right…Beasley wins by a country mile.

  @jayballer54 I put little faith in predictions… especially this early. It reminds me of preseason predictions on a National Championship. The recruiting process has been going on for DeAndre most of his life… but it will kick into high gear here shortly.

  Largest number of fans they will have played in front of tonight. Most of them from Nebraska. They had a great turnout in San Diego against USC.

  @Hawk8086 I’m with you. As long as no one else “breaks serve” then all we have to do is win one or two big away games to win the league. Everyone always says “the road to the B12 title goes through Lawrence.” Ha… truth is… it COULD go through Lawrence, but doesn’t have to. Lawrence is the toughest place for teams to win in. Let them keep focusing on that and then they lose at TT… Turns out that the TT loss is what cost them a chance at the B12 title (or to share it). And also… they have to “hold serve” at home, like when we visit. Instead… they just keep thinking they have to win in Lawrence to win the B12. Nonsense, but why should we help the rest of our league understand basic math?

  Interesting stuff! I’ve always been an admirer of Naismith as a person who acted on his Christian Faith. He once sent out a letter that the sport was becoming too physical and un Christ like and urged the game to be cleaned up. I think his plea worked, but it apparently didn’t apply to Syracuse, Louisville, Georgetown, and, ahem, my beloved Big1G!
