  @REHawk Until the Big12 can consistently put teams in the final four/final 2 the regular season high rankings as the best conference don’t mean too much to me. Part of those high rankings are just a result of there not being any doormats in the league. TCU moved out of that realm years ago. 2002 was the last multiple teams from the league season, and both of us lost in the semi’s in a pretty easy year to win a national championship.

  Merry Christmas to you all! These pages are one of my daily stops, usually frequent in nature. When I look at the SB nation sites and see the profane filth appears on those pages it’s too much for this older fan. Haven’t found a good page for White Sox fans, Badger fans, so I rarely visit.

  Dok was a Beast in this game! I just got around to watching the game on ESPN replay a few minutes ago… been busy. work work work, now its time for play. I’m off work til next year! But I digress. Udoka looked really good IMO. Made some really good moves down low in the paint, shaking his man or even double teams for powerful dunks and nice smooth over hand hooks and neat lay ins. He also tossed a couple sweet passes too! I was super impressed with his progression this time. On SVI. I think he was also a Beast this game too! Man, some of those drives for dunks off the curl were absolutely nasty! He loves that lefty lay in, he loves that pull up from 10 feet, he loves that step back long range 2 or trey. He was showing all kinds of game on both sides of the court! I loved it! Bring on the Big 12! Rock Chalk!

  @JayHawkFanToo I, too, am high on both Garrett and Cunliffe. And if Preston does not become eligible, maybe DeSousa can eventually climb the ladder to meaningful minutes. This could become a very different Jayhawk squad by March; a 7 man lineup transforming into a rare Bill Self 9-man fighting crew. Through the transformation Newman must find his niche and break out of a scoring slump. When he finds his angles we are looking at another 15 pt. scorer.

  @dylans I see us as a Sweet 16 caliber team at this point, that can change if Billy is able to and Newman finds his groove. But I just don’t see this team being in the NC conversation anytime soon. Maybe it’s better that way and we won’t play tight in NCAA. If we make 3s at a high rate which we’ve done at times this year, we could beat anyone on any given night. @ParisHawk I agree, I think that having a bunch of evenly matched teams can be better for us when we haven’t looked near as dominant as some of our past teams.

  @BShark Wink, wink, worry hell! We got 6’8" 133 lb. Mitch Lightfoot and a bruiser named Sosinski. With the acquisition of practice player S. DeSousa we have merely doubled the Eligibility Waiting Time. Steamin’ along towards The 12th of Never.

  @dylans I would not go that far. Both coaches made adjustments at half time and both defenses stepped up and the game slowed down. Nothing new for KU which has consistently scored more in the first half.

Our guys will begin to be effective in that length of time. Mid February. De Sousa is probably not as highly ranked as many of the players you mention. Preston is highly ranked, but historically the only highly ranked bigs KU signs have admissions and developmental baggage that other elite schools do not experience. Self would not be signing baggage carousel specials, if he could get the other type, right? Great players can step KU never gets the Your right its early still. De Sousa was once a top 5 player in his class. He didn’t play a ton of AAU ball which usually helps one maintain such lofty reputation. It’s not an ideal situation joining midway without any acclimation period like transfers get. Last year Austin Whiley- a Top 20 2018 kid joined Auburn’s squad mid-year and did pretty well. Wasn’t dominate but he definitely helped them. It’s about as close of a comparison as there is. Obviously Auburn isn’t KU and De Sousa’s role will likely be determined on how much Self can trust him. I don’t know if its bad luck or recruiting the wrong players. It’s a awful trend though that needs to stop

  Maybe he was suppose to be things might of just got changed - personally that is a huge relief to me . - -For me personally I wish actually Jay Williams would do some courtside games -I and it’s just me but I like Jay pretty much. I’ve noticed that Jay Bilas hasn’t really done any or if any not very many games - he has gotten a little wrapped recently too - used to like him more - but for me - Jay is probably at right at the top. - Oh Bill just mentioned the infamous league of Champions. whew, -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY
