Interesting names like Sledge and Rambo and of course KY. More interesting is a super tall guard, Franklin, listed a 6 feet 16 inches…pretty tall for a 175 Lb. player; Manute Bol skinny.

Kinda cool, when I was younger we lived in Salina for about 5 years which is a metropolis compared to the 700 population town I’ve lived the rest of my life in. Any how my grandpa always got free tickets for the Kansas Cagerz that played in the USBL back then and I enjoyed going. Jeff Boschee and Billy Thomas both played for them for a number a years, they won the title a couple of times. Seems like the opponents always had a famous player or two as well. Randy Moss, Roy Jones Jr (boxer) were some of the guys I met after the game from those teams. I have their autographs somewhere, I always enjoyed it but I’m a basketball nut lol.

@wrwlumpy Yes! I heard this was coming! I really cant wait to see these guys play as pros. Both those guys are amongst my favorite Jayhawks ever. I look forward to streaming every game I can! Maybe even being able to catch a live game or two!

@Lulufulu Well, Some players get paid $1,000 per month,. Some get $3,000 and some get $5,000 for a short season. So yeah, they’re doing it to stay in shape. and stay around Lawrence.

When I was growing up, we had the Kansas City Steers. there have been other Minor league teams since then.
