Tough end to a great season, losing to Pitt in straight sets. Still, with a young team, there’s lots to look forward to next year.
Congrats to the ladies and Coach Bechard !
Seen a really great piece on Senator Dole & his wife & their marriage off CBS news this morning. Today would of been the 48th yr I believe they said Wedding Anniversary awesome , talking about how they met , her Career , NOW she said in all the time they were together they NEVER really had a really heated yelling agrument but overall just really interesting piece, and got to see a little of his humor during the interview
@FarmerJayhawk oh geez! I’m guessing you still had good strong antibodies? I had terrible chills and low grade fever after my second shot. I couldn’t stop shaking, then my calves cramped from all that shaking. My booster was zero side effects.
I respect OU. Even when it was Neb and OU dominating the big 8, we tended to play better against OU and they tended to show better sportsmanship than Neb.
One of these days, we will be competitive again. I will especially enjoy the next time we beat OSU at Stillwater after this game.
I just don’t see how this setup holds up long term. Having three schools (WVU, Cincy, UCF) on EST and one (BYU) on MST will make scheduling and travel a nightmare for basketball. I would have preferred adding a school like Memphis or Tulane to BYU for that reason alone.
I give it five years before we are back at this point again.
@wissox said in Huggins wants to, basically, destroy the NCAA basketball tournament:
I’m convinced we’d have won several more championships if his idea had been the norm but I agree it’s a bad idea.
Yes. The one that really comes to mind is Northern Iowa… That KU team was a very, very good and just got blitzed by an insane shooting effort.
By the way, maybe we should remind Huggy that there’s already the Champion’s classic every year. Just add another game for the winners and we’ll have solution. I wonder how he’d like the 25% chance of a title that would give KU every year.
Well the Ladies just won their 9 th Match in a row. Now 11-3 on the Season and - - 3-0 in Conference. Just beat Iowa Which until tonight was also un-defeated in Conference State 3-1.
Really proud of these ladies. - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY
@approxinfinity I had thought Coach K had retired already. I’m already getting nauseated thinking about all of the Coach K syrup about to be served up all season.
@wissox my boy is a rising 7th grader. 6th grade was a tough transition last year. New school, didnt know anyone, suddenly remote and didn’t really get to meet any new friends. While i condoned remote learning for him, and he just got his first shot a few weeks ago, it was at times pretty lonely and frustrating.
Thanks for being there for them.
It’s funny what you run across on other channels while the Olympics are going on. As I was channel surfing the other night I happened to catch an old Dick Cavett Show interview with Jim Ryun. This was right after he tripped and fell during a 1500 meter semifinal heat in the 1972 Olympics, a fall that Ryun claimed was caused by another runner. After his appeal was denied, he announced on the show he was retiring from amateur running, essentially ending his athletic career.
The Cavett show also featured other US Olympic athletes like gymnast Cathy Rigby, wrestler Dan Gable, boxer Sugar Ray Seales, plus ABC’s Jim McKay, who praised Ryun for his sportsmanship after the fall.
