  @dylans the longer they play and The more people get busted. It makes the MLB look bush league for not letting Rose in. They can’t prove he ever bet on anything but his team to win. Which shouldn’t be done but it’s not like he was point shaving like several have been busted doing in BBall. The Patriots only get a slap on the wrist for cheating.

I was lucky enough to go to a couple WS games in 2015, but after that run they raised prices on everything and its absurd what it cost to go and have a night out especially now with the product they are putting on the field. Here is a quote from a Ringer article about him: “Matheny won despite being widely regarded as the league’s worst tactician.” To top it off, he’s very “old school.” He wants a team that’s all gritty players. Which, typically aren’t going to be your 20-something-year old rookies who are trying to develop and are a bit in over their heads. He’s the type of guy manager that is going to mentally break some guys because he’s just an asshole. Matheny could manage the Yankees to a WS and bring some toughness and an edge to a group like that. I think he’s probably great for a ball club right on the cusp that needs an identity. I do not think he is the right hire to develop a group of young players that will be mentally fragile during their first season or two. But that’s my opinion. I really liked Grifol though too, so I’m probably biased just from that. He would have been my first choice by far.

  It’s an interesting idea, but if my team splits dates and is “home” less than 80% of the normal home games I’d loss allegiance. However, if it meant as team I formerly didn’t care about was suddenly playing close by, I’d become a part time fan.

  @wissox I’m ok with it right now because Eaton has been hot, our top 3 starters should be dominant come playoffs if Scherzer comes back healthy, and our bullpen was bolstered at the deadline and should be good if Ross and Fedde move to long relief, we cut Matt Grace, and possibly move Rainey, Strickland or Hudson into closer role in lieu of Doolittle. We’ve scored 11 or more in 5 of the last 7 games. I’m glad Giolito is working out for you. Since our starters have been good I always thought of him as a trade chip for help in the bullpen. Losing Treinen and Filipe Vasquez hurt a little more because they are now All Star relievers.

  @kjayhawks Manfred thinks it takes away offense. There’s already enough offense, in between huge number of players striking out. Hard to legislate against that, but he needs to figure that out too.

  Baseball draft is a crap shoot because you won’t consistently see top notch pitching as an amateur, and pitchers are such a high injury risk. So hitters are rarely a sure thing because they may get exploited by better pitching, and pitchers may not stay healthy.

  They were the hottest team first 3 weeks of the season and had swept the Royals in KC. I wish we had not played them then. Then they had some injuries and pitching went downhill. And since then they have traded their top hitters.

  @Crimsonorblue22 It is emotional to trade players especially those who have been around the team for some time. The team has to look at the roster situation while evaluating risk and reward. Royals still need a lot of prospects to get back in contention hopefully in 2-3 years.

  @AsadZ HDH was an awesome accident. Really hope the Royals can find some bullpen arms this next draft. #2 overall is going to be Witt Jr. But then we have 3 more picks in the top 80. A couple of arms out of that would be nice.
