  To follow up on this a little more, just now read an article from 247 sports which stated: The Big 12 stated that it will withhold 25% of future revenue from Baylor pending a review of the institutional governance of the inner collegiate athletics programs… Basically that boils down to, the Baylor athletics was give a 30 million dollar share of the league revenue this year minus the 25% equals out to being penalized they said like 7.5 million. The report says the bottom line is - - -in reality the Big 12 conference made merely the illusion of action. In simple terms the Big 12 is withholding revenue from Baylor until a 3rd party review ensures that Baylor has made the necessary changes. The Big 12 & NCAA have done NOTHING tangible to this point, leaving Baylor in charge of it’s own discipline., Article says more should be done. Once they feel it has been satisified, and the sanctions are lifted, they can be lifted quickly, the money that was being withheld will be given back to Baylor as it is just being held in Escrow. Man how’s that for punishment for the crap that’s going on there? - -absolutely zero pretty much. - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

  The first post on here is the final list of KU’s 2017 class. It includes 21 players, 8 of whom are already on campus including QB Peyton Bender. This class break down includes 9 JuCo’s and 12 HS players which is not ideal for Beaty, but we also know Beaty doesn’t actively seek that ratio like Weis did so I don’t think this is a big deal long term. KU’s 2017 class is generally considered 9th or 10th in the Big 12, but the walk-ons KU has landed should help with the depth as well. Adding the two Alabama transfers into the mix as well makes this class better than it looks on paper. KU will never be a place that consistently finishes in the top half of the Big 12 in recruiting so player development will always be much more important to KU than at other schools like Texas and OU that bring higher floor guys. The position breakdown of this class is 1 QB, 2 RB, 5 WR, 2 OL, 2 DE, 1 DT, 3 LB, 4 CB, and 1 K. Both of the OLinemen are HS kids so that’s important for future development purposes. The most important player in this class by far is QB Peyton Bender. KU has the skill position players, the OLine is returning 4/5 starters from last year and will only be better so if Bender shows why Mike Leach wanted him, KU’s offense will take a big step forward in 2017.

  Yes the KU Sports article on football recruits was great. Man, I’m ready for the spring game today. I assume these recruits will be at the I State game today. I don’t know if that’s all positive: they may get the impression we are only a basketball school, instead of a football school.

  Calling all defenses - -ANY kind of defense, any Defense at all lmao, - -na I saw this coming my teams defense has sucked all year, ya been really beat up but not making excuses for that - -their pass defense was just sad all year. - -we had some some chances at the start BUT missed field goa, - -then going in for TD and fumble, not recovering a fumble gift wrapped, gift wrapped INT - but still proud of my boys, good season, and we move on to next year. - -WIN OR LOSE they still my boys - - ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

  Successful? Idk if I’d say that but we did show signs of improvement in quite a few areas IMO. Team speed was so much better as was strength and conditioning. Beaty said about half way thru the season that this offseason was huge in that department because our guys up front were so young and not as strong as they needed to be. We have a good core of WRs, D lineman, o lineman and linebackers returning. Ending the season with a win vs Texas for the first time since 1938, along with competing with KSU on the road.

  @JayHawkFanToo Wholeheartedly agree. The Kaepernick thing went from curiously ill-advised–> to bad --> to worse (defending Castro). He made his organization look bad, he made his college look bad, he made his foster parents look bad, and he did incalculable damage to any perception of his own intelligence. I wonder if he had a high GPA in college, if it was for those b.s. classes they just have for athletes? Because, to quote Michael Irvin, Dallas WR from back in the 90s: “(He) dont know nuthin about nuthin!” The corollary to the cost-analysis, is what KU basketball would rate? How about them Chiefs, and Arrowhead stadium?

  They won’t be a bubble team forever. If Bennett can recruit to Charlottesville then Buzz can recruit to Blacksburg. If they can make the tourney and win first round that’ll be a success this year.

  Duke honestly doesn’t scare me. They are mentally weak right now. The whole entire team except for Kennard, Jackson and Jefferson. Nova, UK and UCLA are the scariest teams right now IMO. Really excited to see us play in Rupp and measure ourselves against another elite team again.

  Ive absolutely noticed that Beaty is a better recruiter, right off the bat than that old guy at purple. Y’all heard that phrase about jimmies and joes. And I think he is growing as a coach and play caller, so I’ll give him time. The TX win should get Beaty a shot at a few more quality kids. The absolutely first thing I’d tell “sentimental” KS folks, is that college bball is big biz. Everybody from ESPN to Zenger and Beaty, and on down realize that. You can get sentimental about your son, cousin, nephew or grandkid who is a 0, 1, 2star KS kid, and want him to play for KU or KSU, fine…but there isnt that sort of sentimentality in top 10 or top 20 programs, and Beaty knows it. He loves Jayhawk football, but he has 50+ TX kids on the roster. And 31+ kids now with 4.5 speed or better (compared to only 4 such kids on the roster when he came). But those kids are mostly underclassmen, playing against the physically mature upperclassmen and depth of more established programs. But wait til these 3 & 4 star kids of Beaty’s get to be upperclassmen with experience… Beaty himself said during a press conference after yet another close loss to TCU: …“hey, our goal is to eventually win the Big12”… I like the fact he has set the bar. I also hope the fickle KU alums realize what being competetive with OU and OSU actually will require, and give the man time. He’s got it started, at least.
