I really hope there’s this series ends up a trilogy this season in KC. These legitimately are 2 of the 4 best teams in college basketball this season and the atmosphere inside Ferrell Center was incredible today. Only thing comparable I’ve been too was mid to late 2000’s Texas in Austin.
Have you been to Allen Fieldhouse?
Yes, I’m referring to road games I’ve specifically been to.
-
The Bram is really fun for KU games. Sat in the student section once decked out in crimson and blue and had a great time
-
Really liking not being swept by Drew this year too
-
@Texas-Hawk-10 I’m glad you got to go today and I agree the atmosphere looked great probably will only be topped by the goat ropes in Manhattan as far as what we will see on the road.
-
We have doke this year!
-
@wissox I thought coach left Dok in too long during the last minute when KU was having trouble getting the ball in bounds. KU needed another ball handler in the game, not Dok down at the other end of the court. I think Dok was in until the 7 sec mark. No offense to Dok; he won the game for us today. We just needed a fifth, great FT shooting guard in the game when we were desperately trying to in bound the ball. Great win.

@stoptheflop Braun?
-
Actually, it probably doesn’t but I still thought this was funny… <blockquote class=“twitter-tweet”><p lang=“en” dir=“ltr”>Final Score:<br><br>#3 Kansas 64<br>#1 Baylor 61<br><br>12 wins in a row for the Hawks! <a href=“https://t.co/JH8pWR8ZJT”>pic.twitter.com/JH8pWR8ZJT</a></p>— Kansas Jayhawk Fans (@FansOfKU) <a href=“https://twitter.com/FansOfKU/status/1231295924225368064?ref_src=twsrc^tfw”>February 22, 2020</a></blockquote> <script async src=“https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js” charset=“utf-8”></script>

well that was an ugly paste, not sure how to get a pic or a twitter in here, but it was a funny pic anyways
-
@BShark how many dunks?
-
-
@kjayhawks Great Pic and a keeper too

Liked this quote giving coach some love from 24/7 sports…
“ Make no mistake. Saturday’s game was a coaching clinic — a masterpiece. It was a reminder that when Self has extra time to prepare he introduces wrinkles opposing coaches are seldom anticipating. It’s why his record in NCAA tournament rounds with extra preparation days — the Round of 64, Sweet 16 and Final Four — is 16-2 over the last decade.”
-
@StLJhawk yep I’ve been saying that for several years. Self seldom loses the first game of the weekend in the tournament. That second game is always the one that worries me.
-
@StLJhawk Yep. The problem tends to be that pesky 2nd game in quick succession.

@Bwag I will take points like that every time. Fortunately, Moss made both FT’s so it doesn’t matter now.
Just relooked at that play and agree with you. Doke was wide open under the basket and the Baylor player was nowhere near. Thinking Doke could have dunked for worst case and and-one opportunity.
Still not sure of Moss’s passing ability but should have been able to not screw that up.
-
Doke totally dominated.

Baylor had NO answer for Doke. - -You know I’ll admit I have said over and over that Doke would not play in the NBA , cause he is a past type NBA player. NBA big guys now like to get out in open space. Doke is not one of those type of players. - -However the way he has transformed his body I now believe he will land somewhere, someone is going to give him a shot. - - More likely then no the will just be spot minutes - -kind of fill in the gap/relief – but he has really changed his foot work - - a lot better conditioning - -he can help some team as a role player /relief give starters a break - - the guy is just a brick house without a brick missing
-
@jayballer73 Agree. Tacko Falls is still hanging around in the league, surely Doke can land somewhere.
-
PER’s after the huge win!! Doke continues to play at an incredible level
Conference Play
-
@BeddieKU23 Makes little sense for SDS and Dave to go up and Moss to stay level…
-
@mayjay I guess doing nothing is better than what happened on the court? SDS’s numbers have been fluctuating .1 up or down every week. It’s funny.
-
Not sure why SDS’s numbers keep fluctuating .01 after games.
Dave only played what 4 minutes? Besides his foul rate (which I believe isn’t accounted here) he scored a few buckets
-
@BeddieKU23 4 points in 4 minutes must be the reason for his bump, but 5 fouls ouch.
-
Dave is pretty consistent in his minutes. Gives effort, looks to shoot with any inch of freedom when receiving the ball in high post, 12 foot corner etc.
There’s a clear drop off from Doke to him but he certainly finds ways to make the most of his minutes since becoming the backup.

Dave will progress. I look back and still remember again when asked Coach was ask who had improved the most during the off season. - -Coach didn’t hesitate a second didn’t bat an eye. - - He said David McCormack hands down , not even close - - interesting. He has improved but not sure about the hands down. lol.
McCormack to me at times looks sped up, like in hyper drive. Love the kids energy and has played well at times, going to be a solid 4yearplayer. I think we all agree there will be a drop off though for sure at the 5 next season. - - ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

It would be interesting to see Self revisit that comment. Could have been true at the time of the question. Dave has improved a lot since his freshman year no doubt. When comparing him to Sr Azubuike it becomes clear how far away he still is from being that kind of dominate force for KU. Doke was half the player he was as a Soph. I don’t know if we will see a big impact the game at the level Doke has been all season long. It’s really remarkable to see what he’s been able to do.
