Looks like Illinois has snaked their way in the Epps recruitment
They have been in it from the start of him re-opening. Might be prioritizing him more than KU… But I’m not worried about Illinois in general.
Definitely a KU/Illinois battle based on the article Bossi ran. NC St seems like they are 3rd. UConn rounds out the 4 he’s really into. Says relationships will matter the most. Illinois has already landed two guards in 22. Maybe he’ll see more PT opportunity with KU with the Martin/Agbaji/Coleman-Lands moving on after the season
Kinda got the feel they were after bigger fish at the guard spot. Especially it’s not a massive need. Still bring back Harris, Yesufu, Cuffe, and Pettiford. Self has been a barnacle on Keyonte George lately

Gee, wonder if Texas has become a huge honey hole for us? Texas and now Sunrise. Hopefully with the addition of Yesufu we might be able to start snagging some Chicago players as well, ditto by adding Cuffe some in NYC. N. Carolina players have also been showing us some love - Graham, Dotson, Pettiford.

What do you mean start snagging Chicago players? Self has been mining Chicago very successfully for 2 decades now.

There is a reasaon like Farmer said he didn’t land here. Coach eyeballing BIGGER FISH. - the Article I read said Coach was hoping to land a couple of more in the next month or two - we will see

The KU-Texas rivalry is going to return to where it was about 15 years ago when both programs were consistently the two best teams in the B12 and KU couldn’t win in Austin. Even the title team lost in Austin that year as one of their 3 losses.

Still got to get that talent to play together. - -Just Like Kentucky who always has a butt load of talented players. - only thing is ONE big difference. I think Beard can /will get them to. Going to be some classic battles this year with KU & Texas . - -Both teams should be ranked top 5 in the beginning of the Season

Similar to Cuffe, he didn’t have a season last year but apparently is playing really well in travel ball this summer. Late bloomer type

Just for drama purposes I reckon. - so he can continue to be the center of focus for awhile longer. What ever happened to the good old days they didn’t ever announce a final 5-4-10- what the hell ever. remember the days when a kid was ready to announce - - he announced. Or he would commit to the School and then then next day or so you would know. No hats - -no little video’s -no instagrams - -JUST ANNOUNCE for Gods sake - -all this other BS isn’t change the landscape lol

NIL should make these interesting, as players sell the rights to their announcements. T-shirts sold to the crowds, etc, but they will have issues if they run afoul of the schools’ licensing rules. Can’t put logos on items to be sold, etc. Wonder if the schools will grant permission?

I guess that’s @jayballer67 's point. It has become a big “wait for it, wait for it” though they and everyone else already knows social media event. The NBA draft last night was kind of in the same vein… Hell, they even ask them about their fashion choices, etc. It felt like I was watching the academy awards. I turned it off after an hour, watched HGTV with my girl instead
