  • LL instills the mindset that causes us to fumble twice in a row on the goal line, have otherwise great receivers drop passes on critical 3rd downs, and give up every single 4th down conversion attempt on the season. Additionally, he is directly responsible for bad clock management and bad punting decisions.

  • I just want to be competitive and make a bowl game. As disappointing as yesterday was we still have a chance to do those things going forward. We will likely be doing it in a half empty at best new stadium because yesterday took a lot of air out of the fan base.

  • @kjayhawks The people who you talk about making up half the empty stadium , those are not true fans then---- they are what true fans call closet fans. You only see them when a team wins every game --that’s a " CLOSET FAN "- -when the team wins out those types of fans will pull all their KU gear out from the moth balls try and work a KU shirt over their twice as large beer gut they have obtained since the last time they wore it and Boast about how OH YA I’VE BEEN A HUGE KU FAN FOREVER then when KU loses they run back and stuffs that out dated extra small shirt back in the closet with a new supply of moth balls till next time lmao.

    THAT’S not a fan = == = THAT’S a Bandwagon closet fan , Don’t want them == ===don’t need then = = =EOCK CHALK BABY

  • It was pretty full to start the game. My DIL and 2 gkids got box seats-so lucky! They said the nw side left at half. Those seats, were over 200 bucks! Guessing rich parents in town had other things to do. We went last week and not many left!

  • To add to my above comment regarding coach failure tales that dwarf any purported LL issues: 4-0 Penn State became the first AP Top 10 team to lose to a team 0-4 or worse (UCLA) since 1985.

Edit: Oops! 3-1 Penn State. Lost last week to Oregon which is what instigated that prior comment. I should listen to myself.

  • Lance won a close game. It is time to call off the hot-seat dogs for now.

  • @Jhawk69 His seat was never hot DKs probably cooled a bit but he better watch himself. Offensively we have played good enough to win every game, defense is 50/50

  • @Jhawk69 Funny how my mind works…I look at your comment and all I see is "hot dogs " 🌭

  • @Jhawk69 said in Lance Leipold:

FWIW they are idiots. KU football is highly unlikely to ever be nationally relevant, just enjoy maybe being bowl eligible and competitive in most games. Lance is the best possible coach for KU currently. Loud mouth idiots without two brain cells to rub together are far too common on the internet.

  • @dylans anyone wanting to fire LL at this point is an idiot. Even if we lost last night they’d still be an idiot. I was the first to scream fire Grimes last year and still believe if we had coach Z we would’ve played for a conference championship. Zero coaches from Gill to Miles won more than 3 games in a single year. LL now has a conference road win in very season he’s coached here. The other guys from 09-20 had zero and the NCAA record for most consecutive road conference losses. I don’t always agree with LL but he’s easily a top 3 coach in Kansas football history and could be number 1 before he’s done.

  • Broskis lets just call them ignorant? They have 2 brain cells, 1 is just dormant.

  • @dylans Isn’t it amazing how in a short amount of time how things change .Let’s go back down memory lane when we used to have huge Beer busts when we actually win a game ? - - - - didn’t happen a lot , & if we got real lucky and win two- -holy crap Katie bar the door , and now even when we win six – seven games it’s fire the Coach ROFLMAO. i lo ve side line Coaches who neve have or never will lose a game- --must be pure bliss.

  • In the “Man Bites Dog” news category: In The Athletic’s Chris Vanini’s latest football rankings, KU at 37 is ranked higher than Baylor, Texas, Penn State, Iowa, Florida, Arizona, Clemson, Pitt, Arkansas, and Boise State, among so many others. Enjoy the moment.

Oh, and Kansas State is ranked more than twice KU’s number (76). Really enjoy the moment.

  • @mayjay Buddy surely you ought to know THAT IS JUST NOT GOOD ENOUGH, We need and should be 36th AND , AND , AND TRIPLE TRIPLE from the kity’s GEEZ get you head in the game lmao

  • @SlimShaddy54 I don’t care just beat them

  • The schedule gets pretty rough after the rest of the way though. I’m thinking the good vibes will fade off a bit after dealing with some probable losses.

  • ESPN’s FPI has KU pretty heavily favored against KSU and OSU, a small favorite over Arizona, a small underdog against ISU and Utah, and a big underdog this weekend against Texas Tech.

This Saturday is by far KU’s most difficult remaining game on paper and the remaining 5 are absolutely winnable games for KU.

I would definitely say that KU needs to be bowl eligible after the OSU game to guarantee a bowl game this year.

  • K-State is not a winnable game. TTU isn’t either. Other than that, I think we’ve got a chance against everyone we play.

  • @Jhawk69 lol. what K/State team have you been watching ? They are a VERY WINNABLE game, they have showed next to nothing with their very over rated QB. Johnson is an accident looking for a place to happen. Their program is a really bad spot right now. they are probably one of our better chances remaining for a win

  • We don’t beat K-State in football

  • We have more times than not.

  • If Kansas beats K State in football and wins an NC in basketball I will eat a bite of the piece of wedding cake in my freezer which is from 2008 and has a Jayhawk on it.

  • It will be a very interesting Saturday for sure. We will find out if Mizzou is for real with Bama in Columbia. We are heavy underdogs at Tech but I will say this much, we could very well be the best team Tech has faced thus far. We have to get the run game going and control the clock from the opening kick to have a chance. Techs strength is their d-line, is theirs better than Mizzou or Cincinnati? Idk yet they have only played one team with a pulse.

  • @Jhawk69 said in Lance Leipold:

Like you, I look to recent history rather than overall. KU last beat KState in 2008; that’s 16 consecutive wins for KState. That’s what sticks in my mind about KU football and all the KState fans that surround me in Kansas. I was at Memorial Stadium when KU finally stopped the Nebr streak in 2007.

  • @stoptheflop I agree. The way I think about our competitiveness is how many wins have we had against a team since the freshmen arriving on campus were in Kindergarten. (That’s since 2012 as of now. And right now, KU vs K-State = -3 wins)

  • @bskeet -3 wins? Hasn’t KU lost all those games? Or are you combining all sports? Kansas has lost 15 straight football games to Manhattan. 28/31 or some nonsense. KSU must’ve been absolutely wretched in the early days for KU football to still have a winning record against them.

  • @dylans You must be relatively young - within a few blocks either way of 40. The reason I say that (and the reason a loss to KSU antagonizes me so much) is that back in the day the roles were reversed. We absolutely dominated them. But then again so did everyone else. They were LITERALLY the worst team in college football. That wasn’t an opinion, it was fact. There was a lot of serious talk about them just shutting down the program. Then Bill Snyder showed up and ruined the party.

  • @nuleafjhawk Yeah. I remember that, but I was a kid. My entire adult life KU has sucked at football outside of a couple outlier years and KSU has owned KU football, just as KU basketball has owned KSU.

  • Bill Snyder and Tom Osborne are models for a program like KU. Lance is as good as it gets, he’s in that mold.

  • @nuleafjhawk said in Lance Leipold:

I believe it was some season around 1978, '79 or '80 when the Playboy preseason football ranking had KState as the worst college football team, with KU close behind. After Nolan Cromwell left, it was just sad in our little state.

  • @mayjay Oh, you just got that for the articles, eh?

  • @patoh3 I probably got around to reading it long after football was over.

Seriously, though, the PB football issue was very highly respected. Their preseason All Americans were flown for a big photo shoot, and they made predictions for lots of awards, etc. Not the same level as SI but they had quite a run.

  • @mayjay But PB’s benefits were better 😉
