KU Mad, Central Florida next on schedule, part 2.

  • Oh my still couldn’t inbounds it

  • Obviously a foul

  • @approxinfinity ya the guy saying he was shooting off balanced with 3.5 to go still is fucking single digit IQ fella to put it nicely

  • @kjayhawks that was Haase, disappointing

  • Rylan stole the ball before Johnson even started any shooting motion so how can it be a shot if he didn’t even have possession of the ball and then was fouled

  • @approxinfinity said in KU Mad, Central Florida next on schedule, part 2.:

    @kjayhawks that was Hasse, disappointing

Well I zero respect for that take ain’t no wonder he ain’t coaching anymore lol

  • Jarrod Haase was the announcer?

  • I think he was saying Dickerson too for a good part of the game.

  • Well Rylan did well. Coit made some shots. We made freethrows. We didnt lose. Thats about it for positives?

I loved the way he played. Mr Floor Burns.

  • Flory had a double double.

  • Key points in the game - - - - Ziggy 12 huge points - - -Flory- -10 points - --11 rebounds- --& 5 blocks- - -KU - 10 turnovers the first half – - 2 turnovers the 2nd half

  • I hate to say but we won the game tonight in spite of Bill Selfs coaching. Sorry but hard truth 3 bigs wasn’t ever going to ever in todays game and it sure as hell won’t ever work against a team with 4 or 5 shooters. We don’t get down 9 points to start the second half if that stupidity doesn’t happen. Looked good offensively the second half and would’ve been fine had Hunt shot normal average that close to the hoop in the first. I learn tonight we can move the ball much much better than we have been if Juan doesn’t come back and dribble in circles to go nowhere. We without question missed his long arms getting in the passing lanes on defense. Shout out to KJ for playing like as you would expect a senior with the game on the line.

Do everyone including yourself a favor and shut up. You are the most negative person on these boards and nothing the football players and coaches or basketball players and coaches do is ever good enough. Yet, you have the balls to try call others out for shit talking players on social media when all you do is talk shit about them here and claim to be nice to them on social media. All that does is make you a two-faced snake and a shitty human being.

  • Hunter 24 ---- Zeke 24 - - Flory -10- – Diggy 12

  • @Texas-Hawk-10 i started it, smack talking haase, fwiw. It was a ridiculous thing to say that Hall was in the act of shooting.

This has nothing to do with the post you replied to genius. Nothing wrong with calling out players for bad play it’s part of the game. Big difference IMO than directly messaging or tagging them in negative feedback. Just about everyone on here has negative things about players. It’s part of being an athlete. There will be outside noise at this level.

  • Kj probably was the difference. Griff had a good stretch when it counted, rock chalk and practice practice practice

  • @DanR first game off of an injury couldn’t ask for much more for KJ. Thought he played a bit much at 26 minutes. Trim it down to 20 and that him at his best IMO.

  • @DanR is that really the takeaway? I was worried this would happen. The KJ plays through injury so KJ is tough fallacy. Was he really better than having Bidunga out there down the stretch?

  • Never in doubt amirite

  • I may need to rewatch this one to see if i can get a clearer perspective on whether KJ was clutch or crutch

Flory played 30 minutes so I bet he was a little gassed and with it being the end of the game going with experience was Self’s smartest move of the day. We all know what happened at the end of the WV game.

  • @approxinfinity we can have both guys available. Flory doesn’t help move the ball on the offense like kj does

  • @DanR I think with how high energy both guy are you try to get them in that 20-25 minute range.

  • Fair. I can get behind KJ being the difference on this one. Ball definitely moved and if Flory got 30 that makes a lot of sense.

Calling Jerod Haase single digit IQ, clearly you’re not talking shit about him. That’s exactly my point about you. All you here do here is post negative shit because you don’t have the balls to attach your name to the negative bullshit you post here like you would on social media. So yes, you’re a two-faced snake because you hide behind the anonymity of this site instead of saying you’re true feelings directly to the players.

  • @Texas-Hawk-10 correct I called out the announcers not the players on that post. As did several others on here that you didn’t have the guts to say anything too. Several others also called out the players much more than I did tonight. I basically got on Hunts lazy defense that was all I said about the players. I can’t live in lala land like most posters do that we are just gonna cake wake to a national title. You know I love you, enjoy the win!

  • We survived. I am glad. Please come back soon DaJuan

My point went beyond just that single post about Haase because all you did during football season was talk shit about the team and coaches and all you’ve been doing with the players and Self the past few weeks is talk negative about them on here, but you’re so narrow minded and focused to even realize that.

    Peace out!

  • @kjayhawks do you even know who jerod haase is?

Yes I actually have his autograph and met him when I was in grade school. Doesn’t change the fact that him thinking that was shooting foul was stupid as hell. Once again I wasn’t the only one.

  • I think @Texas-Hawk-10 is referring to your post about befriending Juan on insta or whatever and referring to Juan saying he wanted some of whatever you were eating. Meanwhile you’ve been one of the more vocal Juan bashers. Imo its not really duplicitous to say one thing to players and another on here, but you made the two worlds collide by telling us you are friendly with him. Lol

But, I agree this was hangover from another thread.

people are blowing off steam, we probably should move on?

I guess the only one mad during the football season buddy lol

To me it’s a big difference than getting on and saying wow an experienced player should be able to step and make FTs (if you look back at the thread prior to that I said it was one of if not his best game). Than me send him a snap chat saying you suck wtf dude!

  • @approxinfinity I have a friend that sings I don’t think he’ll ever make big doing it and I’m not a fan of his music. So should I not be his friend because I don’t like the way the he sings?

  • @kjayhawks haha yeah. And in this thread you did give him props for his defensive impact. I will agree to disagree about our offense. I think Juan running the offense more methodically means much much fewer transition buckets for UCF.

  • I didn’t watch the game. Been dealing with people trying to purge the federal workforce. Looks like it was a real defensive slugfest…

  • @approxinfinity I’m a very logical man and I don’t sugar coat stuff. I’m not everyones cup of tea because of that and that’s more than okay. But it’s the real world Tattoo ain’t gonna coming by in his white tuxedo welcoming every to fantasy island anytime soon.

  • I left the thread as it was getting stupid. Amazing what happens when i do that. I picked up a book while still watching and not getting stressed by quite a few people that I don’t really agree with but are friends anyways.

My biggest disagreement was with the was he shooting or not shooting question. I thought he was. Didn’t think Haase was stupid saying that. He pulled up the dribble to get into a shooting motion. Now was it in anticipation of a foul? Probably and can see the viewpoint that it wasn’t.

What’s really stupid to me is people on here who have been on here or over at KUSports of the LJWorld for all this time cussing people out and all this over a game. Strategy, players, one guy says this, the other says that and while maybe if we were all sitting around in a room discussing the game it’d be different. In person you can really have fun back and forth arguments. Keyboards don’t allow for that for some reason. It’s really disturbing and as much as I enjoy chatting, I really don’t get into online arguments too much. I’ve had some here too I agree, but what’s the point?

Tomorrow I’ve got to go to work and try to assure many hispanic students in my classroom that they’re safe. I’ve got to try to write another girl who is hospitalized for self harm. Real life issues make arguing about sports and players and teams really pointless, and then @MoonwalkMafia chimes in basically saying the same thing. Peace out folks. Life is beautiful and fun if you allow it to be.

  • This post is deleted!

  • I have a friend who is a DaJuan hater. He still won’t admit that he is wrong. Lesson: don’t try to convince them. Proof won’t change their mind. Just be glad he is on the team. It’s better to have a good player certain people think is bad than a bad player certain people think is good.

  • @Jhawk69 why you doggin Storr like that?? 😉

  • @wissox thats fair. But just because he raised his arms doesn’t mean it was a shooting motion. He also had several teammates downcourt to pass to, and having watched more NBA than i care to admit, i would have been very surprised it they awarded that a foul. I have seen Steph Curry flail for the foul on shots he actually has business shooting and doesnt get. I overreacted about Haase. What irritated me was a) he is Haase b) he was telling us it was a foul, not suggesting that it might be a foul.

I guess thats his job, but its asking for a firm response.

  • @kuballin10 I’ve probably met close to a 100 KU athletes over the years. Whether it be Mitch Lightfoot sitting down with my son and I at Jefferson’s or waiting for autographs after events. I have one rule I tell my son when talking to them. Never coach them or talk about how they played unless it’s a compliment. They have a whole staff of coaches and administrators that are already telling what to work on. Had some great conversations about Lawrence or someone’s family that knows someone I know or of that nature.

  • Flory Bidunga Highlights vs. UCF (10 Pts, 11 Rebs, 5 Blks)

  • Zeke Mayo Highlights vs. UCF (24 Pts, 9 Rebs, 5 Asts)

  • This game showed me how valuable Juan is… on both sides of the ball. We lost the assist totals by 6. A stat we usually carry, largely because of Juan. And we didn’t do it because all our guys were driving the ball, though AJ wasn’t shy in his limited minutes.

One stat that just keeps getting bigger… Rylan, 26 minutes, 4 points. He should easily have 12+ points every game… easy. We run nothing for him and he’s our best threat from 3. We lose so much when he plays 26 minutes and only scores 4 because he is a defensive liability. He’s here and earning minutes because of his trey threat.

KJ… the guy I isolate watching… he did both good and bad. He brought some energy and it took a while but he proved valuable down the stretch. It’s just hard now to give up any Flory minutes to KJ. Flory only played 2 minutes more than KJ, but snagged 6 more rebs than KJ and had 5 blocks to none for KJ. But we do need an extra big for depth, and as long as KJ can add some energy, and some stats, the loss won’t be huge. But if Self starts giving KJ 35 minutes and benches Flory… not a positive!

I’m having a hard time assessing the value of Moore now. He almost seems like he is battling his old injury. His play is becoming timid, and he’s backing down too much on offense. I didn’t see great defense from him tonight. No wonder his minutes were backed off to 12, even with Juan out.

Coit is our guy… who will be an occasional spark plug off the bench. Tonight, he really rescued us on his trey shot.

I hope Juan is back for the weekend. We aren’t ready to face more challenges without him. Just too valuable.

I felt a lot more comfortable after the Houston loss than I do after this victory.

  • Anybody know why Shak didn’t get any run in the second half? That was weird.

Speaking of weird, just about everything else in that game qualifies.

Playing time, rotations, passing ability, defense, coaching. Challenging times.

It was obviously rough without Dajuan. Let the debate return to how many minutes he plays, and not about him starting.

This is an awkward, uncoordinated team (it’s difficult to watch Rylan do anything but shoot). We need more guys who can actually dribble the ball without falling on their face.

Having only watched Storr while at KU…he seems better suited to be an open court player. Not a lot if that happening at KU this year. May actually be a better pro? Ha.

Got a chuckle out if the fastest hook ever when Self pulled Passmoore!

Jeez, we won but I still feel trodden upon.

Maybe we should play Duke every game.

But, we won without a starter and a half.

  • I agree with almost everything @rockchalkjayhawk but KJ should no longer be a starter, so down 1 starter (harping because he rushed back from injury and that should not change the equation; Flory should start going forward). This may be arguing semantics. I would acknowledge down 1.5 heavy rotation players.

And, I think Rylan did more than shoot. Most def should not be a primary handler but otherwise he contributed in several areas, I thought and it stuck out to me during game when on ball. I will have to keep my eye on him a little more off ball, especially on the defensive end @drgnslayr . I havent been paying attention there

Who was responsible most for the open shooters when UCF got into their action?
